We liked all the subcontractors William Henderson Plumbing & Heating hired. They pretty much followed the schedule they gave us. They were all nice to work with. We just had them in yesterday to look at the other 2 bathrooms in the house. I would give him As across the board.

Mike Henderson was wonderful to deal with, very responsive and prompt. He worked with us as we changed the scope of the work and our dates for beginning the project. The work performed was professional, neat and clean. We've called them back to the house a number of times for different issues we discovered (not issues with their work, plumbing issues in general) and they have continued to be responsive. Their office suppot staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their estimate wasn't the least expensive, but it was competitive. Very happy that we decided to go with them.

Henderson is not the low cost provider, but did what they promised to do, did it well, and continued to be responsive even after they were paid.

It was very good. Henderson is a very good company, and they can handle any plumbing problem. I started with them last week, when a pipe in my basement froze and split. No flooding occurred because the water was all ice. A Henderson man came out pretty quickly and replaced a length of the pipe. He also advised me on other plumbing observations he noted while in the house- very professionally. I asked him about the water filter hanging from the faucet-you know the 2 companies who make those. He told me that the back pressure from them against the faucet destroys faucets. That is what lead to me wanting the under-sink filter installed.

I called William Henderson Services because I had a leak in my bathroom that caused the ceiling in a closet below to collapse. The service man came out within 4 hours which was a good thing. He identified a leak in the ¼? flexible hose from the toilet to the supply line which was dripping through the floor penetration. This was another positive because I was thinking it was a leak from my bathtub. The service man provided me a quote of $281.00 to replace the supply line. This price is outrageous, the flexible hose costs less than $10.00 at Home Depot and can be installed by an amateur in about 15minutes. I was also given a price of $324.00 to replace a piece of dry wall in the 28?x28? closet, another extremely high price. On top of overpriced quotes I received I was also charged $65.00 for the visit. In my opinion the correct price should have been $65.00 plus material costs for the hose since the service man was already at my house. Despite the service man being very pleasant the pricing provided made my experience poor. I understand that everyone needs to make a decent profit but 281.00 for the work plus 65.00 for the visit is ridicules. This means my total for the repairs (without fixing the closet ceiling) would have been $346.00! Let me break this down further, the plumbers bill rate is probably around 65 dollars an hour which covers his salary plus overhead costs. Material and labor for this issued would have cost about 75.00. This means Henderson expects 271.00 for profit which is a 78% profit margin. That is just taking advantage of customers.

After checking Angie's List, I contacted Henderson to replace my hot water heater and to fix some plumbing problems. Also had them service the HVAC unit. The work was good and the guys were professional. I signed up for a one year maintenance contract with the company for plumbing and the HVAC

Wm Henderson responded quickly to our call. All workers were professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and did a good job. The entire repair was completed in one day.

We chose Henderson because the had experience installing and servicing the Buderus gas boiler heating system that we wanted. They did the installation over 2 days. The length of time for the installation was longer that usual because they had difficulty finding a good place to put the exhaust. There were several problems which developed after the installation. The exhaust pipe was not slanted properly to cause water flow back into the system and the final position of the pipe had to be thru the basement ash room under the chimney so the plastic pipe was exposed to possible ash drop from the fire place. They were very responsive to correcting both of these problems and no more expense to us. All the men who worked on the job and all the people in the office were punctual and courteous. It was a pleasure working with them in spite of the problems.

I had Henderson Plumbing and Heating come and work in our home on several different issues in 2012. They were always on time and they were always pleasant. They went the the distance each time to make sure that I was totally satisfied with their service. They try to keep everything as clean as possible. If you see anything, any mess left behind that they didn't see, you just call them and thy will come right back out to take care of it. I switched from a different well known company in the area and they couldn't meet the quality I got from Henderson. The other company just couldn't keep up with their services call or their promises. Henderson is a quality guaranteed company. If you have any issue or concern just talk with them, they can give you some peace of mind on the work to be performed and will explain everything.

Arrived when promised. Was knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem quickly. Was shocked when informed that to replace a thermocouple and the mount that it would cost $400. Figured for that amount that the tech would have at least cleaned and tuned the system. Was informed that would an additional $120 and would have to be scheduled. We are a little disappointed but are at least we're warm.

We had multiple plumbing issues at our new home. After purchasing new appliances from the Home Depot (Fridge, Dishwasher and Gas Stove), we needed William Henderson Plumbing to fix the issues. Prior to receiving the appliances our kitchen sink was also clogged. From the minute I called WH I knew I was going to have a positive experience. The representative was very helpful and scheduled my service in just a few short days. When the technician arrived on the first visit, he was courteous, placed shoe covers over his feet and took care to place a fabric tarp on my kitchen floor. He quoted me a price for everything I needed- It was great I wasn't being charged by the hour but by the job. He was able to install my stove after installing a shutoff valve and cleared the kitchen sink. The water line and dishwasher install was slightly more complicated and he advised me that they would need to return with a two man crew due to running the water line in the crawl space. On the second visit by WH, the first technician arrived and got to work on the dishwasher until the second technician arrived. He was able to install several shutoff valves under my sink for the water line. Still waiting for the second guy, he finished the dishwasher- looks great! The second guy got tied up on an emergency job and I was told that the water line would need to wait for another appointment. I was fine with this because the technician on site did a great job with the dishwasher and I couldn't hold it against him the the second man got tied up. As soon as he left, the office called me and scheduled an appointment for a Saturday- two days later. On that Saturday, two techs arrived and installed the water line to the fridge, despite running into a slight problem and having to run the line in a different method. After everything was completed, I could not be happier with William Henderson Plumbing and would definitely recommend this plumber to my family and friends

