Nicholas Electric Co Inc

This is the second time we've used Nicholas Electric, and I plan on using them again. They are reasonable, very skilled, show up when they say they will. and clean everything up when finished. I am very glad a friend recommended them to me.

Showed up promptly, got the work done quickly, and cleaned up. Great, fast service. And, we got a quote from him for a larger project we are considering.

Having your whole house re-wired isn't exactly the best way to spend a month, but we're glad we did it, and we're glad we used these guys. Very professional and courteous. They stayed true to the contract price even when they ran into a few snags as the house is fairly old (1930s) and unpredictable at times. Overall a great company, and we're very satisfied with the work performed.

Right on time. Worked quickly. Happy with result. Cleanup okay except left some dust from tile cutting work on counter and sink.

John called the night before to check the appointment time. He arrived about ten minutes before the time, which was great. We looked over the gas line, meter, and basement. He installed the ground for the gas meter and gas line. Next he looked at a plug that was not working in the kitchen. Most probably, the original wiring for the plug done by the previous owner was faulty, and the neutral wire was loose somewhere. As fixing the plug right now would have involved more work than I was ready to take on at the moment, he removed the faulty plugs, capped the wires, and replaced the plate with one that closes the gap. We then discussed how to fix the issue without major kitchen renovation. He gave me a price that seemed good, and I said I would save up and give him a call. John was punctual, professional, and did great work. I would use his services again.

They arrived on time, worked all day, and cleaned everything up. Very professional and courteous.

The project went very smoothly from day one. John H was on site the first day with Brandon and they replaced the service entrance, wire and meter box and had power back on in less than 5 hours. Then they started running all the new copper wire runs and had that finished on day three. The new runs were through the basement drop ceiling and open ceiling in the laundry room but they managed to get access to all locations where needed. They added one more electrician on day three to help move the project along and that's when they started to do the aluminum repair work. They had to add Alumiconn connectors and create a copper pigtail which then was used to connect to the receptacle or switch (all hot, neutral, and ground wires were completed this way). On day four they brought in 4 electricians and were able to complete all the repairs and install the ceiling fan ( with remote control). After all the work was completed they scheduled the inspector to come in (one week later). The inspector checked the new panel, and had them open up receptacles and switches in every room to verify the work was acceptable. He signed off on the panel and the pigtail work, and the new circuits added. The original estimator and project coordinator was (John B) and he was very prompt when answering any of my text messages or phone calls. When there was an issue with removal of construction debris John had one of the men stop by to pick it up (since it was too heavy for me to carry curbside). I was very impressed with the work that they did, and would definitely use them for other electrical work. They were prompt, courteous, and professional at all times. I especially liked working with John B and John H. All of my interactions with this company were excellent. It is very hard to find contractors with this type of work ethic so I was very pleased to find them. While I originally found them in the yellow pages, I went to Angie's list to follow up and read the reviews before giving them the ok to start the work. Their prices were very fair and they even allowed for a Sr. Citizen discount...

I originally bought the coupon, and the gentleman (John, maybe?) came out as scheduled. He wasn't able to install the kitchen outlet I wanted due to the age of my house/electrical panel, but he was able to put in two light fixtures in the hall, install a new doorbell, and fix a switch that was wired funny in the two hours. Before he left he gave me an estimate for the work to put in a new panel and the outlet I wanted. I was very pleased with his work, professionalism, and good communication. As a female home alone with a baby that day I felt very comfortable having him in the house. The next month we had Nicholas Electric come out to do the panel. The owner came with two young men he was training. All three were professional and respectful of my home and family. I would recommend this company to anyone. There was a slight issue with the estimate due to an outside shut-off being required by code due to there being a storage area between the exterior wall where the meter is located, and the interior wall where the panel was to be installed, but that was a simple oversight on the part of the gentleman who gave me the original estimate and I don't count that against the company at all. It was brought to my attention immediately on the day, and the owner went ahead and did all the work he could that day (due to the odd lay-out some parts had to be ordered), then returned a week later to put the new panel in. They even arranged for the county inspector to come by and included his fees in the work, which saved me a lot of time and hassle. We have been very pleased with all the work Nicholas Electric did in our home, and plan on using them in the future for any electrical work we need done. I cannot recommend them highly enough. All four of the gentlemen I met were exemplary, they had great communication skills, any concerns were brought to me immediately and I felt no pressure to make any snap decisions, and the price was more than competitive based on the two other estimates I got for the same work.

