Description of Work: Pat and her assistant George arrived as scheduled. The put on shoe "booties" which indicates a professional respect for other peoples property, and they also provided a tarp on which to lay their equipment. I purchased a "Deal" to have my counter tops cleaned and sealed. Not only did they clean and seal the Granite Counter, they applied a paste wax to make them shine and they wiped down the tile wall between the top of the counter and underside of the cabinets. All in all, a very professional job, by friendly people, with beautiful results. I highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreThe floor looks great! They ground everything down to a nice shiny (and clean) surface. Stains were bleached, scratches were filled in and a couple of holes (after plumbing etc) were filled in. The floor looks great! A smooth and pleasurable experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Description of Work: The job was the restoration of a stained and grimy kitchen floor in terrazzo. Carl and crew was sure to meticulously mask all surrounding areas.

 + -1 moreI had been extremely ambivalent about spending such a large sum of money to make a "cosmetic" improvement to a floor which looked to be in pretty good shape to me, but it made a big difference. Result was wonderful. Floor is 50+ years old and had many scratches and imperfections, including chips and missing grout. Grout was also extremely dirty and discolored. The floor looks markedly improved with the refinishing work and looks truly wonderful. I didn't realize what we had been missing with this floor. Provider was very patient in creating samples of different possible finishes so that I could choose a finish that both my husband and I would be happy with. Provider also gave advice on possible work to other areas of the home. Couldn't be happier with the end result. The floor looks beautiful. Provider took a lot of time and was meticulous with the work and with cleaning up afterwards. It was clear that they really knew their marble and their work and took great pride in creating a wonderful end product. Finally, provider traveled a long distance to get to me because I'm not in their immediate service area. The job entailed their staying overnight in an area hotel to get the job done. The cost would, undoubtedly, have been lower if they had not needed to cover lodging fees and meals. They did a great job.
Description of Work: Refinished large entry foyer made of marble. Included prepping all areas with plastic and tape to ensure surrounding areas would not be damaged, cleaning all grout lines by hand, machine sanding the entire surface, honing, repairing minor chips and cracks with epoxy, adding additional grout where needed, and applying a penetrating sealer to protect the floor from stains. Provider also provided many tips and answered many questions about caring for the marble and cleaning it. Provider was also kind enough to remove some painting residue on marble fireplace hearth/surround.

 + 0 moreThey did a very good job. They showed up as promised and did the job in very good time. The work was excellent! Their price was better than others; it was fair. Their response was very good. The worker who was doing the job wasn't as good as the foreman or the guy in charge.

 + -1 moreMark came to my house on Sunday 7/28 and completed the work on Wednesday 7/31, excellent job on the seam and fixing a chip. Many thanks to Pat for setting me up with Mark to fix this issue.
Description of Work: I received a call back the day after I had left a message. The service I requested was too small a job for this outfit, so they recommended someone (Mark) who has a smaller firm, and gave me that phone number. After a visit to my house to see the issue (a seam that had cracked apoxy and shifted up) I was given an estimate of cost and time and possible solutions. The work was completed the next week in the time estimated and at cost estimated. I am thrilled with the result.

 + 2 moreWe are extremely happy with the project that Pat Staples completed for us. Working with her was a pleasure from the start. She came out to assess the job, provided an estimate shortly thereafter, and started the work on the agreed upon date. She and her assistant, Greg, arrived each day as scheduled, and worked quietly and efficiently, and with no disruption of our schedule. They were really meticulous and remarkably neat, considering the nature of the work. The bathroom was cleaned up at the end of each day. Both of them were very careful when bringing in large equipment. Our 18 year old marble bathroom now looks almost the way it did when first installed. The finished job exceeded our expectations. We appreciate Pat's professionalism and the obvious pride she takes in doing an outstanding job. We enthusiastically recommend Classic Marble to anyone considering marble restoration.
Description of Work: Cleaned and polished marble bathroom, with major work on walk-in shower. This involved sanding the shower floor and walls, removing loose grout and old caulk, grouting where needed and re-caulking, and then polishing and sealing the shower, bathroom floor and walls, and vanity top. Two loose tiles were replaced. In addition, cleaned, sealed and polished a granite countertop in the kitchen.

 + 0 moreThe work Classic Marble and Stone Restoration did for us was absolutely wonderful. The floor had cracks in it that they fixed. It wasn't installed correctly, to begin with. But now it looks better than it did when it was brand new. The work was out of this world. They do wonderful work. I worked with Pat, one of the owners, and she was marvelous to work with. They were very, very accommodating, clean and prompt. The prices are fair. I live kind of far away from them and they came here. I've had a lot of work done here and they were the best workers I've ever had over here. Pat was giving me a lot of tips how to keep it looking nice and things like that.

 + 0 moreFrom the very first phone call with Pat, I could tell she really knew what she was doing and really cared about her work. Pat came to my house to review the job and told me what could be accomplished and how she would do it. She explained how she would thoroughly prepare the area and then use wet-sanding techniques and hydrogen peroxide on some areas that required it. Even though her quote was quite a bit higher than another quote I received, I went with her anyway because I could tell I was going to get better service. I am glad I did. Pat and another worker arrived promptly and spent over 8 hours refinishing a countertop that measures approximately 6'x4'. When they were done, it looked great, not perfect due to some damage that could not be undone, but definitely worth the money. I would hire Pat again for any granite or marble work. She takes a lot of pride in her work and might even care more about your marble or granite than you do!. She even wears booties over her shoes so as to not track dirt from outside!
Description of Work: I had Pat refinish a carerra marble countertop that was damaged with scratches, discoloration, and ring marks.

