The gentleman was friendly and honest. The price was a bit more than I anticipated because my house is not large. I will, however, consider using this company. I hear good things about them.

They are wonderful. They are very fast, clean, careful, and they are always on time. Nothing was broken after the move.

Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom has extremely expensive furniture. They wrapped all the delicate fabric couches with plastic and covered all the wood pieces with moving pads. We had a full house - 2 bedroom sets, 2 living rooms sets and many more individual pieces. They needed to move it into my house - 3 levels - and not one mark or dent in any of the walls at either locations. They wrapped my railings with pads and covered my hardwood floors with cardboard. We looked over every piece of furniture and not one scratch. I had moved before and had a bad experience with scratches and dents and expected the same. I can't tell you enough how happy I was with theis experience. I even gave the real estate agent their cards so other people can experience the same. DEFINITELY would recommend them.

After researching movers on Angie’s list and several personal recommendations, I decided on Shivley’s to move my furniture in town (about 4 miles). We were planning on doing our boxes ourselves but wanted to get professionals for the furniture. Form the get go I was impressed with the professionalism and honesty. I was given an estimate of 8 hours but was told that it would probably not take that long. The price was in line with the other movers I checked out. The move was supposed to be on the 28th, but of course Irene changed that . Fortunately they had an opening the next day. To make it even better, they sent an extra man at no extra charge. All of the guys were hard working and extremely professional. The job took about 6 hours and there were no issues. I can’t recommend Shively’s highly enough.

I think I found them through Angie's List. The service was more expensive because it took longer. I liked that they were on time and they were quite careful in moving objects. I didn't like that it took so much longer to do the job. I was quoted an original estimate of $1364 for nine hours but it actually took something like 17 hours to do the job. I don't think I would use their services again because their quote was so way off from the final cost.

They were terrific. I had several situations in which additional work and schedule modifications were required. They were flexible, considerate and helpful. Frankly, I have not worked with a better firm since having lived in this area. I couldn't be more satisfied.

The three movers showed up exactly on time and got started right away. I originally hired them to move only what I couldn't carry by myself, but the guys were so efficient they were able to move a lot more than I planned on. They did a great job and were very careful with all of the furniture. When arriving at my house, they put down cardboard before moving anything in. They even helped my put felt pads on the bottom of my furniture, to avoid scratching the hardwood floors.

Excellent! Better than I expected. The crew arrived on time, made a quick assessment of our furniture and belongings, and got to work quickly. Most of the crew were very careful, especially the crew leader Mike. Took 5 hours to load our stuff, then about 6 hours to unload at the new house. I drove ahead of them and noticed their driver was very careful, went very slowly around turns & over bumpy streets. We had very little damage, just one nick in the woodwork and one chair had a very small tear. They were very, very careful with the big & expensive pieces -- we have some antique furniture and they were super careful with that. They asked appropriate questions and were more helpful than I expected, they moved some new furniture that I had delivered to the new house, no problem. They worked until 8:30 PM to get the move done in one day. The owners, Diane and her husband, were easy to deal with. I actually re-scheduled the move on short notice (pushed it back one day), and they were able to accomodate that request. I certainly recommend Shively's for local moves in the Lehigh Valley.

3 people showed up - ready and started immediately after reviewing the layout - very few breaks - finished loading before noon - moved all boxes to garage and furniture to place they belong

These folks are great!! Timely, very professional performance. The office stays in contact with the customer, the movers are very considerate and helpful to the customer. I am highly recomending them.

After hearing enough horror stories of bad moving experiences, we were cautious and braced for the worse. I couldn't have been more pleased with how everything went! The owner of the company was able to schedule the move with only a week and a half notice, quoted me a price over the phone and confirmed the service. Three movers (Mike, Steve and Tim) showed up promptly at 8 am, ready to work. They were polite, industrious and focused. We did not have everything packed up nor ready to move; they worked around our mess and were flexible with special requests. Nothing was damaged and it was definitely worth the money spent! I highly recommend Shively's!

I hired Shively's to move my household after reading reviews on Angie's List and the owner came to my home to give me an estimate. Not only was estimate spot on for price it was spot on for time. The day was super hot and the owners sent two additional men at no additional charge to me. I was a woman alone managing the move of the contents of a 3,000 square foot house, the men were respectful, helpful and responsive to my concerns. My only negative is that they could have been a bit more careful - there has been some minor damage to a couple of pieces of furniture. I would still hire this company again in a heartbeat!

Company was highly recommended to us. We were happy overall. Some of our boxes were treated a little more carelessly than we wanted, but mostly they were careful.

A crew of four men arrived at the scheduled time. They were very personable and courteous. They worked very h****** a very hot day. They charged by the hour, but I did not see them take too many breaks...maybe 15 minutes or so for lunch. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is moving.

I spoke with Shively's three times in one week to obtain a quote, ask additional questions, and schedule a local move. Diane was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and patient. Their prices are fair and they have a good Angie's List rating. I received some comparable and some slightly more competitive quotes from other movers in the Allentown and Philadelphia markets but none had an Angie's List rating better than a "C" (and most had an "F"). What sealed the deal for me was that Shively's is also a member of the Better Business Bureau. None of the other movers I was considering are members. I am posting this because I am very analytical in my decision making processes and I hope this information helps someone else make an informed decision when the need arises to hire a mover.

Moving is traumatic but these guys were great. They were efficient, courteous, funny and careful. Nothing was broken. The job was bigger than estimated (we have way too much stuff!) and it took longer than planned, but they were terrific. We had a bad experience a year ago moving to our rented house (a different company not in the area), and this was a joy compared to that move. Highly recommend them.