The work was done quickly and efficiently. He was finished well within the 2 hour time period. I was completely satisfied.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went fine. The people who came out to do the work were nice and professional. I did not have any complaints with them.

John responded quickly to my initial phone call and scheduled an appointment to prepare an estimate. He arrived on time and was very curtious and professional. He provided an estimate by email within 24 hours. On the agreed upon date of installation, the workers arrived on time. They were professional and curtious. They did all the work that was requested within a reasonable amount of time and cleaned up after the work was done. I was very satisfied with their service and would recommend them to other members.

Went well. It was done at my daughter's house in Plum. She didn't know who to get. I looked up this company on Angie's list and told her to call them. They explained everything to her before they started the work. I think she asked about her doorbell and they fixed that on the same visit.

After being canceled on by another top rated Angies list provider, (Renaissance Electric -who did previous work for us) we called Nicholas Electric. (will write subsequent review with details) John answered our call immediately, & scheduled a time to come out. He arrived early, confirmed what work needed done, set up a staging area on the foyer floor (with a protective drop cloth) to hold all his tools, and got right to work assessing the situation. John answered phone calls during his work (some may think that unprofessional) we don't necessarily agree. His calls were professional, work- related ones. And besides, if we were the callers, we would rather someone actually answer a call than play multiple rounds of phone tag & voice mail volleyball. He apologized though, & explained that he receives calls to the company directly to his phone, & was fair- deducting the time for the phone conversations (without us asking). John conducted himself professionally, was knowledgeable, was careful to explain what he was doing, & was personable. John gave us a clear picture of the amount of work our other projects will entail & rough estimates for each. We paid a little less than quoted by Renaissance, and they wanted to send out two people for the same job. We will call him again soon. Thanks John!

It was an excellent experience. All of the lights are working. He was punctual, very courteous, and clean in his work. He was very thorough to make sure everything was working properly and even changed a light bulb for me that I couldn't reach. I would highly their services.

The service was wonderful. They did a great job. He was very eager to help me with any problems I was having. I had no problems with his service at all. He was very helpful.

He was very professional and did all of the work we had hoped he could do in the time we had purchased as a deal through Angie's List. It was a great deal for us and we're very happy with his work as well as for the advice he gave us about the older wiring in our house, which we had asked him about. We would use his services again, especially if we could get another deal for his time.

They're very, very good. They were jus really, really professional. They showed up on time and they were clean and neat. They did a very good job. They honored the coupon and it was more than that. I think it was probably at least another $100 or $150. I expected that because he told us that when we spoke on the phone. I think their price was fair. I would use them again and I would recommend them.

The service was great, but the labor cost was very high. When they came out for the Big Deal, they went over the time by about 30-45 minutes. They charged $120 for roughly 30 minutes of labor. It was very expensive, $262.93 in total with parts. I didn’t have any problem the service, but would not go back to them under the current pricing.

Went well. Came a little earlier than was scheduled which was fine with me. John was very nice, friendly, professional, and knew his job. He explained the process and what needed to be done for the dryer outlet, also answered questions of other things I will have to get done in the future. I appreciate the explanations and that he cleaned up the area. I will use Nicholas Electric again. Thank You John !!

John provided a very competitive bid on this project, knowing that it would have to be completed over the holiday season. Even though we used another contractor who could get it done a couple of days sooner I was impressed by the professional and courteous way they did business. I would not hesitate to use them in the future

Arrived on time. Told me my pendant light blew because my wires are back wired. Installed a dimmer switch in the kitchen. Then checked out a dimmer in the dining room explained why I hear a buzzing noise. Checked out an outlet for me. Then he took out an old light socket box and replaced that with one I could turn on and off and also replaced the doorbell transformer that was incorrectly installed before. I was very pleased with the work and the time he took to answer my questions.

Scheduling and work was quite quick, they offered exactly what I expected, and the work seems well done. They came up with options that I had not thought of, which brought down cost a bit.
