Lynch Mechanicals is a local residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning contactor. We are a small co that provides service and installation. We do not use sub contractors. We are a Nate quality circle contractor, We have a PA state contractors license. We charge a $75.00 service call. Angie’s list members can receive $15.00 off a service call. Description of Work: Replaced a blown capacitor on my heat pump compressor. I knew I was in trouble when he pulled up in a Mercedes truck. Reasonable pricing was my only issue. He claimed he was going by a suggested labor/part pricing chart from Bryant. Bryant claimed there is no such thing. Bottom line he charged me $50 for a half hour labor from the chart and $123 for the capacitor which costs $21.50 from a local parts company. When I questioned him on the cost of the electrolytic capacitor his only explanation was that Bryant parts are more expensive. Really! The service visit fee was a good value from Angies.

[Members Name], I'm sorry we could not achieve an A grade for you. We strive to treat all of our customers fairly. I did want to take this time to clarify a few things. We use a flat rate system. The flat rate system is NOT published by Bryant. It is published by a company that specializes in HVAC, plumbing and electrical pricing. The flat rate system is similar to the automotive industry and many others. We do stock Bryant factory parts on our truck because we know the quality is good. These parts are more expensive then the generic counter parts. We use these parts because we stand behind our work and warranty the part and labor. If you were not happy at the time of the repair we would have been happy to remove the part. Usually we like to quote repair cost up front but in your case we needed to install the part to make sure all the other components of your system we functioning. If you only needed a diagnostic service call to locate the problem we would have been happy to help you there as well. Thank you again for the opportunity! Graham Lynch.

Description of Work: The answers are F for lousy because Mr Lynch came out on Thursday and said he would get an estimate to me by Monday that he would work it up over the weekend. It is now Wednesday and have not heard back from him. I hired another company for the work that will be done within the next week and the cost is $3500. Thanks for wasting my time and yours.

This customer is 100% correct. I did not follow through in the time frame I said I would. I should have contacted the customer to tell them the proposal would be delayed a few days because I was waiting for manufacture rebate information. Instead of assuming it would be ok to delay the quote I should have contacted the customer. Thank you for your honesty and I apologize for wasting your time. We will be more diligent in the future! i just did.
Description of Work: Our A/C unit was not working. I called and he was able to come out the same day. He called before he came and cleaned up after himself. He was very professional and explained everything to us. Our unit needed recharged The price was more than reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience and we will call him again!.
