Coleman-Mitchell Heating & A/C Inc

We moved into our house in August. Prior to, the home inspector told us the whole house humidifier does not work and needs fixed. The home owner said it worked fine. However, come to find out months later, the home inspector was indeed right. After searching for a local/close HVAC company, I discovered Coleman-Mitchell here on Angie's List. I contacted them and spoke to Angela the dispatcher/office manager. Very pleasant and easy to talk to, she scheduled our appointment. The day of the initial visit, I received a call from a technician saying he was 20 minutes away. 10 minutes later, he called back and said he had an emergency to where he needed to respond to. A little disappointed but at least he gave a courtesy call was made rather than leaving us hanging. A technician by the name of Matt called and said he will be here in 20 minutes and he arrived. Matt had got to the problem and found that we had a bad switch. He replaced it the following week (after I made another appointment with Angela along with a HVAC service call for the same day). Matt was prompt, professional and efficient. Didn't sell us a line of sh*t, fixed what was broke, and took great care of us. We will not hesitate to call Coleman-Mitchell for any HVAC needs.

I have had 2 separate problems with professionalism and customer care in the past 2 years. Most recently, I had an appointment to get a Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump purchased from Home Depot up and running in a small (11 x 12) unheated addition at one of our rental properties. It was installed by a professional contractor after a line was run by a professional electrician. All of the online reviews on the product stated that an a/c tech had been called in to shorten and vacuum the lines after it had been installed. Easy. After waiting 5 days for a service call, Ray arrived, but after 30 minutes of working on the unit, he left saying that Randy had called him to leave on emergency calls and the office would call to reschedule. When I called the office to find out when we could reschedule, Angie told me that because they did not install the unit and because Ray reported that the unit was installed completely backwards, they would not service it AT ALL. It is NOT TRUE that the unit is incorrectly installed nor was it true that Ray was called out for emergencies. My first problem with professionalism and customer service at Coleman Mitchell was in the summer of 2012. That time, my pre-purchased summer maintenance agreement call had been set up for a Saturday BY COLEMAN MITCHELL. The tech had done something that made the a/c unit NOT work. It was a 100 degree day and we had a graduation party planned for the following day! The man who answered my phone call that Saturday (Ray?) said it would cost us double to have a service call on a Saturday. No matter how I tried to explain that it was Coleman Mitchell who had chosen a Saturday for a maintenance call and that the tech left us with no a/c, this man would not understand and eventually hung up on me. I did get a call-back from the owner, Jim. He apologized and I continued to use Coleman Mitchell faithfully after that, but I will no longer use them now. I told both Mike and Angie that I would be leaving an" F" review here and both of them said that was okay with them. Angie said that they didn't own the company. UPDATE: The poor rating was given for poor customer service and unprofessional conduct. The tech walked off of the job AFTER beginning it and lied about having to leave for emergency work. The customer service representative was rude in her explanation. Neither the tech nor the management told me that they would not be able to perform the job. PITTSBURGH COMFORT TECH INC was happy to accommodate us. The unit was up and running in less than 1 1/2 hours and the unit had been installed completely correctly. Coleman Mitchell took the word of a tech who does not know what he is doing. I didn't even mention that he had showed up to the wrong address and hadn't called in advance as planned. My business is all now going to PITTSBURGH COMFORT TECH INC.

My experience with them is excellent. When we call them, they are pretty prompt in getting here. The major job that they did for me a few years back was handled very professionally. Anything that had to be done, they did it, and they were very professional about it. So everything was handled very well. Anytime there has been a problem, they have been here the same day to take care of it. If something had to carry over, they came back the next day. They did a pretty good job. Their prices were pretty comparable; in most cases, a little bit lower than everybody else in the area.

They were very professional and punctual. Beat a competitors price by $600. I was very pleased with their work and will continue to use them and recommend them in the future.

Coleman-Mitchell Heating & A/C Inc's price was real reasonable compared to all the people we solicited a price from. A neighbor recommended them and they are local. I like to use local people if I can. The workers who came out were very professional, did very good work, they were in and out in a day, and everything was done exactly the way we wanted it. Coleman-Mitchell Heating & A/C Inc followed up with calls to make sure everything was okay. They have a service agreement where they will come out every Spring and Fall to clean and give you an overall check up on each of your pieces of equipment so we hired them to do that as well.

He was slightly higher than the third provider we got an estimate from, but when I called him he agreed to lower his price. He was the only one of the three dealers who told me about the $750 federal rebate. They did a really good job.

Very prompt, very thorough. Answered all questions. My only complaint is the cost of adding freon, but that may be simply the market.

We called multiple people to give us estimates. The ones that did come out to give estimates were pretty high. We had one person give us a decent estimate and they never called back for the service. After finding Coleman-Mitchell on here, we decided to have them come out. Not only were they one of the lower bids, but they were very professional and responded in a timely fashion to all inquiries. My AC and Heat were replaced within 2 weeks and it only took one day for the job.

I contacted the company to request a routine service visit and received an immediate response. I also asked for a specific service rep, Matt, who had coordinated the furnace installation last year. Matt contacted me quickly and arranged an appt. I purchased a new furnace last year and the first furnace check was at no charge. He checked the furnace to make sure the new unit was functioning properly, flushed the drainage lines, and changed the air filter. He also performed maintenance on the air conditioner performing a 15 point inspection and cleaned it. Matt was punctual, thorough, professional and courteous. I highly recommend this company and will continue to use them for all of my furnace and AC maintenance and repairs. You could not ask for a more professional team.

