Meenan charges a huge premium for heating oil. Let's face it - #2 heating oil is a commodity and there are literally DOZENS of companies that you can get it from. Meenan won't do COD - they want to lock you in and overcharge you all season long. Meenan routinely charges anywhere from $0.25 - $0.40 per gallon more than the typical COD rate from other companies. And the latter includes solid professional companies who also have services, etc - not just "a guy with a truck". Oil is oil and service is service. Don't confuse the two. And don't get suckered into paying a fortune for commodity oil just because "they've got your back when you need service". We've had COD ever since we got here - 4.5 years, with several different companies. And have gotten fills and service on holidays like new years eve and christmas eve! No contract and no bs and we've been very happy. Include C&L fuel and JC Heating in your search for good service and good oil prices. You won't regret it.

They are our maintenance people for our old system. Our system was forty years and it needed to be replaced. They were prompt and courteous. I called and they had somebody to come out. All their workers were prompt, clean and put their shoe covers on. They were nice and friendly. The work that they did are replacing the old one and putting in a new one. When the license inspector came he said "perfect job and no problem." I like to have them do something and I know it will be done in a neat way.

Meenan called me in May to schedule the annual maintenance for my oil heater (as per my service contract). The appointment was set for June 17th between noon and 5 PM. On June 17th, at about 1 PM, Meenan called to ask if they could reschedule for June 28th (between noon and 5 PM). Per the Meenan representative, this was due to an unusually high demand for their services following storms over the weekend. As I had no other appointments for June 28th, I agreed to the change. The Service Technician came out on June 28th at about 1:30 PM and spent about one hour servicing my heater. The technician was polite. Two complaints about this service call. First, a should have been called before the original appointment time on June 17th to reschedule in case I could have scheduled something else for that time period (as it happened, I did not have anything else to do that afternoon). Second, Meenan's time window is too long. They should be able to give you a two-hour appointment window.

They are good. As a matter of fact, a couple of years ago, I had to switch to them from another company. What happened was the other company mistakenly canceled my automatic deliveries. When I came back from a vacation in the middle of winter, I only had a couple of gallons of oil. When I contacted the company I was dealing with then, they told me that I had approved the cancellation or requested it. To bring an emergency supply of oil to me of 8 or 10 gallons would cost several hundred dollars. I called Meenan and they basically came out in a day or two, we signed a contract and they have been great. I do not have any problems with them. As far as their oil deliveries and service to my furnace, it has been good.

Overpriced service, took advantage of 10 year customer.

This company left us cold for five days over Christmas and made no attempt to get us up and running; but did suggest that we go to a hotel on our dime. I had to do all of the research on my own to find the part, and to have it shipped. Initially, they said that because of the age of the boiler and the company that they "dealt" with for parts, I was probably out of luck and would need to replace the boiler. I was unwilling to accept that and dug up all of the information on the boiler, the manufacturer, and parts and found what was needed. When I had it shipped, Meenan did not have someone to receive it, so we were left high and dry with no apologies WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!! We have been with them for ten years and this sort of treatment of a customer who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on oil is disgusting and a primary reason why you should not use them!!!!!! Their customer service and appreciation is null and void. They are a big company looking to take your money at the end of the day without an ounce of appreciation for your business! Why would you want to put money into that type of company?!

I am on automatic delivery with them and I have a service contract with them. The price I pay is for the service contract. They come in and they check the efficiency of what I have and everything. They keep a record of that. The level that I have is probably the basic level. If something goes wrong, I call them out and they fix pretty much anything. I have a really really old furnace and boiler. I have been dealing with them for years. They are very responsive to the customer. I did need them out last year. My husband was sick and I needed to keep my house warmer than I normally do. We ran out of oil and it was snowing. They were out here in 2 to 3 hours to fill my tank. This year they have been coming around almost every 2 weeks to make sure I don't run out. The price of their fuel is more expensive, but in return I think I am getting what I am paying for. I wanted a new programmable thermostat put in and one serviceman that came out told me he couldn't do it. I can't remember why. I was disappointed because I really wanted to get that in. Particularly after my husband died, if I had to leave the house, I would have to remember to turn the thermostat down before I left and turn it back up when I came in. The same way when I go to bed I would like to be able to turn it down and have it start up before I get up in the morning. I didn't go to them and talk to them about it, but maybe I should talk to somebody.

When I moved into my home in Yardley in 1998, it had an old heater and air conditioner and I got a maintenance contract with Meenan. It turned out to be the single best investment I made the entire time I lived in the house. The heater broke the week before Christmas and Meenan had multiple workers at the house full-time over several days, trying to salvage the old heater, and because of the maintenance contract I didn't pay a cent for it. They weren't able to salvage the heater, so I got a discount on the replacement heater, boiler and air conditioner. They have done the maintenance ever since then. There's typically one or so events per year where the heater doesn't work (usually a clogged something) and it's always on the weekend or at night, and they reliably come within a few hours of the initial call, and work until they get it working. Their workers are always polite and professional, and I can only think of one guy over the years who didn't impress me with his apparent level of knowledge. I would give Meenan an unqualified positive recommendation.

We have used them for 36 years. They have been reliable. If there is a problem, they are out within a few hours. We have been happy with them. Their charges are covered under the service contract. Their staff is very good. Our phone calls are always answered. They are very consumer-oriented. The pricing is competitive. The people who come out are very professional and neat. They are very responsive and punctual. We?ll continue to use them in the future.

Excellent service, but priced a little higher then market. They offer service on holidays and same day service.

During a routine cleaning, the technician determined that there was a leak in the plenum by doing a smoke test. It was a small leak, and we had not had any trouble with the heater before that. Rather than offer us any other options, he told us we needed a new heater, cut the wires to the heater, and left. We contacted another contractor who patched the leak and reconnected the wires for less than $100, and continued using the heater for another ten years. We then had to contact Meenan repeatedly and argue with them to get out of our oil supply contract.

We're happy with them for the most part. I think their prices are a little high, but we like the contract policy that we're on. The service people are all courteous, neat, and professional.

THEIR PRICES ARE VERY COMPETITIVE. I LOVE THEIR MAINTENANCE PLANS. I FEEL SECURE THAT IF MY HEATER BREAKS IN THE WINTER THEY WILL BE OUT VERY QUICKLY. THEY ALSO KEEP MY A/C RUNNING IN THE SUMMERTIME.

WE HATE PAYING YEARLY SERVICE FEES BUT FEEL MORE SECURE HAVING A CONTRACT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.

MEENAN OIL WAS ON TIME AND GAVE A PROMPT DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM. REPAIR WAS DONE ON SITE THE SAME DAY.
