Terminix - Bridgeville -Termite & Pest Control

They are very reliable. When they say they are going to be here, they are here. I think they are a little more expensive than most.

I guess it was OK. It was just checking, I wasn't billed for anything.

We recently purchased a home, and decided to "gut" the basement to prep for re-finishing. When we pulled the paneling down, we found termite tubes. A friend expressed that he had seen a live termite, but they had vacuumed the space so we didn't see any signs of "live" infestation. We had three companies come to inspect our house and only one told us that we had a live/active termite problem. Terminix. Phil was our inspector, he was EXTREMELY thorough. He showed me the live termites after breaking up one of the tubes. He accurately explained that they would most likely rebuild the tube before I left for the evening. I was amazed by these little bugs, so I watched them throughout the day, and behold, within 3 hours of him breaking a 2" portion of the tube, they had built the whole thing back. YIKES. He also explained all of the items that he was looking at/for. He explained how the typical construction of a home our age (circa 1960) was done and what the appropriate method for treating our home. Given I am in the construction industry myself, I everything he said made sense. As I was very happy with their inspection, I hoped to be equally happy with their price. I figured they would either fall in the same range as the other industry leader or just slightly over. They were nearly double!!! I really wanted Terminix to do the work, we were able to negotiate a deal (which is not their standard). Let me tell you, I appreciated it! Within a week, they had scheduled me for my treatment. The treatment professional (insert name of shaved head man who rides motorcycles), also inspected the home and looked over all the areas Phil had addressed on his report, then he got to work (after recommending two great places to eat, thanks!). He drilled two holes at the base of our steps, and into the foundation wall that housed the termites. He also explained that while the treatment did not kill them on contact (we'd see them for a bit longer) it would eventually kill them because they'd be unable to molt. He patched all said holes, and treated the exterior of the home with a bait system. They are barely noticeable. I'm a moderately curious person, but I have not bothered to check that they put the bait in. Terminix was a pleasure to hire, and I would do it all over again. Thanks guys! OH, my only complaint: they haven't come back to check the bait... which I thought they said they would do. I should probably get on the phone, but as far as I can tell we don't have termites in our basement anymore!

Terminix provides an ongoing service for termite and pest control. They come approximately every 3-4 months to spray around the outside foundation. They are available to check any concerns that I may have inside or outside the home. I feel their services are reasonably priced. I have had no issues with infestations of any kind. The cost varies from a maintenance fee to a specific spraying if necessary. Their technicians are friendly and very helpful with answering questions. They let you know when they arrive and unless you have any concerns, they give you an approximate time of how long they will be there.

We purchased our home Oct 13, it was an estate sale an in need of insect control, thus, we contracted with this company for their quarterly service. They told me that if we did not need the service that quarter then I could simply cancel the appointment and we would not be charged - the only way we are charged is for actual services provided. The first appointment went fine, no issues, we did notice continued insects until winter hit harder however it was vacant for awhile, so I thought it was to be expected. The next two quarters/appointments - horrible! The 2nd appointment was in the dead of winter, snow everywhere. We were unable to be home during their hours so I rescheduled the appointment, however noticed a charge to my card. I checked my online account and noticed they claim they showed up anyhow and sprayed - where the snow outside? I called and complained and did write it off as a fluke. So we had them come back out and spray inside. More recently for the 3rd appointment/quarter, they did the same thing! We had something come up (as they set you up for automatic appointments at strange times), and I rescheduled it online. Again I see a charge on my card and see they came anyhow or so they claim per the online account- needless to say that day it was very rainy and we were not home. I called and they noted they would make note of my complaint - really that's it? To make it worse - we have tons of carpenter ants, spiders -eww, both inside and out- so I had to go and purchase my own spray and insect killer- as no one would get back to me. They had not problems charging me over $120 for the so called visit though. Could not be more unhappy. We are happy to pay for services actually PROVIDED.

We have had termite issues a couple of times because I live in a really wooded area and so they are the ones that take care of that for me. I pay them every quarter. I am really pleased with what they have done. Twice a year, they go completely around the base of my house and that seems to keep most of the little bugs out of my house which is good. Actually, they do that all four times that they are here but particularly for the kind of pests that just like to crawl under your door and all that kind of stuff and then they do different parts of my yard or they check for the termites twice a year. They check on the outside and they will come inside at anytime that I think that I have a concern. Once they have done the treatment which they did two years ago, they have a guarantee for a long time, say 20 years, that I would not have any termite damage inside my house and if I do, they will come right out. They are very good to work with. I even told the technician that I think that I do not get as many stink bugs now since they do that all the time and he said, "Well, I am not allowed to tell you that that is what is doing it but if you think that it is, that is good." Because they are not allowed to make that claim because everybody says that there is nothing that will kill them but I think that it cuts down on the population.

Terminix is a very reputable and professional service. I would recommend their services in the future.

Terminix could not prove that they did the work they were paid to do and was not responsive to my attempts to resolve the issue. I needed legal aid to get my refund which took over 5 months.

They apparently do the job just fine. I cannot fill in the "cost" space because each time is a bit different AFTER they get our bill sorted out.

They were just way too high in price. The guy was just rumbling, trying to sell all sorts of insurance policy and stuff.

Had mice sneaking in through the soffit. Called my Terminix rep. He came out and took care of the mice. We got to talking and he mentioned the insulation service. I was researching insulation services at the time. Great product and great service. Very comparable to the other insulation providers I received estimates from as far as product. The price was much better with Terminix Heating bill has greatly reduced and no more mice!