The three technicians that have come out have all been courteous and professional, and have always arrived exactly when it was estimated that they would arrive. We have priced shopped for these services, and although Henderson is certainly not the cheapest, we are going to continue to use them due to the quality of the service we have received to date.

This company is located about 15 minutes from my house, and I think it's ludicrous that they charge that type of fee when it should be a cost of doing business with customers. I understand fuel charges have risen, but I think providing free estimates within a close radius of their office should be a normal course of business. In this economy, there are too many other talented professionals who are available to give free estimates and do the work.

Within 90 minutes of Tony's arrival my heat was on! Tony also explained what he was doing as he was doing it, as well as explaining the advantage of purchasing a service plan that would include the cleaning that my furnace needs. He answered all of my questions. I do not have a way to evaluate how appropriate the charge for the service was, as I really needed the furnace fixed asap and was not in a position to get various estimates. But I can definitely recommend the service.

Our A/C died on a beastly hot weekend before July 4th. Sunday I called three vendors. All three called back Monday morning, Henderson was first. They were at our house in the afternoon and did a thorough inspection and provided several options to consider. He took extra time to explain that the supply duct really was too small (showed me the numbers) since it was originally made only for heating. He also offered three levels of efficiency. Couldn't promise me on the spot, but said he would try to have an installer there Thursday (day after July 4th). The second vendor also came that afternoon and did a fine job of explaining everything, but really didn't think we needed the duct modification. Said it would be one to two weeks, but they would bring window units over to cool us down. Pricing was competitive and he found a $1000 manufacturer rebate. Honestly I could have gone with either. I called my cousin who is in the business and together we decided that the highest efficiency was best since we plan to say in the home more than 10 years. He agreed with the ductwork discussion. I called Henderson back and said we wanted to go high efficiency and do the ductwork. I asked to see if there were any manufacture rebates and said no, they had expired. But if I could wait a bit, he would contact the manufacturer and ask for an exception. He called back in 30 mins and confirmed install on Thursday and the $1000 rebate! I really felt they went the extra mile, so I gave him the business. Sure enough they came on Thursday and we were cool that night. They couldn't get everything done that first day and asked if I would mind if they came back in two weeks (the heater wasn't connected yet). I agreed and asked if they wanted a partial payment. No, they said. Sure enough, they came back on schedule and finished everything up. The install team was great. No mess, no trash, no smoking, everyone was nice and friendly. The system has performed flawlessly for both A/C and heat. It's so quiet you can barely tell when it comes on.

I bought a 200 year old house from an estate and its heating and plumbing set-up all require major repairs. This was a responsive team, respectful and extremely accommodating. They answered my questions no matter how basic or frequent and have performed high quality work. We've started with replacing the furnace and I plan to use this company for all plumbing and heating updates and repairs going forward.

They were very responsive when I called to schedule an appointment. I had asked specifically for a plumber to come to the house because I believed there was a leak in the refrigerator water line (there was). He fixed it promptly and also looked at and gave me advice on some other plumbing issues (without nudging for the work). He also explained the various annual service plans the company offers for plumbing, heating and cooling inspections and I signed up for their most comprehensive plan covering all three. Within a day, the office called to schedule the first appointment (servicing of the furnace). Very pleased with their responsiveness.

The tub was removed and the shower tray installed without issue. Tony the tile guy came over to add tile to the walls where the tub had been. Great job by all! They all made sure the floors they walked on were tarped and their cleanup was very good.

On Labor day we noticed slow dripping from the kitchen ceiling, right below the bathroom. They came out as an emergency and reset the toilet but told us if the dripping won't stop, we need to contact them again and it might be the pipes. The dripping wouldn't stop, so they came out again and gave us an estimate for removing all tiles on the floor, checking pipes (found two drippings actually), replacing pipes, replacing old toilet, vanity and fix the bathtub caulking. We went ahead with the project. They showed up on time, covered the steps and living floor for each day, so it won't get dirty. They were very organized and professional. They were willing to install the vanity that we bought from IKEA and apparently was a lot more challenging the traditional ones. The project took about 4-5 days to finish because the tiles we picked had to be ordered. I would use them again and highly recommend for plumbing services.