I hired a very good air duct cleaning company to clean my vents on a Friday. I was extremely pleased with their work, however, during the process, something happened to the blower on my furnace. It would not turn back on. The air duct person worked on it as much as he could and then needed to phone his company for assistance. Several furnace companies with whom the air duct company relied upon in cases like mine were phoned, but could not come to help as it was almost 5 pm. Luckily for me, they looked on Angie's List and found Coleman-Mitchell Heating & A/C. The air duct company assured me that Coleman-Mitchell would show up within the hour to fix my furnace, so I paid them in full and they left. Within 30 minutes, Bobby arrived. He was a very nice and funny young man who was a pleasure to have in my home. He put on the little blue booties and immediately got busy trying to identify the problem. It wasn't long and he knew exactly what was wrong. He explained things to me and taught me how my furnace showed a code using lights to determine the problem. He was patient with me while I asked questions. He put my mind at ease by checking all of the wires that I said the air duct person touched while cleaning my system. He was knowledgeable. He was personable. He actually talked with my mother and 84 year old grandmother! I appreciated that. It was after 5 in the evening and you could tell that he wasn't just trying to "get done." When he determined he needed an electrical panel and wasn't sure he would have it on his truck, I told him it wouldn't be a problem and that he could come back on Monday. He said he did not want my children and I to have to wait to be able to use the furnace. I know that he was genuine in his statement. You could just tell he was a good person. Luckily, though, he had the part and he fixed the furnace in no time. He phoned the air duct company to arrange for them to pay the bill and assured me that everything would be taken care of. He was correct. Coleman-Mitchell worked out the payment with my air duct cleaning company and I paid nothing. I made sure Bobby put a Coleman-Mitchell magnet on my furnace in the event that I need their services in the future. I would absolutely call them again and I will absolutely recommend them--and certainly Bobby to my friends and family. Coleman--Mitchell should be proud to have Bobby representing their company. Top notch professionalism from start to finish. Sales representative was prompt and courteous. Very punctual - called to let me know when he would arrive. He reviewed every aspect of the services to be performed, including estimated time to do the installation. The installers removed the old furnace quickly, and installed the new one. They recommended a flue liner to prevent back drafts to the hot water heater. I had a technician back to detail a couple of minor items at no charge. I also had them perform and AC check last spring after the furnace installation and they found that the outside power supply safety outlet had been disconnected by a previous HVAC supplier. This was corrected immediately. They cleaned the AC unit and leveled it since the ground had shifted underneath the AC pad. They are honest, courteous, responsive and provide excellent service.

We came home to a very cold house. The temperature outside was dipping into the teens . We called Coleman Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning. It was around 7pm when my husband called. They had the on-call technician call us. He not only called but but showed within the hour to assess the problem. It was the Ignitor that wasn't working. He didn't have the right ignitor with him but, He offered space heaters for the evening. He was back and had the problem fixed by 10am. Now That Is Service! The technician name is Robert R. He was very professional and friendly. We couldn't be more pleased with their service or prices.

Making the appoinment was easy & requested a morning. The service person called ahead of time & came when he said he would. He was very thorough in checking my furnace & we asked for some advise about replacing the furnace & about getting more heat to a room that is typically cold. He was very informative. I also purchased an 'insurance' package that includes a spring tune up on the air conditioner. I was very satified with the work that was performed.

Called first thing in the morning. Serviceperson arrived same day, on time. Diagnosed problem and fixed A/C unit while there. Excellent service - prompt, curteous, professional, described problem and needed fix in detail.

I used them because of their great reviews on Angie's List. I have seen their service vehicles around, but I chose them primarily because of their good reports. My experience with them was excellent.

Customer service is excellent. They are very responsive. Easy to set an appointment. The technician was very knowledgeable and only took about an hour to finish the job. Excellent communication, very good with returning phone calls.

They did the work in a timely manner and were easy to work with. They also installed a vent from the furnace through the chimney with out any problems.

Work was performed in a neat and mannerly way with old units removed and disposed of. Installers took care to make sure area of work was kept clean. They wore covers on their shoes when they had to go up into the living areas of my home. Owner was on site to instruct installers of work scope and to make sure that I was assured that the work quoted was in fact the work that was going to be accomplished. I was very pleased with the job in general and would recommend this company to anyone. There was an issue on the next two days following installation with the limit switch on the gas furnace but immediate attention to this matter was given by the company and the issue resolved. I was pleased with service technicians sent out to address the issue and their knowledge of the unit. Again, I was most pleased with this company.

Will only use these folks. The experience is consistent every time.

They came out a couple times to work on our furnace that they had installed in October. They are quick and flexible. I would definitely recommend them to friends and other people.

I signed up for a quarterly maintenance plan so they come to do a pretty thorough checkup of my heating and cooling system and thy change filters if needed. I pay $150 a year for this service. I will continue to use them.

We just switched to them and are very pleased with them. They are extremely professional, very knowledgeable and very punctual. They wear shoe covers when they come into the house; they are very respectful of our property. They are reasonably priced. The last time around, we had to pay their after hour fee, which was high, but given our circumstances, that was understandable. We have a one-year-old child, and we didn’t mind the price; we just had to have it taken care of. We would rate them highly.

He was at our home almost immediately after the call was made. It was at least 90 degrees, and he was Johnny on the spot in our home. He was knowledgeable, fixed the a/c unit and was on his way. He called the next day to follow up and make sure everything was still working okay on the air conditioner, as it was very hot outside. His price was reasonable.
