Description of Work: Provided an estimate - did not honor numerous promises to provide the service - had to go with another contractor to get the job done.

Description of Work: The date of service was 11/16/15 and the cost of service was $2,750.00.

Description of Work: Called Hicks for an estimate for driveway tear out and redo as well as covering a smaller cracked drive way in the back of the house. The estimate seemed fair...enough so that we signed a contract that day (early April 2015). Tom Hicks stated we were looking at a date after the first week of May (2015). Approximately 1.5 weeks later Tom called to say he had a cancellation for the next day. A day that we expecting, and received, down pouring rain. I declined explaining that our windows were scheduled to be installed in late April, which was planned around the May paving job, stating that I preferred to not have the window installers working on top of a new driveway with old aluminum window frames being tossed around. Weeks passed without word from Mr. Hicks. I left a # of messages. When I finally reached him he stated that he did attempt to do the job but I was the one who declined to have the work done. Even as I refreshed his memory of the unplanned call prior to our window installation he continued to blame me for his inability to follow through with the job. I ended the call. Approximately 4 weeks later he called to do the job. He repeatedly called me someone else's name even when I corrected him. I let him know that our contract expired. he attempted to tell me it had not. I expressed two things: 1)That I wasn't sure my husband would want to use his service |2) that if we did we could no longer pay him in cash. As he continued to call me "Doreen" (not my name) the price increased. We never called him back and did not use this company. I did use another company that acted in a professional manner and completed the job, efficiently, for less money.

Description of Work: They laid down two inches of asphalt on top of the old driveway vs. digging it up which would have been much more expensive. They had other jobs in the neighborhood that day so they were able to do our job immediately. It was done professionally and we are very pleased with the results - have received many compliments on the appearance.

Description of Work: They removed an old existing driveway, put down stone and paved with 21/2 in base and 2 in. of top coat.My main concern was the pitch of the driveway and they maintained that and the water runs off to my great satisfaction. I would recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

Description of Work: The Hicks Paving chap came out and took measurements for my estimate, suggesting the best way to add a pad to our existing driveway to accommodate a 30' travel trailer and the clearance needed to maneuver it into the space. I agreed to the price and his crew began the work within the week. I was quite impressed by the crew's skill at the work, and how they cleaned up the site at each stage. I asked the chap if he could change the drainage on our driveway, adding a swale to draw rainwater away from the house. He added that to my original job plan, and did a great job modifying this area of the driveway. I will hire them to come seal the driveway this spring/summer.

Description of Work: Graded & paved my 360' long driveway. Tom Hicks was very responsive in both providing a quotation for the project and performing the work. Started the job on the day he committed to and completed the work in one day. Crew was very professional and his equipment was state of the art & spotless. Would highly recommend them.