Plumbing work needed for my elderly parent?s 1950?s house in Radnor. I was not familiar with any local plumbers living in the Lancaster area. Called Henderson Plumbing based upon recommendation from a trusted HVAC company owner in my area and based upon reviews on Angie?s List. The initial contact with the receptionist was polite and professional and arrangements were promptly made to coordinate a time that I could meet the plumbing estimator at my parent?s house. On the day of the estimator?s visit, Henderson called to request to come a bit early. I did previously request that they call my cell phone not my parents phone to avoid confusion, as I was coordinating the plumbing repairs on their behalf. They called my parents phone ? however, no biggie as I was right there. Dan showed up and was polite and professional. I went over what was needed to be done. I had a priority to rebuild a downstair bath/shower that had not been used in quite some years in order for my walker bound father (and a mother currently in rehab with a walking status unknown) to try to eliminate the use of the stairs for an upstairs bathroom. He had a great suggestion of installing a sliding shower head on the wall and also indicated that they could install safety grab bars. I did request he evaluate what we thought was a slow drain for the tub and he was honest in indicating that he felt it was around 80% and it would probably be fine for a shower. I appreciated this, as a first mention of the slow drain and lack of use, there was an expensive concern with dealing the cast iron drainage system. He worked up an estimate for all the requested work (kitchen faucet rebuild; downstairs bathroom shower rebuild; safety grab bars; toilet rebuild; upstairs shower rebuild,etc.) At first inspection, I did feel that some of the requested services were a bit high, specifically the toilet rebuild ($200) and a kitchen sink rebuild ($200). However, I do not honestly know the price of these services. However, my priority was for the downstream bathroom to be fully functional. The cost of the shower/bath work and grab bars was approximately $1,200. However, based upon the age of the plumbing, and ensuring that the grab bars be professionally mounted, this cost did not seem unreasonable. The work for the downstream bathroom was authorized. I did call back one time prior to the plumber coming out to discuss the sliding shower head option more and choosing a mounting height to meet my parent?s needs. Dan promptly called back and was professional. I was not present during the work. However, my father indicated the plumber arrived on time, and performed the requested work in a professional manner. He also indicated the plumber suggested an alternative safely grab bar mounting position for the tub (I had marked with electrical tape my suggested locations prior) and reviewed the mounting of the other grab bar prior to installing them. My father thought the alternative mounting was a great idea. I certainly appreciated that he was polite, professional and helpful to my elderly father. I did look at the work on my last visit and everything was installed as indicated and looked very professional. The only small negative I would say - a pile of the ceramic dust from drilling in the tub wall was not cleaned up and left on the bathroom floor. Based upon limitations, my father cannot easily sweep this up and was tracking it through the floor with the walker. However, in summary, Henderson was very prompt, professional and did all work as requested at the price indicated and I will certainly continue to use them.

Dan from Wm Henderson came to my house on a Monday. I was a little surprised at how much it would cost to simply repair a leaky tub/shower faucet. He said he was unsure if he would be able to get the right parts since the faucet was approximately 20 years old and he also left an estimate for replacing the faucet. I did some investigation after he left regarding the cost and I concluded the price was a little high, but I didn't have time to get several additional estimates. I told Dan to proceed. He was able to get the parts and returned the following Monday to perform the repairs. He did an adequate job and left an estimate for additional issues he identified in my home. At first I had an issue with using my Angie's List coupon for $35 off a first visit, but my issue was resolved with a couple of phone calls and a note to the billing department. I was able to use the coupon.

The reason I won't give them a high grade is that I think their price is little higher compared to other providers.

It's been 5 months since the plumbing repair and there have been no problems! Henderson Plumbing may not be the least expensive, but they do the job right the first time, which is what is most important to me. I would recommend them to anyone.

Over all it was great. Julie, in the office, was wonderful. She worked with me and my schedule to get someone out. Because of health problems she did all she could to get someone out before the heat came back. She called me before Chris came out to tell me he was on his way. Chris was very professional and found the problem pretty fast after ruling things out. I was very happy with the overall experience. I will definately call them again if any thing else quits on me.

I feared this would be a big, ugly job. I called Henderson Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon; Mike came Monday morning for an estimate and on Thursday morning, Chris and Dave came by and fixed my pipes. That day, Chris arrived promptly at 8AM as promised. He examined everything carefully before he started, then he and partner Dave worked steadily until 4:30, cleaned up, and left me with a fully functional plumbing system. They were swift, professional, terrific at explaining what they were doing at each step of the process. Chris offered some tips on other plumbing issues he saw as he worked--things that don't need to be taken care of now, but might need to be down the road. They did this huge job in a minimally invasive way--only cut a 1'x1' hole in one closet walI to access the stackpipe, way less damage than other plumbers intended to do (the second company I got an estimate from insisted that I take down the entire closet wall before they arrive onsite, which would have caused additional problems due to lead paint worries.) Chris covered my furniture and sealed off doorways to keep the grit to a minimum, so my cleanup consisted of sweeping a couple hallways. The final cost matched the estimate exactly (minus a coupon from Angie's List, of course). Everybody was courteous and straightforward and skilled. These folks know what they're doing, and they do it beautifully. I won't use anybody else from now on. I highly recommend Henderson Plumbing.
