The jobs were scheduled for two separate days about a week apart. Both times, Joe arrived promptly, unloaded necessary equipment from his truck, and immediately started the job. He worked quickly and steadily to complete the project. We have two dogs who wanted to help and Joe took the time to acknowledge their contributions. He really is a "pet friendly" business. Joe is a true professional who I will call anytime I need additional electrical work completed.
Description of Work: We had two jobs done. The first was a electrical service panel (circuit breaker box) remove and replacement. Electrical power had to be cut at the meter, the old panel connections labeled, old panel removed, new panel installed, new circuit breakers installed and new ground connected to the house water system. The second job was to run new wiring in the garage to provide a "non-switched" power supply circuit to two automatic garage door openers and to reroute the existing "switched" circuit to existing garage overhead lights. Almost all the wiring was located above existing sheet rock ceiling.

Joe from Radle Electric was extremely professional during the estimate process. I left a message requesting an estimate and received a call back from him the next day to schedule the estimate for a week later. Based on reviews I had read on Angie's List, I knew to expect Joe to arrive early, which he did (about 10 minutes). However, as others have noted, he waited in his truck (until I went out to greet him) rather than disturbing us prior to the appointment time. Joe clearly explained the process of upgrading our electrical service and replacing our existing Federal Pacific panel and sub-panel. He spent time answering any questions that I had about the project. Joe explained that he would need to schedule the service upgrade with our electric provider and that there were currently significant delays in being able to get on that schedule due to a computer system transition that was happening with the electric provider. I appreciated the information as it allowed me to have reasonable expectations surrounding the time frame in which the project could be completed. Joe also explained that he requires that he receive a signed copy of the proposal and 1/3rd of the cost of the project up front in order to proceed. These up-front costs would help cover the materials needed to complete the project. He also indicated that it may be several days until I received an email containing his formal proposal. Again, I really appreciated knowing what to anticipate. Despite Joe's concerns that it may take several days to send me the estimate, I received it the following day which was a pleasant surprise. However, upon review of his estimate in comparison to other estimates I received from other providers, his price was significantly higher. The contract we ultimately accepted was over 60% less than the estimated he provided, despite the fact that the work was being completed in the same manner and using the exact same materials. I found Joe to be exceptionally professional and would have been more than happy to have him complete the project, however obviously I could not ignore the fact that the rest of the quotes I received were far less expensive.
Description of Work: Project Description: Upgrade 150 AMP service to 200 AMP service including all materials, replace 200 AMP meterbase, replace old Federal Pacific electric panel with 40 Square D panel, replace 60 amp sub-panel in garage, replace breakers, ensure proper grounding and inspection.

This contractor provided an extremely high estimate to replace 6 indoor wall/light timers.....the cost for such was almost $1,000. When I questioned the contractor....they said there was a serious trust issue and they retracted their estimate. Not very professional.

Radle Electric declined to perform work for the person who is making this posting. A business does not receive two Angie's List Super Service Awards without treating people with respect. With that said, respect goes both ways, and Radle Electric reserves the right to refuse work when the level of honestly within our pricing is twice questioned including calling our electrical supplier. And even when that happened, this person was not comparing "apples to apples" which we explained to him still to no avail. In addition to questioning our pricing ethics, this person attacked our organization as "suspicious" in writing directly to us and questions our professionalism herein. Please note that we interfaced with this person during the sales cycle exactly the same as we do with all our customers, a few of whom whose comments are posted to Angie's List. This means that we promptly scheduled the estimate, arrived on time to provide a free estimate, spent extra time with this person to explain the job, turned around a professional and timely estimate, and quickly responded to subsequent inquiries. It was then during the latter part of this exchange when we rescinded our estimate, choosing not to work with this person. When you have had a business as long as we have, you learn people and know when to decline work.

The flickering light was due to a faulty switch. Any time a electrical device is not operating as it should be there is a chance for fire, so the price was just for promptness, professionalism, "quick service" , safety (family & home) , knowledge, installation, repair, material , and peace of mind through the use of Angie's List. The price of this job sounds like alot but there was considerably more to it than "two outlets". Included in this pricing was: center a ceiling light box and install new ceiling light; eliminate floor outlet; prep for cable company to install new cable at two locations; move one outlet; and install two new outlets. Thank you for using Radle Electric, and we look forward to meeting your electrical needs in the future.

I phoned Joe and left a voice message and he called back very quickly. It was very easy to arrange an appointment for Joe to come out and look at the situation. He understood what we needed and gave excellent advice on what we needed to purchase. Once I had bought the lights it was very easy to contact Joe and make an appointment. Joe was on time and quickly got to work. He found that one of the ceiling lights kept tripping the circuit. He explained the reason for this and gave more excellent advise on what I needed. Once I had bought the new light and made another call to Joe, he came out within 48 hours to finish off the job. I found Joe to be very professional, punctual, friendly and extremely helpful. Joe is also very easy to contact. You know if you leave him a message, he WILL get back to you. When we had the problem with the ceiling light not working, he was very patient and calm about it.

