Blue Bell Heating & Air Conditioning

If someone read my other reviews, they can see that I can be a harsh critic. The owner, Tal, is passionate about his work and has high integrity in terms of his word on what he will do and the price. I had Prices for the SAME job, ranging from Tal's price of $5500 to $13,000 . I got detailed estimates from 5 different companies. In fact, when the job was completed, one set of party wall vents were unnecessary - and he deducted $100 voluntarily. Also, he came back on his own to install a painted downspout to house the cable, so that it matched the color of my other downspouts. The people that work for Tal have a great deal of professionalism, are extremely neat when they leave the job, and completed in one fully day what other companies said would take 3-4 days. However, the proof is in the use- and it corrected a difficult situation in a cape cod house that is the nightmare of temperature control. I HIGHLY recommend this company!

First, I must state that I have had others out to figure out what was wrong with my central AC system. None of them except Blue Bell Heating & Air was able to diagnose it correctly. I called them on a Wednesday and expected to have a technician out within a few days at best, a week was more likley. The person I spoke to on the phone said that she could have someone out that afternoon. I stated that this was not an emergency (I was not willing to pay an additional charge, usually $100 extra, for an emergency visit) and I did not need the 24 hour emergency service call. She said that this would not be considered an emergency but a regular call and she could still have someone out that day...in the middle of July...the busiest season for AC service. The technician, arrived on time, used shoe covers before entering my house, and listened to my AC problems. He asked to see the AC componants and then did his thing. After about 15 minutes, he stated that he things the problem is simply the placement of the drip pan sensor under a pipe that sweats when it's hot and high humidity. He wanted to run some diagnostics first though and chek compression, refrigeriant, etc... After about another 30 min, he stated that everything looked good, he relocated the sensor and reset the system. I have not had a problem since. I was then told that this fix was not very involved and I would only be charged for the visit and diagnostic, $89.00, and not for any additional work. The technician answered all of my questions, gave some helpful advice, and exhibited the upmost professionalism as well as a sound knowlekde of the AC system. I am highly impressed with this company and will use them for all of my heating/AC needs in the future. I also recommend them to anyone needing these services in the area.

Joe ,Adam and Ed are a great crew. All three worked through the heat of the day. They are friendly and professional. When they finished they took away all old parts. Joe even asked for the vacuum so he could clean the rug in the hallway. Couple years ago they installed a complete gas heating system in my basement.One day in and out. IF IT'S HEATING OR COOLING THESE GUY THESE FELLOWS CAN BE TRUSTED.

They were wonderful. They were in and out and found one thing wrong but fixed it. Everything turned out fine.

Blue Bell was very responsive to my requests for quotes. It took me 8 months to do research and make my decision. I narrowed my choice down to an American Standard system and Blue Bell had the best overall package. Installers arrived on time as scheduled and were completely done by 3:30pm. Very neat and clean installation, the old unit and all debris were removed. I can't think of anything they could have done better. I highly recommend Blue Bell.

They are extremely punctual and understanding of scheduling needs for a family where both adults work. Their customer communication skills are way above average for contractor, and their professionalism is certainly appreciated. They keep every thing working, leave the mechanical area clean when they are finished and point out ways to improve our HVAC systems efficiency. Its been going great for years and we hope to continue our relationship with Blue Bell for years to come.

Tuned up AC. Replaced one part in need. Ease in scheduling tuneup, technician was on time, personable and knowledgeable. Our technician was a former ac/heat business owner. Very honest. We have used Blue Bell Heating and AC for the last 10 years. In our last home they did a new installation of furnace and ac. In our current home they have done a great job maintaining our heater and ac. We trust them and would not hesitate to recommend them fully.

The services were excellent. They were very efficient. They got things done in one day. They were probably the middle of the three estimates I got and I purposefully chose them because of their Angie's List reviews and the fact that they had previously taken out oil furnaces and oil tanks.

