Description of Work: I had called Meenan for information on oil delivery and a service contract. After a couple of phone converstions with a salesperson named Beth Burnette, we decided to sign up with them. When I called her back to tell her, she explained that she would email me a contract and once I sent it back, that would constitute our agreement. I told her I needed to read the whole thing before commiting ourselves. The email came with the attachment, but just then my computer failed and so I was unable to print the contract or even get back online. After a few days I was able to print and read the 12 page contract! It had so many clauses, no option to cancel, a $399 penalty for dropping it, and went to next October. We definitely did not want any part of that! When I called her back to tell her she said it was too late, once I had opened the email, it meant we had signed it! She said she could do nothing and I'd have to talk to the sales manager. He was not available then and we could not get a hold of him for a couple of days. Then I called an 800 number to talk to the main office and they could also not help me but gave me another number for the sales manager. He was again not available so I insisted on talking to the overall manager a Mr. Boyce, who was in a meeting. I waited and talked to him but he also said I needed to talk to the sales manager! I finally wrote a certified letter insisting I needed their agreement to our cancelling their contract without penalty - in wiritng! We finally got a letter saying that on 10/1612.

Description of Work: I get my oil as well as have a maintenance plan with Meenan. While I know their oil prices tend to be higher than other companies, I stay with the company because the technicians are wonderful. I have an old oil fired boiler and it required a number of separate service calls over the past 4 years. The technicians are courteous, knowledgeable and do a great job. I have NEVER had a bad experience with a service call. Paying the high price for the Premium plan is well worth it having a old boiler. Moreover, when I call with a problem, the service person is also courteous and they are honest about when the technician can get to the home. If only Meenan's oil prices were a bit more competitive.
