Hindes & McGinnis Contracting

This has been the sixth project over the last 7 years that we have had Hindes and McGinnis complete for us. Our home was built in 1959 so the work that they have done this time, as has always been the case over the years, was a matter of updating and repairing so therefore it required not only an expertise in workmanship but also inventiveness and ingenuity. It is a lot harder we are sure in dealing with things that have existed for a long time and having to be changed than doing new construction. We were again very pleased at how Hindes and McGinnes were able to come up with and complete a plan that perfectly fulfilled all our requests. From the owners on down to each and every workman we felt that our being satisfied and pleased with the finished product was of importance to them. We are truly fortunate to have found this great company and will definitely call on them again when the need arises.

Both Jamie Hindes and Charles McGinnis, the owners, are very experienced, knowledgeable individuals who are always up-to-date with new products and procedures. Their estimates of the time required for a job are always very close to the time actually needed. Their craftsmen are very skilled, friendly, hardworking, and make you feel that they really care about doing a good job for us, the home owners. We’ve already spoken to them about another project that we will be asking them to do next year. Finding Hindes and McGinnis has been truly fortunate for us.

Charlie came and gave an estimate. He was prompt and professional. He sent an estimate within a few days. I had questions and changes and he answered my questions very quickly and provided new estimated amounts based on my changes. We went with another contractor but I wanted to give these people a good review because they actually sent an estimate. A LOT of contractors will come to your house and waste your time but not these people.

After many different jobs with them over the years I have not had any issues with their quality or servce.

We could not be happier with the work performed by Hindes & McGinnis Contracting. From the initial consultation through the completed project, they were an extremely professional company. The results exceeded our expectations. We will certainly be calling on them again for future projects.

Working with Hindes and McGinnis is always easy. When I contacted Charlie (McGinnins) and asked if they did that kind of thing, he said yes. We sent him some pictures and he came out to give an estimate about a week later. While the original start date of Dec 2 couldn't be done because our tile order did not come in, we rescheduled for Feb 9th. They showed up on Monday Feb. 9th and began putting concreted board framing on the bricks of the living room fireplace. By Wednesday they were able to paint the entire room in one day. The tile guy started on Thursday and was finished by the following Tuesday. They followed our instructions about how to lock up when they left each day and the tile guy even worked a little on Valentines day to get the job done sooner. It looks great and we are completely satisfied. They really did a nice job! I have used Hindes and McGinnis for about 4 jobs now and each time they do a wonderful job for a great price.

They did a fine job and were very cooperative. Communication was great with them.

Hindes and McGinnis repaired and replaced drywall, treated for mold, added wainscoting, installed new floor as well as leveled the concrete floor. They also removed and later replaced an entire wall of built-in wood cabinetry. They then repaired some water damage to those cabinets. A closet was built and installed around a sump pump system. Unrelated to the water damage, we had an oak railing installed upstairs, that they stained as well. All painting was included in the price. This is one of the best experiences we've had with contractors. They were always on time, very professional, and the communication with the office as well as with the head contractor was excellent. We are very pleased with the work that was completed and are enjoying our remodeled game room!

Wonderful. Aalways arrived on time, cleaned up every day and project was completed on time and 100% satisfaction. Would highly recommend them to anyone with a need for remodeling work or home repairs.

True professionals!!! I could not be more pleased with both jobs. Charley took the time to explain what would be done and how it would be done. I had 5 other bids on the job but Charley was the only one to explain the entire process. The price was reasonable and the quality of work was nothing short of outstanding. I encourage you to also get several bids but start out by calling the rest...then call the best...you will thank me later.

Every step of the process was excellent. They went above and beyond with the work. I would absolutely use them again and would recommend them to others. They had good communication throughout, were always on time and delivered what they promised and more.

With regard to price, it went through insurance. I think they are still going back and forth about that. They do beautiful work. They were very professional, very friendly and very clean. They clean up their work. They were not intrusive and we didn’t know they were even here. They brought a large crew, so that they could finish quickly. They did it in a timely manner. I couldn’t praise them high enough. I am so happy with their work. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

They were phenomenal. They were very responsive when we called, and they answered and called us back. Our house was in shambles and they got in there within two days and started turning it over. The whole process took maybe a week. It was a pretty good experience overall. There wasn’t one thing that we weren’t happy with. Our house was six months old when that happened and they came in and made it look seamless.

I thought that Hindes & McGinnis Contracting were very reasonable. what I liked about them is they came in, did their job, got paid and they left. That's why I just called them recently to give me an estimate for some other work that I need done. They're very good and very dependable. They were on time and provided excellent workmanship. I'm waiting to hear from them to do more work. I'm happy with what they charged me for the work that they did.

H & M General Remodeling Contracting were good, they came on time and it was and in and out transaction with no problems at all. They called me before they can and told me the name of the guy who was coming and how he looked so I didn't deal with a stranger. They were very professional.

They were excellent. They were very easy to work with. The quality of the work was very good. They were very clear. They communicated very well with me and I knew what was going to happen. Everybody was very pleasant to work with. They had a few subcontractors for parts of the work and those people were also very pleasant. It was just a pleasant experience basically. Everybody was extremely polite. They were always returning the phone calls and informing about everything. No surprised and no problems. Their price was lower than three other quotes we received.

Mr. McGinnis came out to give us an estimate the day after I called. He was very professional and friendly. The estimate arrived three days later. The office staff I dealt with were very professional and helpful. The workmen arrived a few minutes early on the first day. They did an excellent job of covering flooring and the large pieces of furniture that couldn't be moved out of the room. The workmen seemed knowledgeable and quite capable. The job was done at the exact time scheduled. During clean up, I noticed that plaster had been left on the walls where they joined the ceiling all around the room. I asked the workman to wash the plaster off the walls and he did so without question. Otherwise, his clean up was excellent. After he left, I noticed some large black marks on the walls about 3" down from the ceiling. The marks washed off without too much elbow grease. Overall, a very good job at a slightly higher price than I had hoped for.

I was extremely pleased with their professionalism and the level of quality of work. It was an extensive job, and required assembling Ikea cabinets, but they really pulled it off. The kitchen has seen a lot of use over the past two years, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. The only thing I wasn't happy about is the exterior back door that was installed -- even after asking them to redo the work, I still am unhappy with the level of quality that I got. But considering the amount of extra effort they put into making the rest of the kitchen perfect, I was satisfied that I absolutely got my money's worth.

Hands down the best contractor that I've worked with to date. We've had three houses and have had minor to major construction performed at each house and this firm, across the board, has been the best. Very responsive, flexible, and professional. The owners are involved and their full time staff of employees and specialists have all been as equally strong. the work has been excellent and performed on time. Charlie is a text or phone call away at any minute of the day. I can't say enough good things. We are almost finished with the project and I will update again at that time.

They were wonderful and provided excellent work. I can't say enough good things about them. When I called I always received a response. Charlie McGinest the owner checked things out regularly and was fantastic. He was fantastic price. He actually quoted lower than a previous estimate I had received. The original estimate was not from a service provider my insurance company had recommended.

They took pictures of the problem and sent them to me, called, and then did the work. While they were on the roof they noticed some other issues and sent me pictures of those problems as well. I was able to authorize the additional work right away. They were able to get out do the work within a couple of days. No leak! They were easy to work with and solved the problem.

They were professional, nice, had fair pricing and it was an overall good job.

H & M General Remodeling Contracting were alright. Overall I would give them a "B". Generally I was satisfied with the job they did.