I woke up one night with the most horrible noise coming from my heat pump. It was frozen over with ice and I knew the units defroster was not working. I also knew ice could damage or potentially destroy the unit. I called Blue Bell Heating and Air the next day and was told how to switch over to emergency electric heat. Since I was able to assure them my home was warm and comfortable the visit was scheduled for the next day. The serviceman arrived at the scheduled time and after what appeared to be a thorough review of the inside and outside components of the system, explained his findings. He explained several problems clearly, showed me my capacitor and it's readings and also assured me not to panic, as I would have choices that I could make to resolve the problems. He promised I would receive a call the next day with cost estimates for repairs. He also suggested that I might want to think about a newer more efficient replacement unit, but that would be my choice. I received a call the next day with the choice being approximately $600 in repairs or $5,000 for a more efficient unit. As I was perplexed at this time It was suggested that I think about it over the weekend and even do some Internet research on my unit v.s. the newer recommend model and get back to them on Monday. There was never any pressure for a decision or which course of action to take. On Monday (a Holiday) I called with a list of questions and they suggested I might want to talk with the owner of the company who could help me. The owner called and patiently answered my questions and concerns to the point I was able to make a decision and feel good about it. I decided to replace my unit with a model one step up from the original suggestion. A contract was emailed to me outlining all the details including warrantees. I was very satisfied with the clear but thorough contract and warrantee. The unit was replaced inside and outside my home within three days of the contract. The owner also came to help as problems were found with my electrical panel. After many phone calls and a side trip to a supplier, they found a new part for my panel and fixed it. The problems they found and the difficulty with repairs and replacement were very thoroughly explained. I was able to watch everything and was given explanations and answers with patience. They worked extremely hard and I am extremely pleased with the service provided. The work areas of my home, inside and out, were thorouhly cleaned before they left. I've dealt with a lot of service providers over the years, and find this company to be among the very best. Friendly, curtious, proffessional and patient with those, like myself, who want to know and understand everything when making costly decisions. I highly recommend them.

Excellent they came when they said they would and did what needed to be done without any surprises

The first contact with the office was good. The owner was not in, so I was told I would receive a call by the end of the week to schedule a in home estimate. I received the call by the end of the week, just as I was promised. The technician arrived on the day and time I was told. He was professional and very knowledgeable with boilers, however he seemed a bit rushed and was merely there for about 5-7 minutes. He told me he would turn over his estimate to the owner for an official quote and that I should receive it in about 2 days. Once again they were right on schedule as I received the quote 2 days later. After analyzing the quote, I replied to the quote with a question about the estimate. I never heard from the company again. I never sen another email because I feel I shouldn't have to chase down companies who want my business. Even though the technician was nice, professional and knowledgeable, I wouldn't contact them for any future heating needs.

Even though I ended up purchasing my own equipment he was very cooperative about installing my system . The job took 2 appointment days to complete but The appointment was fairly prompt and the installation went well. They cleaned up after themselves and we would highly recommend them.

The initial contact with the owner and the office personnel was professional and prompt in all of their interactions. Various aspects of the job were discussed during the bid process. An acceptable price and installation date was agreed upon. The workers showed up on time on the scheduled date and took care not to cause excess dirt to be left in my home during the removal and installation. The work took one long work day and the equipment seemed to be working properly upon completion. A closer inspection of the completed work showed numerous quality issues that may not have been noticed by someone without technical knowledge of the equipment, but would have greatly effected the efficiency of the system. Blue Bell Heating and AC was called for a return visit to review badly leaking duct work where the new heating unit was installed. A person arrived promptly and reviewed the installation. They found that the internal switch settings on the heater were incorrect and verified the leaking duct work. They corrected the switch settings and used tape to seal the leaks around the heater. It was also noted that the installers had cut square holes in the sill plate of the foundation to run the inlet and exhaust pipes, instead of using a hole saw of the correct size. The resulting gap was left open, through which bugs or small animals could have entered the house. I filled the gaps with expanding foam and other materials to insulate these areas. Approximately a year and a half after the installation, the sewer drain line in the basement became plugged, causing an overflow into the first floor of the house. The source of this plug was found to be a small copper drain line that was inserted into the top of the PVC drain line in the basement, through a small hole drilled into the top of the pipe. This drain line was installed by Blue Bell Heating and AC at the time of the installation, for the condensate drain on the heater/evaporator coil unit in the basement. Since the copper line was inserted the full depth of the sewer line, it slowly accumulated solid waste over the course of a year or more, until it finally plugged the line, causing the overflow and resulting water damage. Although the system operation seems to okay in most other respects, the various details of the installation were poorly executed.