I went with someone else because they were a lot more higher and I was looking for the best quality with the best deal possible. It was for our new house, we had to get a pre-construction of pest control where they had to do a whole foundation and everything before they can even start on the house, they had to pre-do the thing. Mostly it was for termites but they do other stuff too. They have to come and deal with it before you start building your foundation and then build your house. They came by and they were very professional, he seem to know what he was doing, it seems like he was trying to tell us more than what we actually needed. All we needed was a certificate saying that it was pre-approved that there was no termites where we've lived, there couldn't be any termites anywhere. As soon as he came by, he said, "Because you lived in the park and there's so much acid," and we have to put on a couple hundred bills and we had no grudge whatsoever because the earth is so acidic that the termites won't even be in the ground. He said he's not going to quote us for something that we don't have, he said he would spray for any other pests when we would our foundation when we start doing the wood part of it and termites could get in the way. He said he's not going to do it because it would be for nothing, the quote was like $850 and I ended up going to someone with half that price or it might even be more than that. He did know what he was talking about but he was trying to upsell. The response time was very good, I'm still receiving all kinds of letters from them probably every 3 or 6 months in which they would come out and do it once a month in case we needed those kinds of things or anything like that.

We had recently removed a tree stump in the yard and shortly after had noticed a couple of carpenter ants in the house. Even though I routinely spray the inside and outside of our home with home defense, I thought that it would be in our best interest to have it professionally treated one time only. When I called to make the appointment I explained to the rep what my situation was and that I wanted the house to be treated one time only. I had been warned by several friends not to sign a contract for routine treatments because it is a timely process to cancel your service and that they continue to show up and bill you. They did show up at the scheduled time and before I allowed the technician to spray I explained once again that It would be a one time only treatment. He was honest enough to tell me that the contract was written up for four services a year. He actually told me that if I signed the contract that it would be difficult to cancel the service in the future. I then told him that I would not sign the contract and that I would not need his services. He called his supervisor and explained that I would not sign the contract for repeated service. The supervisor told him to change the paperwork to state a one time only treatment. I agreed to allow him to spray and paid the one time only charge. Three months go by and my daughter calls me at work and says there is a Terminix truck in the driveway. I told her to go outside the house and find the technician. Sure enough, he was spraying my house. My daughter handed him the phone and he stated that he was instructed to treat the house. I abruptly told him that I never signed a contract and that he was not permitted on my property and to stop what he was doing and leave the property immediately. I immediately called and spoke with one of the reps and explained everything. He stated that he would cancel our contract. I reminded him that I never signed a contract and was disconnected. I immediately called back again and spoke with another rep. She said that it was noted that I requested a cancellation of the contract and continued to tell me that they had a signed contract. I told her that I never signed one and I would like a copy of what she had. I requested that an email be sent to me verifying that I would not be billed for any additional services. She informed me that someone from the regional office would contact me with in forty-eight hours. It's been five day and I haven't heard from them yet. Time will tell if they attempt to bill me for services I did not authorize. Even though I thought that I took every precaution by not signing a contract, I found myself having to deal with exactly what everyone had warned me about. I believe that their attempt to retreat my house without my permission to be unprofessional and deceitful. Be very careful!

Could not justify that amount of money for a small amount of service

The Terminix was awful. We called Terminix about bed bugs. The guy came out and gave us a quote. He explained exactly what he was going to do. When he came out to do it, he didn't do what he said he was going to do. We have a four-bedroom house. The one bedroom, the guy couldn't even get into it. He never even told us. They were supposed to come one week later. They didn't come for three weeks. They still didn't do what they were supposed to do. Their method of killing bed bugs was a freezing method. They were supposed to get rid of them. They didn't do anything. It was awful. We talked to the manager and explained things to him. He returned our money.

Installer came and also checked for termite damage and infestation thru out my house prior to installing traps. Was very professional.

I have not been able to get a hold of him since.

Did not make appointments to do interior of the home and came when we were not home and left a card saying they sprayed the exterior and inspected the termite detectors and found not infestation. We do not know if they actually did anything when they came and they would not agree to making appointments ahead of time so that they could spray the interior of the home. So we cancelled our contracts with them.

Have only had the initial service. Exterminator was here for about an hour.

Due to storm sewer work in our neighborhood, a very bold rat appeared in our yard. It was out during the day and was fearless. We called Terminix who sent a man out the next day. He explained to us the habits of rats and set a trap--we do not know where--and we never saw the rat again. What more can I say? All A's for Terminix!

They came very quickly and took care of the situation.

It went just fine. Technician was very friendly, on time, and honest. We signed up for their yearly contract. My only complaint so far is that "sales" omitted some very important information when I first signed up a few months ago. I told them my immediate issue was stink bugs. They said no problem, the work is guaranteed, and proceeded to accept my contract and money. When the technician arrived, he quickly told me there is no way to guarantee removal of stink bugs. Since that was the primary issue I was trying to address, this was upsetting. Of course he was right since a week after the first spraying, many stink bugs returned. My only recourse for this is to recall him to my house which is what I've done. Terminix said they guarantee the work, so I'll keep bringing them out as many times as needed. On the bright side, our technician has given us many tips to reduce the stink bugs outside of spraying and some of those tips appear to be effective.

Great service, they arrive ontime 4 times per year.
