The windows are very easy to operate, no more cold spots by the windows like before and my goodness the whole house is so much quieter. |Over all I'm pretty pleased and it was a great experience."

Description of Work: I'm glad I had the chance to use an Angie's list offer for this service, 5 new energy star rated windows ($4000 originally at half price, so $1999). The appointment with the contractor was very quick and easy although I didn't get to chose much about the windows, and I wasn't sure what quality of product I was buying, but 5 energy star rated window with grids (which I had to had to the final price as a customization at $50 per window). In a normal wait of 4 weeks later, the team came and the Windows were installed, very fast (1/2 a day for 5 windows) and I got to say I was impressed by the cleanliness and speed of the team. But when I've got to try the windows I was really disappointed by the product, the windows are hard to open and they don't line up right when closing. I always have to check the top of the window to make sure it's pushed up in order to lock them. I've had other windows installed in the past and I've never had that problem before. That's why I gave a C in the quality and an overall B on the service.

Description of Work: I got a call from Arco set up an appointment to give an estimate for windows. First they went to the wrong address (my old address). I explained that I had moved so we rescheduled another meeting. They asked me how many windows I needed replaced. I informed them I needed three windows replaced. They then informed me that they could not do an estimate/work unless it was at least $1500. I explained that the Angie's deal said I could get $500 worth of windows for $250. The representative said that the $500 would go toward the $1500 order so I would only have to pay $1000 or more depending on the order. I promptly cancelled my appointment. He then stated that his boss said the absolute minimum that he could do was $1000, so I would be responsible for $500. I informed him I didn't have that many windows that needed to be replaced and cancelled the appointment.

Description of Work: From the estimate to the installation, my family have been pleased. The windows that Alco produces are made to order. Their quality is superior and the installation and employees were very professional. They will be installing more windows for us next week.

Description of Work: I met with Rep from Alco regarding replacement windows for my home. Rep was very professional and did lower the quote (as I had received quotes from other companies). Rep did offer an additional savings if I signed contract for service that day (which I had no plans on doing). Rates and product was comparable with others. We did not use Alco as we received a quote from another provider that was significantly lower due to referrals. Approximate cost of service: ($8000.00).

Description of Work: I had called this company to purchase and install 7 windows and an entry door. They performed all the work as we agreed upon and the price seemed fair. The issue I have is that when my basement windows were being worked on by the installers, they had damaged the alarm wires where they come out of the wall. Alco Windows is claiming that I am responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting my alarm system. I did disconnect the system, but these wires are HARD WIRED INTO THE WALL and I have no way of "disconnecting" them. Alco is NOT taking responsibility for the damage and I had to pay my alarm company $200 to have it fixed. I will NEVER recommend Alco Windows to anyone!

Description of Work: It's not really Alco Windows' fault. I contacted them before I purchased the deal but they cannot come to do an estimate before. I have to buy the deal first and then if I'm not satisfied with the estimate later I can return it. I'm quite nervous about having their service even without an estimation. I also immediately have a local company who is willing to match the deal price. As I result I don't need to have them come. They did contact me once I bought the deal. Unfortunately I would rather work with a company that I've talked with. Thanks for your understanding.

Description of Work: I called to have windows replaced.The salesperson was on time and answered all my questions.Decided to go with them.Then they came to measure,again on time and very pleasant and professional.3 weeks later my windows were installed.The installers left my house with no clean up for me.I am really happy with their work and will use them again.I love that they guarantee their work.
