Description of Work: Sealed flashing around a double chimney to prevent leaks. So far, works well. John was very professional and courteous. Would definitely use him again if needed. He took a little while to get back to us, but appears to be very busy, which indicates the demand for his services.

Description of Work: Mr. Schofield and his assistant removed and repaired a broken flue liner and made our woodstove functional again. He also pointed out problems that our chimney had and recommended a mason to fix them. Soot Seekers was neat, clean, on time and very professional, and I would definitely use them again. The $3,800 cost (not counting the work that the independent mason did) seemed high, but I don't really have anything to compare it to, so gave them a "B" on price. Still, it seems like they did a quality job.

Description of Work: Chimney flue sealed by previous owners. It leaked. Was hard to tell how the water was getting in. Soot Seekers covered the top of the flue with a seal. He also put a sealer on all the brick.

Was friendly, polite, straightforward (admitted the work he could do, what he thought should/shouldn't be done), and gave us references to different companies he thought could be of the greatest help to us. He was attentive, found some problems with the flashing around the chimney, and did a great job cleaning up after his inspection. Although we did not have him do work because he said there was little he could do for us with what we wanted done, I would recommend his services to anyone for chimney work or advice.
Description of Work: Did a thorough examination of our chimney, inside and out, and gave us advice about cleaning, repointing, remodeling the face of the chimney, and the possibility of installing gas logs.

 + -1 moreWe had our chimney swept by the company that had done it the prior year and were unsatisfied with them for a variety of reasons this year. We needed to find a new company to complete work that was recommended, a new chimney liner. John Schofield and his office staff were prompt and courteous. The accurate estimate was approximately $4000 less than the other estimate. Our tenants were very pleased with the professionalism with which the work was completed. We will have Soot Seekers clean the chimney next year as well as complete some external chimney maintenance next summer. We were 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: John confirmed that we needed a new stainless chimney liner and completed the work.

 + 0 moreExcellent job! John was right on with the estimate the time it would take and absolutely did not leave a speck of chimney dust or mess anywhere in the house or outside. John is very consensus of the work and it shows.
Description of Work: John estimated and repaired a chimney in our new 160 year old farm home. He installed a new stainless steel liner with related components to both wood stove and other heating fixtures; he totally rebuild the chimney from the inside out, and also swept it out. The house is 160 years old and I am sure the chimney was not cleaned out before. Masonry use, metal work, heavy suction equipment and painting. CLEAN drop clothes laid everywhere needed in my living room. He washes his drop clothes. No dirt or stains from other jobs. A 3 day estimate job was done in 3 days.
