Excellent - Joe was extremely professional, proficient & accommodating (we had a few small changes that we wanted done along the way & Joe had no problems with that). Laura was great too - we received receipts and confirmations quickly. We already know that we are going to use Radle Electric for all our future electrical needs!
Description of Work: Joe provided several services for us. He installed an outlet in our fireplace for our blower motor, he moved our cable outlet for our TV, he installed two eyeball lights (on a dimmer) above our fireplace, he put in a dedicated circuit in our garage, he ran a second dedicated wire and added a junction box in our basement for a future outlet for a refrigerator, and he put in several entry-point switches to access lighting in our living room.

We were very pleased. He came the next day. The labor was very reasonable because the circuit breaker was around $140. He diagnosed the problem and then came back the same day to replace it. He turned the whole thing around in less than 24 hours. I knew that it was expensive to replace the guts of a circuit breaker. We thought the price was reasonable and we would absolutely use him again.
Description of Work: We used Radle Electric because our hot tub kept shorting out and the circuit breaker kept tripping. He replaced the circuit breaker on the outside because it was melted.

Joe had to come out twice for estimates because we decided to do something a little different than we first discussed. He came out the second time to get measurements so he could give a better estimate. He arrived when he said he would. He worked until the job was finished. We are very happy with the work.

Joe Radle arrived on-time and performed the work exactly as requested. The new chandelier was mounted perfectly and he was very careful to install it exactly as we wished. He was very thorough troubleshooting some bad electrical outlets, quickly identified the problems, and repaired them. He was careful, neat, and cleaned up after the work was complete. It was a very pleasant experience to have a professional like Joe in my home. I highly recommend Radle Electric and look forward to using Joe for additional electrical work in the near future.

It is always good to have the home owner confirm the height of a chandelier, and its positioning before I leave the home. When troubleshooting, a contractor should always take the time to explain to a home owner what is being done if they show interest, some do not. Joe Radle was very thorough and actually went above and beyond. He worked with me on options because of the location of the box. He was probably the best of the whole group of people that gave me estimates because he gave me professional advice. He even contacted my local township to investigate the options before he did the quote. It was a free consultation and he was exceptionally professional, but more importantly he was assertive enough to make suggestions on some options that I had not even considered. He was quick to respond and he was persistent.

As much as I like to see a home owner do their homework, I also have to do mine, as things change from township to township. This is one reason a estimate may get "hung-up" or not completed and sent to a home owner. Some contractors want only the cut and dry jobs. I can give you more than that, it just takes time.

Customer service, intergrity, honesty and professionalism is very important. First of all, I called Radle Electric about 4:20 pm and since the website said the office closed at 4 pm I didn't expect to get a call back till the next morning but I received a call about 4:45 to come look at my problem the next morning. When Joe got here I told him what the problem was and he went straight to the breaker box.....he gave me some suggestions instead of installing another whole juction box (another electrician told me I needed) that would cost me $900+ just add the double breakers, that could give me about 8-9 more spots (this would help out alot since I will be remodeling my kitchen soon). Joe found the problem in an outlet in the living room that was the culprit shorting out everything. Joe is very personable and knowlegdable, I will definately use him again for future projects.

Owning my own business with posted hours of operation does not mean I live by them, I always put the coustmer first and try to return calls in a timely manor at a decent hour. This job would be a good example for taking the time to get several estimates, not just for price, but for ideas. In this case we took a panel change to a breaker upgrade and can save $800.00 +, when the home owner is ready to continue remodeling.