Found Radle Electric on Angie's List and chose to contact Joe Radle on a SUNDAY via e-mail. He responded, via e-mail, within a few hours, on a SUNDAY. Because I was able to use many extension cords to plug the Fios box into a different outlet that worked, I did not consider this an emergency and Joe Radle came to my house on the following Wednesday. It took Joe about 30 seconds to diagnose and fix the problem which amounted to my not resetting one GIF switch properly. He was not going to charge me but I asked that he check out a few other electrical issues that I had questions about. I am a senior citizen and always looking to learn from vendors found on Angie's List. Joe was incredibly helpful, patient, most professional. Just a great guy and a highly competent/knowledgeable electrician. Will recommend Radle Electric to everyone. Perfect.
Description of Work: After a major Saturday evening storm, lost power to Fios box, inside the garage, that provides electricity for internet and land line phone service. Also lost power to several electrical outlets inside the house. Attempted to reset GIF switches without success.

We called Radle Electric and received a prompt call back and timely appointment to look over the work we wanted done in the basement. Within hours, we received a written estimate from Radle via email, emailed them back that we accepted the estimate and requested the work be scheduled. Within 24 hours we had an appointment that was convenient for us and Joe Radle arrived early Friday morning and within 2 hours had all the work completed in a professional and competent manner. Joe is polite, knowledgable, professional, friendly, and his work is extremely neat and to code. He also cleaned up after himself completely! We couldn't be more satisfied and intend to have Joe back to do some additional work for us. We highly recommend Radle Electric LLC for professional electrical work.

I found that there was a water leak from the electric meter into the breaker box inside my house. I found Radle Electric through Angie's list. Joe came right out to look at the problem. He also noticed that the breakers I had were old and there had been several fires linked to them. He told me not to just take his word for it but to check it out on the web. He promptly provided estimates cover different option for solving the problem. Chose the option I liked and we set up the job schedule. He showed up on time. Took the time to lay plastic on the floor where he would need to be working on going in and out of the house. The work was done well and quickly. He cleaned up after he was done. I'm very pleased with the work and service he provided. I'll use Radle again in the future for any electrical needs that come up.

Mr. Radle scheduled the start time of the job at 0730. He arrived early, explained in detail what to expect and then went straight to work without delay. Mr. Radle made all of the arrangements prior to the start date of the work so everything went really smoothly. Mr. Radle said to expect to be without power for most of the day (just in case there was a problem) and I had my power back on by 1400 (2pm). Mr. Radle worked hard and diligently all through lunch and did not stop to take breaks or anything. He powered through the job and completed it way ahead of schedule. He is a true professional that loves his work and does it well. He greeted my family with respect and was great with my kids!!! He told them what he was doing in simplest terms that they could understand and they were not scared of losing the power or anything. After the job was completed, Mr. Radle pulled me to the side and showed the old service line which was actually dry rotting and cracking, which caused the copper wiring inside the cracked casing to be exposed. He said that I was lucky to get this done when I did, because it could have caused a fire. Mr. Radle did not have to explain anything to me, but he took the time to show me problems that were there and how he fixed them. Mr. Radle's dedication to his customers shows in his work and I would use him again for any and all electrical needs!!!
Description of Work: Total electrical system upgrade from 100 amp to 200 amp service. Thank you for the kind comments and acknowledgment of my dedication to my customers and the electrical profession. I endeavor always to treat my customers the way I expect to be treated by contractors coming into my home. It is my honor to be trusted with your home (your family). When providing scenarios to customers, for example for expected duration to be without power during a service upgrade, my practice is to give worse-case scenarios while aim to come in under that time frame. Also, I welcome the opportunity to explain the inner workings of customers' electrical systems so they can make educated decisions in the future. My friends and I tried to install a new ballast on a fluorescent ceiling light in my kitchen. Nobody took notes on how the old one was wired. This turned out to be a bad idea. We gave up. Needless to say my wife was not happy about not having enough light in the kitchen. I called Radle Electric at 8:30 AM and left a voice mail message. Joe returned my call at 9:30 AM. The service all was set for 12:00 but he called back with an earlier time, which was great. Joe arrived on time. My kitchen light is two switches. Some how one of my outside light and light over my fireplace are also wired into this circuit. Even though the breaker was on they were not working. Joe diagnosed the situatuon and resolved the wiring puzzle in 15 minutes. He installed the fluorescent tubes and reassembled the fixtuure and switch cover plates. Joe was professional and friendly. Radle Electric is focused on customer satisfaction. My wife is happy to have light in the kitchen again. I plan to use them again soon. I believe I received quality service for a reasonable price. I have already recommended Radle Electric to a friend.

This is the 3rd time we have used Radle Electric. As previously, Joe was timely with his estimate and showed up when he said he would. Whenever a problem arose with beams or plumbing interfering with the light placement, Joe told us the options, and had our approval before continuing. The estimate was right on and all work was completed before he left. The best compliment I can give Radle Electric on the completed project is that "My wife loves it."

As with any lighting remodel, we never know exactly where plumbing pipes for a second floor are located. So even when someone has a lighting layout in mind, I have to make them aware that we may have to adjust the layout accordingly so that the plumbing pipes do not interfere. And as with all remodels when dealing with unknowns, I always evaluate with the customer preferences versus cost to arrive at the best solution for the customer.
