I called Nicholas to change out an old fuse box. John called back within two hours and he came over that afternoon to give us an estimate. He checked the outside wiring and the fuse panel. I knew it needed to all be swapped out. He gave us the estimate, we gave him to go ahead and he said he would call first thing when he got in the office the next morning. The next day he called as promised and we set a date for the following week. I had to call to cancel due to work and we set up a new date for the following week. John and his helper was there at 8:00 am, the time promised and was finished in about 5 hours just like he said. They were very professional, started on time, and finished when said. Would and will call them again for some additional work we have.

I am totaly and extremely satistified with the Nicholas Electric work and professionalism. I had to move the starting date of the work because my brother whom lived out of town was dying of lung cancer and Nick worked with me on two or three different start dates and very accomodating. I can't say enough about the electricians whom came into my home. I don't ever believe I had such great professional workers in my home ever like the team from Nicholas. We had John as our project manger, he did a great job: made the minimal damage to our old home to fix the nob and tube when cutting out holes. they did a great job on cleaning up every day. and finished on time.

Owner is honest and gives his estimate wisely. Knowledgeable and courteous crew. All work was done by the book and to code. No shortcuts. With quality work, it was more expensive and took longer than any other quote received. Great job.

We bought an 85 year old house and found it had few plugs in the bedrooms. We wanted to add new lines and clean up old wiring in the attic to be safe. We received an estimate within a week ... and workers showed up within a week of our accepting the bid. We were lead to believe (by our home inspector) that most of the wiring was new, but instead the electricians found previous owners had put new wiring in the basement splicing it to old wiring in the walls. We want to add blown-in insulation and asked John and Greg to check for old knob and tube wiring .. and found most of the house still had it. We had the K and T eliminated in order to insulate. This doubled the work and price. The guys were friendly, prompt, explained things well, didn't make me feel pressured to make decisions. They were patient when I had a question or idea that changed things a bit. I only wish someone had told me how messy it is. The guys were great about putting down tarps, cleaning up daily, etc. Even so, a kind of grit was everywhere. I would have covered more or moved more items out of the rooms they were working in if I'd known. Absolutely everyone we've asked said putting in the new wiring was a good idea. We sleep better at night knowing the new wiring is designed for modern demands.

We recently purchased a 4000sq. ft. home built in 1910 that is in desperate need of major renovations. The existing electric service was approximately 100amps, there was a haphazard fuse box, and lots of old wiring. We wanted a complete home rewire, and requested several estimates. Nicholas Electric was very prompt in returning our initial call, arrived on time for the estimate, performed a detailed inspection, pointed out current code violations, and was very honest up front about the costs. We went with them for several reasons. First, their estimate was one of the cheaper ones we received. Second, the estimate was a very thorough (6 pages), room-by-room, itemized document that we thought really spoke about their attention to detail and level of organization. Third, they came highly recommended by a friend of ours. Fourth, other Angie's list reviews were glowing. We really couldn't have been more pleased with their work. I was immediately struck with their organization. They spent close to a day mapping out each room's needs and then posted "worksheets" of the project timeline on the basement wall which I used to track their progress when I returned home late from work every night. They cleaned up after themselves. They presented several solutions to unexpected challenges along the way. And we also opted for a couple of add-ons during the process, including installation of cable lines and some additional lighting. Very professional. Very polite. Minimal holes in our existing walls which didn't concern us too much since the next phase will include plastering and painting. Highly recommended!