I had just purchased my first home and had my electrical panel replaced by another electrician, and was having problems with a breaker tripping every single day multiple times. It had been mislabled by the other electrician, and it was the breaker that controls my entire second floor (two bedrooms and a bathroom) as well as a hall light and a light above my island in my kitchen and one in my dining room. The other electrician was not coming to fix his mess, and I was left thinking that the circuit was overloaded, and that I was going to have to spend a lot of money to have the circuit separated. I called Joe originally to give me an estimate on what I thought was going to be a very expensive job, but he came out and quickly found that the problem was that the wire was not tightened around the ?? I forget the word, but anyway, it was "Arcing" and that is why the breaker was Hot to the touch when even just one item was running, and also why it was tripping. Joe tightened the wire, and VOILA, problem solved!! Joe told me to turn on EVERYTHING that I could find on that circuit and TRY to make that breaker trip.. I couldnt believe my ears! LOL - He said if I can't make the breaker trip then there is no reason to spend the money on breaking the circuit up. After three hours of running all the air conditioners and lights etc, and no tripping, I was convinced that he was right!! While Joe was there, he also took the time to explain in detail how I can figure out how to label my breaker box. I havent had the time to do it yet, but I have instructions on how to do it when I have the time. He took his time explaining it to me and when i didnt quite understand, he reexplained it in a way that I did understand. Normally, Estimates are free, but because this turned into an actual job Joe had to charge me, but he gave me a break and only charged me for 1 hour instead of 2. :) He also followed up a week later to make sure that everything is running fine. I would/will use Joe Radle again in the future and recommend him to anyone.

Some times we have to take the time to fix others mistakes and that is all this was, a mistake. All other aspects of the panel looked good allthough that one mistake could have been very bad. I am sure the other electrician could have found the problem had he just given her 10 min., and then he would have had a happy coustmer. This is the kind of attention to detail Radle Electric gives every job no matter the size or the cost.

I emailed Joe on 6/1 to ask about a free estimate for a ceiling fan installation. His secretary wrote me back within 15 minutes to let me know they would call me at 4:30 when I got off of work. Joe called me at 4:30 on the button and was able to come out and give me an estimate the next day. I called him a few days later to set up a day for him to come and do the work. We've been meaning to have an electrician come for ages, but heard nightmares about unreturned calls. We chose Radle from Angie's List finally & he returned our call the very next day. When I go into a home to do a estimate and one of items is to "look" at why "this" does not work falls under trouble shooting. Trouble shooting is billed on a time & material basis only because there could be 50 reasons "this" is not working, some simple, some complicated. Trouble shooting is always noted on an estimate as "Billed on a time and material basis only", which is the reason for a higher final bill.

Joe Radle did an excellent job! He was professional, prompt, and courteous even under the circumstances: During his 2nd day on the job (the day work was to be completed), our tenants' dogs had defecated & urinated all over the dining room, kitchen & basement (where Joe was working). Our tenants refused or just plain neglected to clean up after the dogs. BTW, this is all after we had a stern conversation with our tenants to clean up after the dogs & be kind and courteous to Joe. Apparently, this fell on deaf ears. It was such a horrible working environment that Joe couldn't continue working that day. Joe felt that he had to apologize for leaving, but we couldn't blame him, of course. After we apologized profusely for our tenants' bad behavior/hygiene, Joe resched. on his first available day. We again told our tenants to take care of their dogs esp. while Joe was working. We also promised Joe that someone from our company would be there to "manage the dogs & tenants." Joe showed up promptly again and the electrical work was done that day. Suffice to say, we are very grateful for Joe's professionalism & understanding in regards to this embarrassing incident with our tenants, and we look forward to working with him again (under better circumstances)!

Last month I had 2 ceiling fans installed by Cumberland Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electric. The fan in the bedroom made an annoying noise (metal on metal) which they attributed to defective bearings in the fan. Since I could not be certain if the problem was the fan or the installation, I decided to work with another electrician. I called Radle to repair/replace this fan. In the process of diagnosing the problem, Joe found that the fan wasn't defective at all. The electrical wires attached to the fan were hanging down and interfering with the rotation of the fan. It had not been properly installed. He moved the wires and the fan worked wonderfully and quietly. It took him about 5 minutes to find and fix the problem.