Description of Work: UPDATE - After leaving my review here on Angie's List I received a call within 24 hrs from Pat Staples. She quickly apologized and said that they had notes that they attempted to call me back twice within a few days of my initial contact back on Dec 14th. However, I never had any messages. Regardless of the miscommunication she asked what I needed and I explained my request. We made an appoint within a couple of days for her to come and look at my countertops. She was in continuous communication from that point forward. When she arrived she was very professional and gave me her expert opinion. As it turns out the issue is the stone itself and there wasn’t much she could offer to do except to try and clean, polish and possibly wax the countertop. Based on the issue and her professional opinion she said that it would most likely not correct the problem I was seeing. I very much appreciate her honestly up front where as she could have performed a service and changed me to clean and polish that still would not have solved the problem. While I did not hire them for this issue, based on my current experience I would reach out to them again in the future for any new work. Pat, thanks again for taking ownership of the miscommunication issue and getting back to me. It was a pleasure to meet you and if I need anything in the future I will make sure to call you first. Thanks again.

 + 0 moreI found Pat on Angie's list and called; she responded within 48 hours. She was there within 5 days to give us an estimate, and her proposal was in my hands within 24 hours after her visit. She was on time for our appointment, and finished well within the timeframe that she gave to my husband and me.
Description of Work: I have been staring at my kitchen granite countertops since Pat left earlier today, and I absolutely can not believe that I have not been tranported back 10 years, when the granite was new. Although we are careful with our granite and have resealed it twice in the intervening years, there was still some hazing happening near the sink that I could not polish out, no matter what I used. Pat and her partner Chris were professional and extremely neat (and I am the princess of neat!) If you have marble or granite that needs polishing and refinishing, and you are not using Pat Staples, you are missing a great experience.

 + 1 moreThis was a delightful experience. Pat from Classic Marble returned my call the next day after my initial request, came to my house that week to do the estimate. Once we agreed on the deal,my service was scheduled for about a month and a half later, which demonstrates how busy this company is, and I can see why. This job was estimated to take 3 days. Pat showed up exactly on time, left great notes detailing the progress, and the house was left immaculate each night. The prep work for detailing the tile floor was very impressive, with plastic protecting my walls from the work that was being done. As far as the quality of the work, I never new this house could look as good as it does right now. My wife and I purchased this property a little over a year ago. I has deep cleaned my kitchen and breakfast area with high steam, so I thought the dark areas of the tile were part of the pattern. I was stunned to see how light the tile was without the dirt, amazing job. The granite counters are equally amazing, with water now beading on the granite, and they actually glow in the light. The marble in the master suite looks like there is a 1/4 inch of water on it, the shine is so visible. Start to finish, everything was perfect, and my wife and I could not be more pleased. I would, and already have, highly recommend this company to all of my friends and family.
Description of Work: We had our granite countertops deep cleaned, and re-sealed. We had cracks repaired in the marble in our master bath, then the marble was sanded and re-glazed. We had over 600 sq foot of tile deep cleaned.

 + -1 moreWe had a new kitchen floor (travertine) installed in August. I was extremely unhappy by the appearance of the floor. Both the contractor and the company that sold the travertine said that the appearance of the floor was common to travertine. Another concern that I had was the quality of both the grouting and sealing. My research on the internet led me to Classic Marble and Pat Staples. I was impressed by Pat from our 1st conversation. She was knowledgeable, honest, and sincere. Pat understood my concern and was very honest about the "look" of travertine.Since I continued to be very concerned about the floor, I asked Pat to look at it and tell me what, if anything, could be done. Pat's visit was informative and she was very specific about what could be done. I decided to contract with Pat, and it was the best decision that I made. i now have a floor that is not marked with excess grout and that has an excellent sealer. In addition, Pat is a wonderful resource. It was my pleasure to work with her.

 + -1 morePat called me back the same day I contacted her. Unfortunately, she does not do what we need done (reinstall an antique marble fireplace front and mantle) but referred me to another person. She said she would call him and ask him to call me. She also asked me to follow up with her if he didn't call me b/c she didn't want to refer people who weren't responsible. In about 15 mins after I hung up with her, her recommended contact called me. He came over the next day and I am waiting for his estimate. I appreciated her honesty and her customer service to refer me to someone else reliable.

 + -1 morePat and her employee Chris did an amazing job. She said the marble was in the worst shape she had seen. They came exactly when they said they would and were extremely professional. She had warned us it would be messy, but told me they would take care of everything. Our master bedroom was taped off and all breakables were moved carefully and put aside. I had put plastic in our vanity to protect the items inside, but she and Chris carefully removed all the drawers and stored everything in our bedroom to prevent damage. Despite losing our master bath for 4 days, they made the inconvenience as little as possible. Every evening, everything was cleaned up so that we could use the bedroom without a mess. I know the process was extremely dusty, but we had no issues with cleanup when they were done. The marble looks perfect and the polish and lustre has been restored. She grouted everything professionally. Importantly, she explained in detail how to maintain the marble and offered to come and show me how to polish it. I had been extremely frustrated with the original installer of the marble because they did not give me information how to maintain the marble despite asking multiple times. Patricia did a terrific, professional, competent job and I would highly recommend her and her company.
Description of Work: refinished the marble in our shower and vanity--it was severely damaged and our attempts to find someone to help us refinish it was difficult.
