Overall my experience with Alco Windows was a positive experience. From the initial estimate, through the custom making of the windows, to installation was incident free. I have other windows to be replaced, and this is the company I will use.

the job from the estimate to the job clean up went extremely well. This company was on time, professional, and the price was right. this company will definitely be contacted again for another estimate if i replace anymore windows.

We got quotes from 6 or 7 places and decided to go with Alco because their prices were best and we liked that they're a local company. The salesman, Larry, was no-nonsense and didn't waste our time with sales pitches (like we had heard from a lot of other companies). On day 1 of installation we got a call that the door they received opened on the wrong side...left-to-right instead of right-to-left. We decided that we'd get used to it, so we had them install what they had rather than wait a few more weeks. The door looks great, and the opposite-opening door doesn't bother us. The installers were courteous and worked quickly. We were initially told there would be 2 crews of two and that the job would only take 2 days. Only 2 guys came, Nick & Vlad, but they worked their tails off and got the job done in 3 days. We had 2 additional requests...one window was a fraction off and the sashes stuck when we tried to lock it, and we asked them to cut the bulky square tabs from the screens...both requests were taken care of promptly. We're incredibly pleased with the finished product. The windows and door look great and the house is so much quieter and less drafty. We will consider using Alco again if/when we get a new entry door or decide to replace the basement windows.

I purchased the deal from Angies List - 5 windows for $1995. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy. The sales guy came out and didn't waste my time with a lot of sales pitch - I had already purchased some replacements from another company and was trying Alco because their pricing seemed much better. I decided to purchase a 6th window and, surprisingly, he extended the discount for that window as well. The next day I received a call to have someone come out and do the final measurements. He came out that day, took the measurements, marked the windows so the installers wouldn't make any mistakes and told me I would get a call when the windows were ready. He estimated 4 weeks. Before he left, he remarked on how unusual it was for all 6 windows to be the exact same measurement and almost square. The came in early, maybe 2 1/2 weeks, so I scheduled for the installers to come out early the next week. There were two installers and they came out on time and got right to work. ****This is very important**** They asked if I had other replacement windows so that they could match the outside design! I never thought of that and appreciated that they did, since it would have made the front of my house look unbalanced. A couple of very minor issues. As others have mentioned, they were a little rough with the window sills and surrounding wood. There were some gouges in the wood frame that I had to repair. Not a big deal. The windows are very, very tight making them difficult to latch. I'm sure they will loosen up a bit over time. The caulking was a little sloppy and they used a ton of it! My house is about 60 years old and I'm sure some of the wood wasn't in great shape. However, I expected they would find a better way to fill in the empty spots than filling it with caulk. The only surprise is that they never contacted me afterwards to see if I liked their work. I understand that when you buy from Angies List you are supposed to fill out a review, but I have 11 more windows to do and expected a call from their sales guy to discuss those windows as well. I gave them an A because the issues with installation were minor. They have been installed for about 6 weeks now and the product is definitely living up to the hype. They are very good, well insulated windows and keep the cold from invading the rooms.

Replaced one triple casement window and one glass patio door. The whole experience was very smooth. Called one day and spoke to Alex. He was very nice and informative. I then set up a time for one of the salesman to come over. John came over and explained the product and gave me a price. There prices are very good for a quality product. I did have other estimates to base it on. They did the job within a month. Great install and love the door and windows.

Very knowledgable about their products & were very clear with their delivery timeframe. The gentlemen that did the installation were very nice & did a great job of cleaning up after the installation. The door is beautiful & the windows are awesome. We immediately noticed a big difference in how much less the heat came on once this was completed. Would absolutely recommend using this company!!

Installer were professional when asked a question and very capable of giving immediate answers. Working area cleaned upon leaving.

I was only planning to get 3 rooms done, but the price and payment plan I was offered made it a deal I could not pass up. On the scheduled day, the workmen arrived promptly, did a great job and cleaned up. The windows look great and have really changed my drafty house. The monthly payment repayment of 18 months has no interest if I pay by the deadline. Overall it's been a great experience.

Everything went well from beginning to end. I selected this company based on their outstanding Angie's List reviews. Getting new windows is a costly home improvement and I wanted to make sure I was getting the best value for my money. The salesman was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and was not high pressure. The installers arrived when scheduled and did an outstanding job. They knew what they were doing and got the job done in the allotted time. I'm glad I selected ALCO Windows and will recommend them without reservation.

They were very professional and the work that was done was excellent. There was always a forman on site and he kept the flow of the work going at a steady pace. I would recommend this company to anyone that asked.

I am very happy may have my bay window replaces in the spring.

