Response from Stirling Painting & Renovations
We take any bad experience associated with our company and make no excuses when we are in the wrong. However, I feel I need to clarify some factual errors with this report. If this reply comes across as defensive in any way that is truly not my intention. Firstly, the appointment (estimate) was set for the June 21st at 10 am. I arrived at that time and was told the person I had talked to on the phone was not there. The person who was home (who did not know I was coming) told me, generally, what they wanted done but not specifics. We e-mailed an estimate out to them on the 26th of June and mailed a hardcopy out on the 27th. Assuming the packet was received in the mail on the 28th that means it was received it in less then five full business days and less then a week in general (and not over two weeks as the report said). As far the statement that we were so much higher I can't say for sure of course. But I also can’t say for sure if the work scope I based the proposal on was an "apples to apples" comparison, as the individual who set the appointment was not home to walk around the property and discuss the project, the work scope and any important details (preparation expectations, materials to be used, precautions do to lead being present) In both our email and hardcopy proposal versions it clearly states for clients and prospective clients to call or email with any questions or concerns. Unfortunately, I did not hear anything and so was not able to clear up any misunderstandings. As always, we look at these occasions as opportunities to consider what we can improve to eliminate any chance of missed expectations or miscommunication.
