R & J Landscaping LLC

R&J has great reviews online and I see signs frequently in my neighborhood so we contacted them to quote a landscaping job. It took about 5 days for them to reply to my inquiry, they were able to set an appointment during my requested time frame. The gentleman that came for the quote was friendly and on time. He walked the property and discussed our goals and what he thought our expectations should be. We also had another company quote the same job and we went with them instead- R&J had a more aggressive approach, they wanted to till our entire property, bring in new top soil, seed and treat the yard for pests. The competitor wanted to thatch and top soil in select problem areas and aerate and seed the entire lawn, a less destructive and less expensive approach. If we have future projects come up I would have R&J quote again

They responded to my phone call promptly. They set up a time to come out and were punctual and professional. They did a very reasonable job on my yard - I had a TON of leaves and my garden got edged well. They were very polite and, generally, did a very nice job. In my humble opinion, that's all I can ask!

Back half of my grandmother?s property was overgrown with what started out as a rogue rose bush. Then it spread and some trees, poison ivy and who knows what other bushes took over ? see picture. We nicknamed it ?BushMonster?. Called three landscapers for quotes to clear the property completely. Ryan at R&J was the only one to not only discuss clearing it, but also the need to bring in the equipment (roto tiller?) to go down past root level to keep it from coming back next year. He brought 3 guys with him and it took them a whole day. I wasn?t there, but from what I understand they took away minimum 5 truck loads and cut down at least 2 trees they found in the middle. They went down approx 4 inches into the dirt and pulled what looks like every root there was. I would be shocked if anything grows back next year. He also offered advice on how to seed, and knowing we were on a budget did not push us to hire them to do it for us. They didn?t leave anything behind for us to clean up. Not a branch, a leaf anything. Great service and worth every penny to do the job so completely and quickly.

The pruning & cleanup were fantastic. They are quick, neat and go above & beyond. The weekly lawn mowings are also fantastic. Their team shows up with all the necessary equipment and complete the job quickly. They have a very professional demeanor and again, go above & beyond. Not only do they cut the lawn, they also edge the flower beds, driveway and sidewalk and they use the leaf blower to clear off the deck. It's always a pleasure to come home after they have been there! We definitely recommend them!

Well, I am so glad I wasn't able to use this company. THEY DIDN"T EVEN RETURN MY CALL ! Guess they don't need the work.

I tried to reach them multiple times . After calling multiple times somebody reached me and mentioned me that they will give me an estimate but never came back

The work done is excellent. We needed a forsythia row approximately 100 yards in length trimmed. The forsythia was overgrown. Originally, the price quoted for the work seemed high. But, Ryan substantially exceeded my expectations. Instead of simply trimming the front and top of the row, Ryan also trimmed behind the forsythia (in what is essentially a thicket) to allow me to trim the bushes in the future from both sides. It was an excellent solution to a problem I had not been able to solve. Ryan delivered more than the value of what we paid. He also started and finished the job when he said he would and was very neat. Excellent job!

My interaction with them was fine. It was very good and they did a nice job. They did what they said they were going to do. I would recommend them and also commend them for their work.

They did great. They showed up when they said and they did everything on their list to do. Ryan was great and i have no problem calling them again. In the fall i plan on getting some more work done and i plan on calling R&J then.

At the beginning of the spring my Lawnmower broke down. Instead of investing in another I decided to hire a company to take care Of the lawn while I figured out what i was going to do. At the time my grass was about a foot hight and I really needed someone to get it in order for me. After searching Angie's list for about a minute I found R & J Landscaping (they had the most rating and the most positive responses) The owner followed up by phone immediately following my call and then stopped over about an hour later to give me job estimate. The next day my grass was cut. The bottom line is that R & J Landscaping has been more that fair and have completely exceeded what was promised. They are on time and professional. The job is done thoroughly and in a very timely manner. It seems to be a very well run small business focusing on the things that matter..... I purposely waited 2 months to deliver this review. I have already attempted to refer this company to all of my surrounding neighbors.

He was very professional; however the quote was for more than I was willing to pay, especially for weeding cleaning out existing beds. However, his charges for this service were similar to other quotes I received.

They were not always in good communcation. The project was very draggy, although I have a small yard

They did a wonderful job removing weeds and putting down mulch without negatively impacting the plantings. They trimmed up the edges of the mulched area and the overall appearance was very professional. Two people worked for over half a day and they exceeded my expectations.

They were alright. Their quote was really expensive. The guy that came out was nice, but it took me quite a while and a couple of phone calls to get him out. And then, after that he actually gave us a quote just longer than I expected and then the quote was about $1,000 more than some other companies. It was frustrating because I just wanted somebody to come out and give me a quote and I thought it would be reasonable and it just did not happen with this company. The guy was nice and everything, but he seemed maybe a little too busy for me. His punctuality was awful too. He said he was going to be there at 5:30, he did not show up until 7:30.

Didn't use as they were 60% more than other quotes

Ryan responded quickly to our request for an estimate. The estimate was the second one we had gotten and was very reasonable. The work was scheduled quickly and down very professionally. We were very pleased and hope to use R&J again.

Great. Showed up on time. Work done well. Cleaned up afterwards. Lawn looks great. No complaints.

I met with him over a week ago, promised to have estimate in two days. Eight days have passed no estimate! Still waiting!

Very thorough. Cleared gutters and roof, trimmed shrubs and removed all dead leaves on and around property. Used them two years in a row. Very dependable. Will use again next year.

The estimate was for about $4500. The gentleman wasn't very forthcoming with comments. I was asking his advice but he didn't give much. He was a quiet gentleman.

They are very thorough, very good, very professional, and very competitive. They are just really a good group of people, and I continue to use them.

He is responsive the fact that he is quick and he did a very good job. I have no complaints about it. The responsiveness is probably the best part of that. I reached out to a few and he is the first one to get back at me and he came out and gave me an estimate and reasonable.

I have been using Ryan's lawn services (mowing, aerating, and landscaping) for almost two years. Last week, I had a very large pine tree fall on my property and it damaged a section of the fencing. I called Ryan at 7:30 am in a sense of desperation after discovering 15 mins earlier the chaotic scene in my back yard. At 8:30 am, I received a return phone call from Ryan, and one hour later he was surveying the damage and working up an estimate. The very next day he was out with his crew at 9am to remove the tree. Today he performed the stump grinding ( he had to wait one week so the ground could dry up and he could get the machinery in) and replaced the section of fencing that was damaged. He did a great job and he was even able to save one of my rose bushes that had been partially damaged when the tree fell. I also noticed his crew had patched a small section of the fence in an undamaged area free of charge! After close to two years of doing business with Ryan and multiple projects along the way ( flower beds, mowing, seeding, tree service etc), I can say that I am 110% satisfied. His follow-up skills are superior, and he consistently follows through on all commitments. Also, his pricing is reasonable. As a professional in the sales industry for over 10 years, I am thoroughly impressed with his level of professionalism, can-do attitude, and results-oriented focus. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone and am so happy that I have found such a reliable contractor!

They are extremely easy to reach. Ryan always gets back to you. The only problem I have ever had is the weather not co-operating. After the rain subsided the crew came out and was able to clear the leaves and get the outside of the house ready for Thanksgiving. I gave them enough notice so that even though the original date had to be canceled because of rain, they made sure they were able to accommodate. I find R&J very easy to work with and very competitively priced. They do a great job.
