Description of Work: Absolutely fantastic experience. Came out with a free estimate only a day or two after first contact. Thoroughly explained all options and pricing. We went with their recommendation of a "belt and suspenders" approach for the leak, which included a repair of the crack and the creation of a drainage system so that water cannot enter the basement. Work was scheduled unbelievably quickly and performed in a thorough and professional manner; both workers were conscientious about prepping our basement to avoid getting anything dirty or damaging anything. The repair looks amazing, and there has been absolutely no sign of leakage almost 3 months later even with several torrential downpours and savage winter storms. Price was a real bargain, a much better value than the competition. We couldn't be happier with this service, and we recommend them enthusiastically and unreservedly. A+ Waterproofing really deserves an A+ rating!

Michael and his team performed the job in a professional manner, and for a price that was less than what was estimated. A+ was interested in addressing my problem appropriately and cost-effectively instead of trying to up-sell me on more expensive solutions, which is something that many contractors in this field might do. They were unable to make the original appointment time but called to let me know, which I appreciated because it showed respect for my time. They delivered a quality work product and cleaned up the site before leaving. I'm confident my problem has been addressed for good. I recommend giving A+ a call if you are looking at having foundation repairs performed.

I have had a few people out to try to determine the source of a leak in my house. Most of them just scratched their heads and walked away without doing anything meaningful. Michael, on the other hand, listened to the list of things we have done to try to find the source of the leak. He came up with alternatives and actually stayed to execute them and see the results. When he felt he had replicated the leak in the floor, he went into the basement and into the 3 foot crawl space full of spider webs to further assess the problem...something none of the other companies I have tried have bothered to do. He believes the leak is related to the door, and door replacement isn't something he does. Even though I offered to pay him for his time, he refused, but I am to call him if replacing the door and frame doesn't fix the problem.

Dealing with Michael Boreman was a pleasure from the very first time I spoke to him. He returned my call promptly, and quickly came to see what needed to be done to our foundation. We had a crack that spanned two walls. Although we did not have water coming in through this crack, it needed to be addressed because we were selling our home. Michael discussed some options for treatment, but suggested we contact a structural engineer first, because the problem may not need expensive treatment. We followed his advice, and were happy to discover our crack was not structurally significant. The repair was going to be much cheaper than we thought. We were so pleased, that we decided to have him resurface our entire foundation on the interior, and partially on the exterior. He gave a new estimate, told me when he would be there to do the work, and off he went. Michael and his team arrived promptly when they said they would be there. For a team of young men, they were a delight. Polite, respectful, quiet, and happy are the words that come to mind when I think of them. They played their radio so softly that I wasn't aware that they even had one until I needed something from the basement. I caught them singing (not loudly!) while they work, and I never saw them without a smile. If I went to the basement they asked if they were disturbing me in any way (No, never!). They were considerate of my home and cleaned up as they went. They came up with some ideas to make the foundation look better than what they originally planned, and my husband and I were very pleased with the result. They were able to complete the work earlier than they thought, they cleaned up after themselves, helped move a couple large items back into place, and all the time they had smiles on their faces. I felt safe having them in my home, and would recommend them to anyone who needed work done on their foundation.

The men were excellent and very professional. Michael answered all of my questions and was extremely helpful in explaining exactly what they had to do to fix my water problem. Joe and Alex were also very considerate and their work was the best. They cleaned up after they were done and I was very pleased with their positive attitude and consideration shown to me. I did NOT have any water in the basement during the last rainstorm. YEAH!!!!! Thank you A+, you lived up to your name.

After experiencing water in our basement due to a failed sump pump during Hurricane Irene we had always felt the need to get a backup sump pump. In addition, occasionally during heavy periods of rain we would get some dripping of water through several cracks and/or the sewer line; therefore, it became time to address the backup pump as protection and also head off any other incidences with the cracks. In turn, we brought in four different companies (including A+) to see how to address the problem. Unfortunately, we also received four different ideas on how to fix it! One, install a whole new water management system on the interior of the basement, two fill the cracks with carbon fiber, three dig up the outside and waterproof the exterior where the cracks reside (as well as address one other crack from the inside), and four what I described above for what A+ completed. While each company made compelling cases to go with their approach, ultimately it came down to leveraging the most efficient yet cost effective and least intrusive method. However, this decision was supported because of the professionalism of Michael and the manner in which he conducted business: he came to our house on time and explained clearly what he would do to resolve the issue of the cracks as well as the backup pump (water jet vs. battery operated). Moreover, he walked the perimeter of the house with me (which led to the downspout modifications) to see if there were any other issues that needed to be addressed. After the analysis Michael provided an estimate of work and did not pressure me at all into a decision (I only mention this because some companies will try to push you into making a decision on the spot). About a week later I called Michael with several questions and after putting my mind at ease we made a date to have the work done. On the day of the job Michael was there actually performing the work with a partner and simply: they were pleasant, on time, explained what they were doing, cleaned up, Michael walked the perimeter of the house, looked at an exterior crack (since he was there), took the payment and that was that (basically the way you want it to be). In summary, there are a lot of basement waterproofing companies out there and each has their own approach. I had some bad experiences, but also some really good ones (with a company I chose not to go with) and you just need to do your research and make the best decision possible with the facts and information you have. The facts and information I had with A+ is that they had an A rating on Angie's List, their owner was straight with me and he acted in a professional manner. Only time will tell if the experience matches the results (i.e. we don't get water in the cracks and the sump pumps work as they should), but A+ gets an A+ in our book thus far!
Description of Work: Inject basement cracks with polyurethane - Repaired one large crack on basement wall coming down from window - Repaired two small cracks on basement wall coming down from window - Repaired area around sewer and water lines Sump Pump - Replace/install new sump pump - Install back up sump pump (water jet) - Extend exterior pipe farther away from house Downspout Extensions - Increased pitch on downspout extensions

