Salesman was punctual, professional, and low-pressure. All of the window quotes we received from manufacturers took at least an hour, and this was no exception. Expect you'll have measurements taken, get shown a miniature version of the window, hear all about the technology of windows and how it's improved, and see a demo of how much of the heat generated from a heat lamp gets through various kinds of window construction. The salesman from Alco was open about what his company could and couldn't do, especially around the sliding door, which Alco didn't manufacture themselves, but could order from another company on our behalf. The price quoted was much more reasonable than any of the other manufacturers that gave us quotes. If we hadn't gotten a very compelling quote from a retailer that our neighbors recommended, we would have likely chosen Alco for our windows.

excellent experience with salesman; he worked up a great price for project; was able to work out a deal to save more money with company mgr. for final finishing of trim work with me picking up and paying for trim wood for inside framing; work crew did an excellent job cutting and installing trim; workers cleaned up every day after their work; work was done in estimated time of 2 days; I refinished trim after contractor installation. guarantee was very good and if any future repairs are needed on screens, co. will repair them free if I deliver or ship them to their shop in Philly

They did a good job. Everything went really well. They were friendly and efficient. They were good workers and we were happy with them.

We went with Alco for several reasons: one was cost when we decided that in this particular room we did not need the best money could buy. The second was the quality and design of the Alco window: easy to open, flip and wash, double locks, vent locks, thin yet strong frames, simplicity of the look. No one is distracted by these windows in and of themselves. We chose the off white color and it disappears quite nicely into the surrounding color scheme. Outside, it is hardly noticeable against the trim of the house. The Alco salesman, John, was a really great guy and he responded immediately to all our questions. The installation team was headed by a former Soviet air force officer, Commander Brodsky, who treated our project like he was building a space station. The job was perfect. On time, no complaints. We would definitely use Alco again; in fact, we tried recently with a specialized larger plate glass window we wanted to replace four smaller windows in a set. The custom peculiarities of the size were not in Alco's repertoire, otherwise we would have been happy to give them the business. Those Alco windows we installed were purchased in 2009 and we have no problems of any kind with them.

They managed to finish the job as they had promised and on time. They also did a clean and finished job. The job overall went on perfect. They did all their work very nice as they had worked on few of the windows. I would rate them high overall. I would definitely use them in the future if needed.

We got 3 quotes on the work to be done - a national company and two separate local ones. The ALCO Windows sales rep - John - came and, although he did a complete and thorough explanation of their product, he respected me (the potential customer) enough to keep it brief without any of the pressure or upselling so often common to these types of encounters. We contracted with him on the spot - mostly based on price, but the quality of the windows had to be there, too - and a few days later, an ALCO rep was at the house to measure for precise fit. The windows were manufactured (locally, which I like!) within the promised timeframe and an appointment was set for installation. The team - two guys, George and Paul - arrived a few minutes earlier than the appointed time, asked if I had any preference as to the sequence of the rooms to be done and then explained what they would be doing during the installation. They went right to work and worked continuously until the job was complete, which was actually in less time than I expected. They were polite and repectful of both me and the house. Part of the trim on one of the window frames had been damaged years ago and they repaired that as an included part of their excellent service - an unexpected plus! When they were done, I was shown how the windows operated and given some "do's and don'ts" to preserve their quality. They did an excellent job installing the windows and when they were gone, there wasn't a speck of debris anywhere - not a nail or scrap of any kind, not even an old paint chip, even though the windows being replaced were in poor condition! The difference in the curb appeal of the house is dramatic - the new windows look great and the rooms are so much warmer (and quieter). We have more windows to replace, but since we had some unsatisfactory work done a couple of years ago by a different company (who has since declared bankruptcy), we were skeptical about putting all our money out at once. The difference between ALCO Windows and "the other guys" was like night and day. This fall, we WILL have ALCO back at our place to do the rest of the work we need done. That should be recommendation enough - I won't just recommend them to someone else, I'll use them again myself!

