When I left a message, the owner was very prompt in responding and appeared at the appointed time to give me his estimate. The team arrived on the scheduled date and did our complete roof in one day. I was very impressed by the efficiency. They certainly knew what they were doing. They covered our expensive landscaping and protected it as promised.The debris was completely cleaned from our premises once the work was completed. The roof looks great. They met our expectations and we are very pleased with their work so far.

Was supposed to do a full inspection, do minor repairs, take pictures of any trouble areas, inspect my attic for anything that may not be visible from the roof etc. he showed up 45 min late, with no call, I had to call him. He went on the roof and banged in some nails, I had a broken shingle, he said he didn't have shingles on his truck so he wouldn't fix that. He never went in my attic, never took pictures, never discussed what problem areas I had if there were any. All in all I could have done what he did in less time, and not taken time off of work to be there for him, and save myself some money. What a joke.

I think he was a good guy he came in a timely fashion on the day he was supposed to. He explained to me that I have some moss on some of the shingles and I thought he could get the moss off, but he said the pitch is just too high for him to go up there. He was honest and up front about it costing extra and I decided to not go through with it. I would have given a rating of A if work had been performed but a B is Good and I am sure any work would have been exemplary.

One of the best contractors I have dealt with. Ivan was very informative and helpful when he came out for the estimate, and gave no pressure. His team of workers tore off my old roof and put on the new one in one day. I was quite impressed. They did a great job cleaning up. I had one small issue which Ivan sent someone out to correct the next day. I am extremely please with my new roof, and would not hesitate to recommend Gomez to my friends and neighbors.

Provider came out to look at the job and informed that the steepness of my roof would be not be included with the Big Deal. Requesting a refund from Angie's List.

I contacted Gomez to get an estimate for a new roof, approximately 4000 square feet, some new gutters, and skylight replacement. he came over the next day and inspected my roof. The cost was reasonable and there was no pressure. I signed a contract to get the roof installed, and it will be done within a few days. I'll update with a new review after the work is completed.

Purchased a $99 roof maintenance package here on Angie's List. Ivan was extremely professional, knowledgable, and honest. We have a slate roof, so did not expect the $99 package would include slate tile replacement. Our two goals were to have a roofing professional examine our slate roof and recommend what to do about repairs to damaged and/or missing shingles. And also to inspect and make sure we didn't have any leaks resulting in a massive tree branch falling on our roof. Ivan conducted a visual inspection via ladder and noted that actually walking on the roof (which is now 70 years old) even to replace missing slate shingles would likely cause further damage so repair of any kind wasn't worth it. He recommending waiting until the roof has deteriorated enough to start leaking 9 (which he said is unlikely to happen in the near future since slate roofs are so resilient) and then replace the whole thing. He was honest about the enormous cost of a genuine slate roof and educated us on several much cheaper options including simulated slate shingles. We were also interested in possibly getting the roof cleaned, and while he said he would be more than willing to perform such work, it would be a waste of money because it would just apply a temporary coating that would wash off after year and the roof would be right back in the same cosmetic shape. We also have a small addition on the house covered with standard asphalt shingles. He informed us that the asphalt roof was in excellent condition and obviously installed extremely well and would likely last another 20 years. Despite the chance to earn easy additional business and take our money (we would have happily hired him to clean the roof if he hadn't recommended against it), Ivan was honest and up front and talked us out of spending money that would have gone to waste. He didn't pressure us or try to sell us something we didn't need. We will definitely contact Ivan when we are ready to replace the roof in the future.

They went onto the roof, looked at it and caulked in a few places. They did a good job and were nice. I question the value of what I got for what I paid for but they did do what I agreed to.

The service went okay. One technician came out for the service and completed the job in about an hour and a half. I was disappointed the full 4 hours were not used. He replaced rotted wood around the garage. He was competent but not very friendly. The service was scheduled at 8:30 AM but he had to re schedule for 10 AM which was later than I had expected. I think I will use someone local the next time, however.

I purchased the $99 Angies list roof package. Roof needed a modest repair (repair leak caused by squirrels) and some much smaller repairs. In due time Mr. Gomez came to our house, inspected the roof but did no actual work. He pointed out what he considered to be deficiencies in the roof from the previous roof replacement (but those were not causing us any problems), and submitted an estimate for $1200 for repairing the leak, which we accepted. A few weeks later he returned, spent a little time on the roof. He then stopped working, and told my wife that we needed an entire new roof, submitted a proposal for $11,500. We got advice from two other contracting firms who both confirmed that only a modest repair was needed, the roof as a whole did not need to be replaced. One bid to repair the leak was considerably less than $1200. I am pretty sure that Mr. Gomez is honest (he promptly returned my deposit for his first proposal). But he is clearly quite aggressive in up-selling his services. From other reviews of his firm, it seems that his company does quality work. But prospective clients would be well advised to get several bids for any significant projects. Angies List promotions of this sort have clear hazards - they expose homeowners to attempts by contractors to up-sell their services. Moreover the Angies list package sets up a relationship with the contractor that increases the odds that the homeowner will sign on to additional work. No more of these deals for me.