Michael first came and was very professional and explained in detail what needed to be done in order to keep the water out of our basement. We scheduled an appointment with him and he and his workers were very punctual and professional. It did take two days to perform the job but after the first day, they cleaned up behind themselves although they were returning the next day to complete the job. The quality of the job is superb and we are so excited that we no longer have to worry about having a pool of water in the basement the next time there is heavy rain. He and his workers did a wonderful job in waterproofing our basement and also cleaning up behind themselves. Michael is a very pleasant person as well as his workers and he is on the job at all times. He just doesn't come and give a quote and other people do the job. It is very impressive that he is on the job site an is actually working. With this waterproofing which is guaranteed for life, there is a lifetime transferable warranty which is great! If we decide to sell our house, we can transfer this warranty to the new buyers. Great job, great people, great company!
Description of Work: Michael was called because we got water in our basement 3 times. He came to our home and explained the waterproofing process and what it consists of. We made an appointment and Michael and his workers came to our home and withing 2 days completed waterproofing our basement. They started on 4/29 and they were done by lunch time on 4/30 and they did an excellent job. I will be recommending this company to anyone I know that has water problems.

This was my first experience using Angie's list. Selected A + Waterproofing based on their A ratings. I could not have been more satisfied with the entire process and experience. My call was answered by Michael Boreman, the owner, on the first try. Made an appointment at 10:00 a.m. the next day for an evaluation and estimate. At 10:00 a,m. on the appointment day he phoned to advise he would be 10 minutes late. Upon arrival he assessed the situation immediately, Window wells were not waterproofed and needed drainage away from the foundation. A written description and estimate of the work was provided . Work was scheduled one week later. He arrived on time with his crew, with uniformed shirts, and the work was done effeciently , effectively, with quality, on time and in accordance with the estimate. The mark of an excellent company is " to say what you do and do what you say". A + Waterproofing is an excellent company.
Description of Work: Water would leak into the basement through the window wells during periods of heavy rain. Installed two new waterproof window wells and a new pipe draining water away from the foundation.

This was the second time we used A+ and both experiences were excellent. The first time we found two foundation cracks in an unfinished portion of our basement, the cracks were sealed up, the entire process took a couple of hours and Michael was super neat. We had several large storms since the cracks were sealed without incident. More recently and the subject of this review, we had a company tearing out paneling in the finished portion of the basement, the sole purpose was to uncover the source of an infrequent, but troublesome, leak. Once the paneling was off it was clear that we had a big crack in the foundation, thankfully, Michael was able to come within about a day and my other contractor was able to wait for the sealing to get done. We got a large storm the next morning and no water at all came in the basement. Once again, the guys were neat, thorough, prompt and easy to work with. I sincerely hope I don't uncover any more areas of concern but if I do, I would definitely call A+ again.

Description of Work: After UGI moved our neighborhood's meters from inside to outside, my basement began to take on water. Their subcontractor assured me that my basement had always leaked (it never had leaked before) so there was no help there. Based on A+ Waterproofing's strong ratings, I called. Michael, the owner, called me back within the half hour, came over that day to check out the problem. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He assessed the problem--a mote had developed where the dirt had been disturbed--and so lots of water was now coming in. He used a process involving injecting something to fill the mote, cleaned up his mess, and I waited for rain. Today it has rained nonstop since 7 am. The basement is bone dry--as it always had been before the movement of the meter. What a good experience! Michael never tried to sell me on doing more--he knew the problem and fixed it. Without Angie's List, I never would have found him.

Sent them a message via Angies List and they got back to me within a day, and then came out the next day to repair it. Very friendly, personable, and professional. They did a great job in explaining what they had to do and how they would do the work. The crack was in the storage room and they used a shopvac to keep the dust down as they worked. They cleaned up after themselves and left the job as they found it.

The material used to repair crack was a bit smelly, but suppose that's unavoidable. Great experience start to finish.
Description of Work: After a month or so of water seeping into basement every time it rained, I was worried we'd need $5,000 remediation with sump pump, etc. I checked Angie's list and called Michael Boreman at A+ Basement Waterproofing. Within minutes, Michael identified a crack in foundation, wrote estimate for $900 and said he could repair crack later in the week. Three days later, he returned and completed repair of the crack. I thank God I decided to forego additional estimates as Hurricane Sandy arrived four days later. As I write, we've withstood five hours of rain (so far) from Hurricane Sandy and basement is dry as a bone. Boreman was very professional, called back promptly, did work promptly and saved me money as well as a major headache. I highly recommend.

I have a cape cod home and the price was very competitive. Overall A+ informed us more so than other companies.
Description of Work: I did not select A+ Waterproofing to perform the services because of the entity type (only). The owner Michael was very knowledgable and look at the outside and inside of the property. I could tell that Michael actually performed the work instead of just being a salesperson like the other companies. Michael recommended the same french drain type system with 1 sump pump and pit. He also was going to install a water jet for an additional $650, which is a back up for the sump pump in case of a power outage and does not require electricity. No other company offered this and I inquired as to why and they mentioned that it would increase your water bill significantly (i.e., for every gallon pumped out by the water jet, about 4 gallons of water is required). I am not sure how true this is but at least he offered it. The only negative thing I can say about A+ is that Michael did not bring any of the materials that would be utilized like the other companies but he did leave 3 referrals that we could contact. Also, he did not respond to my wife initial call until about two weeks later. He said he was out of town so this was not a major concern to me.