After reviewing the company's ratings on Angie's List, I contacted them for an estimate for replacement windows. I was contacted the following day on Monday and an appt was scheduled for Fri morning. That appointment was subsequently cancelled as a result of minimal snowfall and rescheduled for Sunday. I was contacted an hour before and the represenative said it wasn't the best day and proceeded to provide me an estimate on the phone. He gave me a 'sale price' that was only good on the phone for about 1-2 days so I could think about it - however, one important factor here is that if I accepted their sale price I would have ordered windows without ever seeing the product since Alco makes their own windows. For a company with an A rating on Angie's List, I was very disappointed to receive this level of customer service. They lacked a proactive approach to really be a customer friendly compnay in my experience. Based on this alone - I won't be using this company for my work.

The 2 men who replaced our windows were very professional and courteous, and did a great job. They were very careful of our furniture and covered everything prior to taking out the old windows. They cleaned up everything before they left. They did a beautiful job of installing the windows . They arrived at our house between 8:00 and 8:30 am and stayed until 7:00 pm the first day and arrived the same time the 2nd day and had the installation completed by about 2:00 pm. I have already recommended them to friends.

The sales person came in and was diligent after. He was competitively priced and knowledgeable of the product. The job lasted one 12 hour day and all 14 windows were installed. The workers came 15 minutes before scheduled which was great because I had to go to work early in the morning. They were here when I got back and said they could get everything done that day. They went through after the installation to tell me about each window, the upkeep, etc. They cleaned up after themselves and were gone. The only opportunity was that the estimate install date was 2 weeks before the installation was completed. Some of this was due to the weather (rainy) but it would have been nice if I received more communication on this change. Overall, great job.

We received window quotes from Alco, a national company, and a hardware store chain. The quality of Alco's windows was equal to the national company (and better than the chain's suggested product), but far more affordable. The installation was scheduled for 2 days since we had a big order. During the first day we noticed that a few of the windows were picture windows instead of casement due to a miscommunication. Walter was very helpful correcting the issue and he had our missing casement windows ready for the next day. The windows and patio door look great, and we're glad that we went with a local company.

I was impressed by the sales person and the heat lamp used to show the energy efficiency the windows. I tend to be skeptical and had the sales person use the heatlamp/measuring apparatus on windows I had installed in my home as well as the window samples he brougth to gauge accuracy. My windows performed much poorer than the Alco windows. No other company had given me an example of objective information that could be compared as easily to my own windows. The Alco windows also were also NFRC rated. The installation took one day. My husband was home for it rather than myself, but it went smoothly. My husband said it was clear the crew knew what they were doing. We've had the windows in for about 5 months now and they are a great improvement. The prior owner had had some windows replaced on the first floor before we moved in and I can tell the difference with these. Really a tremendous value for the price.

The installs went quickly and the workmen were very neat in making sure everything was back the way it had started. We noticed one of the windows was not draining properly during a particularly heavy rain storm. Someone came out the day after we called Alco and fixed it right away. I liked the fact that this was a local company. I also liked that we could choose a cream color vinyl, instead of just white. Other companies may have offered that, but this was the only one of the 4 that we had demos from that mentioned it during the demo.

I desire to add an update about our experience with Alco Windows. Windows were installed in April 2009 and I noticed a crack in one on Saturday 5/9//2009. I called Alco on 5/11/2009 to inform them of it and they stated they would be out on 5/13/2009 to correct the problem. They were at our home at the precise time to REPLACE the broken window. Cannot say enough about the customer service this company adheres to. Even happier now about our decision to use this company.

I interviewed 4 different contractors to replace my windows. One called me an idiot for not taking his deal, Walter was the last. He came in and I told him I already had a short fuse with salesmen because of the way they treat you. Not only was he very polite, he was very straightforward; here is the product and here is the price. One of the things I liked about Walter and Alco Windows was the first thing he showed me was the company's Better Business Bureau report. I knew it wasn't fabricated because I had just been to the site before our meeting. All my windows and doors were installed in two days, they cleaned up after themselves and I had another come back the next day to make sure all was OK. Since then,the bill from my power company went down almost 30%. This was a very pleasant experience. Would recommend to anyone.