I met with Nick for a free estimate a little prior to closing on the house so we could get started on this large task before we moved in. He took a fair amount of time to walk through the home with me and discussed openly why this was a challenging project and the experience his team had in doing this type of work. Nick was prompt in getting back to me throughout the entire process. The crew ended up starting a week late and took a few days longer than anticipated, but Nick checked with me to make sure this was okay. It still worked with our timeline so it was not a big deal. They spent about 3 weeks in our home and managed to do it with relatively minimal damage to the walls. We were left with a bunch of holes to patch and replaster. Nick gave me a guesstimate on how much it would cost to patch, but he was pretty far off (told me less than 1k, the estimates I got were about 2k)... ended up just doing it ourselves in the end. The initial quote I got was for a little over 10k, as the project went on we figured out some things that we hadn't thought of initially such as wiring the bedrooms (6 of them) for cable tv, a few extras in the master bath that we hadn't thought of such as recessed lighting and floor heat, and rewiring some fixtures on the first floor that we lost power to because of how the original knob and tube was wired. Of note, if you want to reuse old fixtures, they have to be rewired internally, we only did that for a few fixtures and took them to Typhoon lighting in Regent Square at one of the crews suggestion. Ultimately, everything works great and looks great. If you have an old home with knob and tube wiring and you want to modernize it for safety and functionality, Nick is your man.

My husband and I are so thankful that we found Nicholas Electric. We had been renovating our home since March and had worked successfully with many contractors. We came to be in quite a predicament when our 1st electrician stopped working after beginning the complicated task of rewiring our house. We weren't exactly sure how to proceed since we've never had someone not fulfill their end of the contract. We had lost about a month of time and we realized we had to move on. We decided to interview several more companies who could hopefully figure out the work that had been started and complete the rewire. Nick Glova came to our house and made me trust that Nicholas Electric would be able to complete the work. He stated they would not stop until everything was finished. We settled on an agreement that day, which was Wednesday. The work was to begin Monday. To my surprise, I received a phone call the following morning asking if it would be alright if a couple of the guys came that day to start to work on our house. Of course I was thrilled that progress was going to begin so soon! The two guys that came were there each day for the next 14 days; like Nick said, "Until it was done." Sometimes they were joined by other electricians from the company. There were a couple of days when five men were there! The men employed by Nicholas Electric proved time and time again to be professional, industrious, and knowledgeable. There was much to talk through and a lot of decisions make. They were extremely communicative and kept me involved in any decisions that should be made by the home owner. At the same time, I felt very assured in trusting them with using their experience to make professional decisions when appropriate. I appreciated the fact that they cleaned any remaining debris after their workday. After the rough in was complete, my husband and I had several other projects lined up to be accomplished before Nicholas Electric returned to do the trim out. Nick was very accommodating when I requested an extra week before they returned. Again, I was pleased with the work that was done. We had several new ceiling fans, recessed lighting, antique chandeliers, and many outlets that needed to be installed. The same electrician that was in charge of the rewire did all of the work. He was conscientious in putting all of the fixtures in place properly. At this point in time, we were living in our house, and I felt comfortable having him there. I cannot begin to express how appreciative I am of Nicholas Electric Co. I know the work and service they provided for me and my husband is the same very high quality that anyone else would receive. We absolutely will utilize electrical services from Nicholas Electric in the future. Furthermore, anyone that I know that ever expresses a need for an electrician will receive a glowing recommendation for Nicholas Electric Co.

My husband and I were very impressed with the men who worked on our home, both in the job they did and they way they conducted themselves professionally. The same three guys came each day and they were very courteous, friendly, and polite. I was very comfortable having them in our home. They were respectful in both the way they acted and the way they spoke. In addition, they were punctual and I never saw them doing anything but working. If you've ever had electric work done, you know that it can be a very invasive procedure (holes in walls, ceilings, etc...). The head electrician was sure to keep me informed on the holes they would have to make every step of the way as they progressed through the house. In my opinion, they did a clean job of cutting uniform holes and kept the holes to a minimum. They were very respectful of my things and thoroughly cleaned up (swept, vacuumed, and wiped down) each room as they worked. They used drop cloths everywhere they worked as to not soil the carpet or the floors. The electrical work that they did was above and beyond. They made sure to not cut any corners and definitely put in the right amount of circuits that we needed. In fact, I feel as if they educated my husband and I a great deal on electrical work while they were here (a field we both knew next to nothing about before). All the fixtures they installed were done very cleanly and professionally- they even took extra time to swap out a couple lights that I wanted to exchange. Overall I am so thankful that we chose Nicholas Electric to do our rewire for us. They included many more circuits and "little extras" in their bid than other companies did. I could tell by taking to Nick that he puts great emphasis on safety, Code, and doing things the right way. We will definitely be using Nicholas Electric Co. in the future when we remodel the addition on our house or any other time we need electric work.