I recently purchased a house with 18 windows. Nine were replaced in 2006 by the previous owner with energy efficient double hung, dual pane Dove-brand vinyl windows. The other nine were old single pane wooden windows that provided nearly no protection from the outside elements. I researched all the window providers that serviced my area and got a few quotes. I knew ahead of time that I was looking to spend roughly $400 per window. I called Alco to book an estimate. A few days later, a sales rep showed up and gave us a rundown of their products (they are the manufacturer as well as the retailer) and gave us literature. He showed us the various types of glass, and demonstrated with a heat lamp how each reduces heat transference. He also tested these on both my old windows and my 2006 replacement windows, which was nice to have a comparison. After the demonstration, he said he would write up an estimate. I showed him the coupons from Angie's list, and he gave me back 3 numbers- the full price, the Angie's list coupon price, and the price if I buy that night. The last was the cheapest. While it's always tough making decisions without having time to consider it, I do understand the tactic. They try to lock you in now, before you shop estimates from every other company. Fortunately, I did my research ahead of time, and Alco's 'that night only' price was the cheapest for high quality windows (I was relying on other reviews to expect good quality). Plus, the price was close to my original goal of $400 per window. There was a mark up for disposal of lead paint windows. I don't know if my old windows had lead paint, but better safe than sorry I suppose. I signed the contract agreement that night, paid half the total upfront, and scheduled a date to have the windows measured. A few days later, guys from Alco came to measure my windows. They also measured my exterior doors, because I was considering having them replaced as well. One guy noted that my 2006 windows were poorly caulked, and that they could re-caulk them if I wanted to add that. I declined, because I wanted to see the difference after they put in the new windows. I then set a date to have them install the windows. On the date of the install, three guys showed up on time from Alco. They knocked out my old windows, and installed the new ones. When they were done, I inspected everything before they left. First, they matched perfectly with my Dove-brand windows (this was a concern of mine). They looked great, the install was clean, they opened and closed nicely, the security tabs were easy to use, the locks work well, the sashes were easy to remove to clean. On the outside, the caulking looked significantly better than my 2006 replacement windows. An added benefit: the windows are guaranteed. But how well do they work? It has been a few months since the install and 1 day since Hurricane Sandy, and these windows are great. I can finally manage the temperature of my entire house, because my rooms aren't affected by the outside temperature. Incredible noise dampening, and perfectly air sealed. These windows have made a drastic improvement on my house. I can't report on any power cost savings; I don't have air conditioning. I will be calling Alco again when I'm ready to replace my doors. Tl;dr: Fantastic windows for sound/noise/wind reduction. Great price, excellent service.

They installed 3 new windows. They were prompt and professional. They were very clean, too. I like the quality of the windows that they used.

I accepted the offer sometime in August for replacement of 10 windows. Due to my schedule, I did not make the initial contact with the company until September. We scheduled an appointment, the gentleman showed up on time, measured the windows and made some recommendations (we put sliders in a couple windows where there previously were regular windows). I was contacted within a month to schedule installation. A date was decided on and installation was completed as planned.

Our family house is about 25 years old and our original wood casement windows were worn and rotted and in some cases not functioning any longer. We did a lot of research and received several estimates. My situation also required finding someone who was willing to communicate via phone or email to work out the details of the project as I live in Florida but my parents house is in NJ. Many other companies did not have the patience. I worked with Alex Bachman who was professional and very patient with all of my questions. If I sent an email with questions, he always returned with a prompt and detailed answer. We had a big job as there were over 30 windows. We were amazed at how efficient the crew was, they finished the whole job in 2 days. We are very impressed with this company and we would highly recommend hiring them for your project!

They came out, measured the windows, and let us know before that he would be a few minutes late. They sent one guy out to do 5 windows in 2 1/2 hours. I was very impressed with their work. I was so happy with their work they are coming back out to replace 5 more windows. He mentioned there may be an extra fee for replacing wood around the windows, but they didn't have to.

The friendly salesman Larry came here and gave us a quote for the work that seemed reasonable. Later an Alco employee named Alex came and took the measurements. He was pleasant and professional and took the measurements. After some confusion about the date we had asked for the installation to be done, they came and installed the windows on the correct date and on time. We are quite satisfied with the job so far (its been 2 weeks since installation).

Alex came to our home and explained what his crew would do. Everything that he said happened. On the morning that they were scheduled to replace our windows, it was drizzling. I called the company at 6:30 am expecting to leave a voicemail message asking if the crew were still coming. Surprisingly enough, Alex answered the phone. I obviously woke him but he was pleasant and accommodating. He suggested that we wait until 8 am before a decision was made. In the meantime, he would check the hourly weather forecast. The crew arrived around 8 am. They removed a window at a time then replaced it rather than removing all the windows. This was more time consuming but it avoided any problems if it began to rain hard. Three men worked on the job then towards the end of the day, two more men arrived. The job was completed in a day. The windows look great and we're very satisfied.

Rain was forecast the scheduled day of installation. The office kept in touch and sent the crew out a day early, rather than postpone the installation. The crew did a great job, working late and coming out next morning to get the job done before the heavy rain. They were very competent, professional, and courteous. Energy savings remain to be seen with the first winter heating bill, but I'm optimistic. I rated the quality excellent because everything else was, but I've had the windows for just a few weeks and I have no way of knowing how they will perform long-term, however I believe they are an excellent value for the cost, and the outside noise reduction is noticeable. Update- once the weather turned cold, I noticed a cold air draft around the bathroom window- also the glass was much colder to the touch than the other windows. They tried hard to brush me off, and it took several phone calls and two visits for them to agree something was wrong with the window. After another two weeks they came with a replacement.

Alco Windows sent a salesman to describe the services they could provide. John was very nice, honest, and easy to talk to. Once we decided to purchase the new windows they were built and installed in a timely manner. They made one error which was rectified very quickly. I recommend using this company.

After seeing the initial offering on your website I called and the salesman came to my house on July 21, 2012. After seeing the windows and how they would save me money on my utility bills I was sold. He went through the whole house and explained how I could save money on windows upstairs in my bedrooms. Instead of three windows. two windows (sliding) would do the trick. Installation was 3 weeks later as noted above.