The service was great. They are a very customer service oriented company. The workers were very professional, and cleaned up very well after themselves. They did great work and the communication was outstanding. I would recommend them.

They were prompt, they did a good job, and they came out quickly. They're knowledgeable and very professional as well.

They came out within two days of initial contact to give estimate. Provided written estimate by end of day. It was easy to read and understand the estimate. Recommended a slightly less efficient system in order to get maximum rebate. This made sence because it would take 10+ years to recoup the costs in lower electric bills. Came out in two weeks to complete the job. System works flawlessly and electric bills are way down for the very hot June-July period. Highly recommend Tal and his professional crew.

Blue Bell Heating and Air Conditioning has been our heating and air conditioning contractor for the last 13 years and we have never had any problems or issues with them. They were originally referred to us by a family member (most of our family uses them) and have stayed with them over the years. We now refer them to others.Back in April we had them come in for our annual A/C check up and it was determined that our old unit needed to be replaced. We chose them to do the job. They arrived early in the morning and completed the installation by mid afternoon. All of the technicians that work for Blue Bell have always been professional,well mannered,and respectful of the fact that they are in someones home.Both our heater and air conditioning unit have been purchased from and installed by Blue Bell. We have them come in twice a year in the spring and the fall (with several emergencies over the years) for inspections and we have never been disappointed. In summary they are our heating and air conditioning company and I would not think of using anyone else.

After analysis, technician determined there was a bug (literally!) in the contactor that prevented the unit from starting. Bug removed and unit operated normally. Although we were experiencing a heat wave when I called, service was provided that day. I was very pleased.

Did what he promised. Did not try to talk me into other services. Was courteous and professional

I felt they were honest and they gave me a second opinion. They suggested I go back to the first place and have them rectify their work also because it would save me in repair costs. I would use this company again in the future.

My AC was noticed not to be working over Memorial day weekend. I called a few places on Tuesday morning. Blue Bell heating and Air was able to get to me the quickest. They came a little early which was fine, noticed that my freon was completely empty. Filled the unit, stuck around to make sure that when turned on the unit cooled the house. All in all a good experience. Would have them do additional work on my unit if necessary.

The February 17, 2012 call was for service on the heater Blue Bell had sold us four years ago. The immediate cause of the trouble was diagnosed as a faulty part covered by warranty and replace for free. Te problem was improved by this replacement, but not cured. Blue Bell came back three more times to replace and adjust more parts, all covered by warranty or the original $89 service call. We were very pleased by their persistence and determination to fix the whole problem for the one charge.

I paid $128.00 for someone to light a thermastat. $89 for the service call plus $39 to light the match. It took as long for the serviceman to create the bill as to perform the work. the serviceman's professionalism and responsiveness were good but I was very unhappy about the cost. I felt that I was "nickled and dimed" for being charged the extra $39 to ligt a match.

Thought it would be difficult to choose a contractor for this project knowing that for the most part contractors sell comparable equipment but what I was really shopping for was a quality installation at a reasonable price. Even the best equipment can't live up to it's potential if not installed properly. I contacted three companies to come out to give me a price on the installation, Val at Blue Bell was the first to come out and although he did not do the install himself he seemed to be a hands on guys and not just a salesmen (I liked that) he sent me a quote within 48 hours. I rec'd the second quote about a day later but while waiting for the third quote to arrive my old leaking boiler went from bad to worse and I knew I needed to pick a contractor that day so they could order the equipment and get it installed asap. Blue Bell was the best of the the first two quotes I rec'd by far and I was just waiting on the third to make my decision. After a few phone calls with the third company I was able to get a verbal price but it was no better than the second and Blue Bell would be the next call I made to see how quickly they could get it done. My call to Tina got the ball moving at a rapid pace and they located the equipment within a few hours and told me it could be delivered on the the next business day and installed the following day. I gave them the go ahead and it looked like we would have heat and hot water within two days. Sure enough the Blue Bell work crew showed up as promised and worked their tails off to remove the old unit and get the new one up and running the same day. The heater is working great and we have more hot than we ever thought possible. Thanks to the entire crew at Blue Bell Heating and Air conditioning for helping us out of a jam and doing a great job.