Great! Nick was very responsive from the initial inquiry up through the end of the job. Love that they work with email for proposals, invoices, scheduling, etc. I had another quote and theirs came in slightly lower. If they had been equal I still would have selected Nicholas Electric due to their overall professionalism and customer service orientation. They arrived on time for estimate and job. The electricians who did the job were very polite and explained in terms a non-electrician could understand. They completed the job while we were at work. I recommend them without hesitation and would use them again.

I contacted Nick Glova to get an estimate for repairs. Mr. Glova was extremely professional and explained everything he found step by step during the inspection on the Home we were in the process of purchasing. His estimate was even less than that of the Real Estate Agent's chosen electrical service organization. After receiving the estimate, the Real Estate Agent contacted later saying he was able to get his electrician to complete the same work as Mr. Glova quoted for significantly less. My father and I were very impressed with Nicholas Electric's professionalism and decided to pay the extra for Mr. Glova's company to complete the work. I am SO very glad we paid the additional funds!!! The work crew was extremely professional, the repairs and upgrades were completed exactly as quoted and in the exact time frame slotted for the work and the finished electrical equipment is a shining example of a top rate Electrician's work. I would absolutely contact Nicholas Electric for future work and I'll be recommending the company to anyone I know!!!

It went well. Professional, reasonable price, and quick response ... all on a Sunday morning at 8am emergency service call because our main breaker would not reset. What more can you ask for.

It went very smoothly. Two men came to do the work, it took them two full days. They did not need to put nearly a** many holes in the walls as I thought they would. Afterward, they cleaned up nicely. Everything works and looks great! I will be using them again in the future.

Nicholas employees were honest with us on every aspect of the project, including the quotes and any work changes. They were utterly professional, always arriving on time, working hard, being as quiet as possible, making as few holes in the walls as possible (and making them as small as possible), and cleaning up after themselves. They were also incredibly thoughtful in their planning and layout of the electrical connections. Plus everything was done correctly and there were never any problems that required calling them back. When we realized that we had a problem, I contacted a friend who had used Nicholas Electric & was very pleased with the results. I called my friend for the phone #, then checked angieslist, then read the Nicholas web page .I called Nick, & the crew was here in just a few days, with a very satisfactory result. All of our electrical problems have been resolved. we were very happy with the service, & the outcome.

They were efficient, cleaned up after themselves and even did a little extra work for me. They were very nice and personable. There were two men. One explained every detail of what they were doing, twice. He explained to me why I needed the things I needed. They came on time; I did not have to ruin my day waiting.

The work went very well and we were most excited to arrive home in the dark last night and finally have our outside lights guiding our way.

We were pleased with most of their work. However, there were a couple of things after they had left that we weren?t thrilled about. We don?t know whether it is customary for electricians to do patch the holes that they cut in the walls. We still haven?t managed to get the holes plastered even after a year. They had told us upfront that they wouldn?t plaster the holes in the walls. We can?t blame them for that. They certainly did good work. They did a lot of work for a good price. They were just missing out on few details. There were certain things that didn?t seem to be going very well, as we had anticipated. They were very responsive to the issues. It wasn?t explicitly agreed upon that they would clean up the dust that came out of the wall. We might use them again, but we have to think about the hole in the wall problem.

Nick came out and reviewed the work I wanted (initially to install the 9 recessed lights and bring Kitchen up to code). Written quote was e-mailed to me within 6 hours of his visit. Once accepted, we scheduled the work to commence in 5 days time. Crew of 2 Jim (lead) and Greg arrived on time and promptly got to work. Completed all work within 4 days time as predicted. Cleaned up after themselves every day (like they were never there). Work was neat, clean and very professional. They took the time to answer all of my 'dumb homeowner' questions and were even nice to the dog. If you need work done at your house you must consider this outfit. I would not even consider someone else if I had electric work to do in the future.
