He was really nice, and very honest. They came when they said they would.

Found them on Angie's list. Called at 7:30 am, came at 8:30am. Garage was operational by 9:30 am. They also serviced my other two doors.

Jesse was able to complete the repair while he was here. We didn't have to make another appointment. I now have a door which works perfectly and I can again use my remote opener and security key which I haven't been able to do in YEARS!!!

Mike and Jesse were both great. I called the office and they were out the same day and right when they estimated they would be here. Mike was able to explain not only what the problem was, but also why it had happened and how they could fix it to prevent the same problem again. They had the whole job done in about 90 minutes and replaced all the moving parts as far as I can tell. The best part is that now I have a super quiet garage door! I had no idea it could be that quiet. We did not even have to get a new automatic opener. I will certainly call Girard's when I want a brand new door!

Repairman (Jesse) arrived earlier than original estimated time, analyzed the situation, advised me of several options. I chose the more expensive one since it came with a five year warranty. The job took slightly over three hours. Jesse is friendly and very thorough in his work, and explained precisely what he was doing, patiently answering any questions that I had. It is worth noting that earlier in the day I had another company that came well-recommended on Angie's list come to look at the job- their repairman made a diligent attempt to fix the door but admitted that he was not familiar r with the brand (odd, Clopay doors are very common), and told me he couldn't do the job. He referred me to another provider whom I did not contact due to their low Angie's list ratings. I'm quite satisfied with Girard's work. Response time was fast (about 3 hours), repairman was good (see above). I can't comment on price since I have no comparable experience, but it was probably fair given the scope of the job.

I knew that I needed to update my garage door opener, and since I used their service before I called Girards. They came out to install a new opener - they also recommended new rollers and a way to get in the garage if the opener did not work. I was very happy with their service, in fact my garage door is very quite when you open and close.

Summary: Highly Recommend for Garage Service / Emergency Service. We are in the process of moving into a new house and my wife and I split our time between our homes to handle the preparation. On this particular occasion, my wife pulled into our new garage with the family minivan (the one with the kid seats) and heard a horrific noise. As it turns out, the spring broke and the door was simply not moveable. Note, this was a Saturday at around 3pm. She frantically called me to see if anyone would come out and help without charging an arm and a leg. I immediately logged into Angie's List looking for a garage door specialist that were actually answering calls. After going through 3 or 4 others, all of whom were either closed or asked to leave a message for emergency service, I called Girard's. The call was immediately answered by a person (not a phone tree) and they told me they could have someone at my place between 4-6pm. When it looked like they might be late on that time frame, they called and left a message to make sure I knew they did not forget about me. I then received another call when they were on their way to my house. When they arrived, I knew I was in capable hands. Besides the clean and well detailed truck, Vince, the technician, was extremely well put together. He had a uniform and was courteous and friendly. He asked me a series of questions before beginning the project and even picked up on some small adjustments that would help with the life of my garage doors. He explained the costs of his suggestions before he began any work. Because he was so professional, I decided to replace the other spring on the other door to prevent a similar situation from happening again. (My doors had very old springs that were not appropriate for the weight of my doors) After replacing the springs, replacing some hinges and servicing the tracks, my doors work wonderfully. He even helped me set up my minivan's HomeLink system for both openers! As I told him, it is RARE to run into service companies who are so responsive, friendly and provide REAL service. While I hope to not have issues with my garage doors in the future, Girard's will be my first call!

After first calling the company that installed our original doors ten years ago they failed to get back to us until today (too late) Fortunately yesterday morning I called Girard's and was told that they currently had a man working in our area and would be over in about 90 minutes. This young man was very professional and went to work on our doors. Since I had never had the doors serviced I had them check everything. Three days before I had backed the car out of the garage with the back door open. Having this problem taken care of right away really made my day. I checked Angie's list and they had already had 92 positive comments. I'm happy to make it 93. Outstanding customer service.

They were very good. This was in the winter but they were readily available. The guy came over the next day and checked everything. We were very happy with the service. That's one company that I would definitely recommend. The employees were very nice, very knowledgeable. They did everything. There were kids on the house so they were particularly concerned about that. They told us how it works, what the kids should and not be doing and other suggestions. It was really a good experience. I will give them an A for everything. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I called another provider, McBrother's Over Head Door. They repaired the door for $95, it took less than an hour. The repair included balancing, retensioning and adjusting the automatic opener. A cost difference of 50% even 100% could be explained. 400% is simply dishonest, taking advantage of the customer or fraud depending on how you look at it.

It works better than it has in a long time. Awesome job.

When I called Girard's, Tom helped me fix the issue by going over a couple of different things that might be wrong with my garage door over the phone. He helped me resolve the issue without having to come out or even charge me. It takes a very knowledgeable and experienced person to be able to diagnose an issue and be correct without ever seeing the garage door in person. I was very satisfied with Girards and would highly recommend using this company.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The experience was good and they did what I paid them for. I would use them again if I had a garage door problem. The guys that came out were very good and very knowledgeable. They were very professional. I was pleased with them. I didn't compare their price but from a value standpoint it was worth the price.