I originally ordered the $99 roof maintenance package from Gomez General Contracting. When Ivan came out, he inspected the roof and told me that there was a lot more that needed to be done than we expected. I knew that I would soon need a new roof, but was hoping to patch it for a few more years. I live up high and the wind is fierce. I've had to replace many sections because they were blown off completely. Since he couldn't do all of the patching with the $99 package, he offered to refund the $99 and then gave me an estimate for the full roof replacement. There was no obligation to go through Gomez GC to do this work. I went out and got a couple of other estimates for a roof replacement from other roofing companies and Gomez GC was the best price by a significant amount. The roof on this house is a big job (3 car garage) and after research I think I got a good price. The crew came out on time and worked for two days to get the roof finished. The first day there was a little rain, which slowed the work up. On the second day, the crew worked late to get it completed. They cleaned up the area as best as they could. The roof looks great! The owner Ivan was in constant contact with me on the scheduling. I was not in a rush to have it replaced, so I didn't really care if they had to push the date due to weather, or another job running late.I do care that the crew came on the day they said they would be there, and they completed it quickly. They also replaced the attic fan, which was rattling so bad that you could hear it throughout the house. Ivan came out after the job as finished and made sure everything was satisfactory. he even loaned to me a magnet to pick up stray nails, as I had a concern that I would blow out a tire on the lawn tractor. I don't know yet how long the roof will last, what will happen if I have an issue, or how well the warranty will be honored, but the initial experience was great! I can only assume these will be just as good. I have another potential job for adding an over-hang to the front door. I would not hesitate to have Gomez General Contracting come out and do the job.

I called him to schedule and go over the project details. He said that he does not do these types of services, he asked if we already had the wood purchased, we replied no and we thought he would need to see the problems first. He made it seem like it was going to be more work than expected for the deal. We are just requesting a refund. We felt that the deal should have been more specific on the details.

Ivan, the owner, responded to my call quickly, he set up an appointment within a short time frame, and was on time for the appointment. Ivan inspected my roof as part of a big deal roof maintenance package I purchased. Ivan fixed any flashing and loose shingles and said that two two of the roofs (my home has three separate roofs) would probably last another couple of years. I was aware that two of the roofs were pretty old. The prior owner only installed a new roof on one area where there was a dormer addition.

I called to arrange the work, and they are unable to do the job that I purchased this deal for.

Everything went well. I wasn't home for the first visit but they did what needed to be done and called and kept me in informed of what they found. They showed up when they said they would and performed the maintenance as agreed. We will be contacting them in 2 years when we need a new roof.

Rain was the only delay in getting this job going. But, when I came home on Thursday July 10, there was a swarm of workers all over my roof. What would have been a two or three day job got done in one day. Ivan Gomez was the main contact and has been super helpful in guiding us and very professional. We are happy with the results.

I was happy with the service. They replaced shingles that had fallen out for me. They told me about some problems that I may need to address in the future.

I didn’t experience any problems with scheduling. There were additional costs because they had to purchase an extra bundle of shingle tiles as there was more work needed than what was included through the deal. Everything went well.

I purchased a coupon for gutter repair on Angie’s List and was contacted almost immediately by Ivan Gomez, owner. He made an appointment to come out that same week to see the work to be done. We have a few leaks in our stainless steel gutters (which are over 25 yrs old) and have a gutter helmet system over the gutters and attached to the roof. Due to this, the job was going to be a bit more complicated; however, Ivan was sure that he could solve the leaking problem. At the same time we were looking for gutter repair, we had been in the process of getting quotes for a new flat roof on our garage so I asked Ivan to take a look (and I had seen the glowing reviews for his company on Angie’s List) while he was there. I had already gotten a few estimates before Ivan came out. He suggested two options – modified bitumen and EPDM. The EPDM costs more but requires little if any maintenance and has a better guarantee. All of the roofers that quoted suggested these two roofing options but Ivan took the time to explain to me what exactly they are and what maintenance would be required for each. I always get at least three quotes when we are planning a home improvement – no matter how large or small the job. The most important factor we consider is how knowledgeable and comfortable we, as homeowners, feel with the contractor. We do not necessarily go with the lowest price! In this case though, Ivan put us completely at ease, explained what would be best and gave us a terrific price. Ivan kept in touch by both text and phone calls after we signed a contract to keep us in the loop about the installation date. Due to our rainy Spring, it was delayed a few weeks which was totally understandable. On the day of the installation, the crew was there early and worked until they were finished (11 hours!). They completely tore off the old roof, replaced rotted wood, and laid down the new EPDM roof. This is an extremely messy job (lots of dirt falling into the garage from the roof) and we were prepared to take time for a major clean up in there afterwards, but lo and behold, Ivan’s crew swept up and there is almost no evidence that they were there!! Needless to say, we are thrilled with the new roof, and our clean garage. Ivan has an amazing crew – professional and courteous. I have already recommended Ivan to co-workers and he is the only one I will consider to work on my daughter’s house. She needs siding and roofing on her townhome. Now that I have experienced first-hand the quality and professionalism of Gomez GC, I asked my daughter to stop looking for further quotes. Gomez is it! We decided to take another route with our gutters for the time being (and will definitely have Ivan come back if our attempt to fix them does not work), but we are so glad we found Gomez GC in the search for gutter repair because it led to the new garage roof which was next on our list. I recommend Gomez without hesitation. UPDATE: I wanted to give you an update on my experience with Gomez GC. Our new roof is done and Gomez did an amazing job. He is a terrific guy to boot! We are attempting to fix our gutters with something else for right now since Gomez would need to remove shingles and our gutter system to do their fix, and I would need to check the warranty on our gutter helmet first. I mention that below – since buying the coupon was what led to my experience with Ivan.
