+ -1 moreNote this was an Angie's List Big Deal. After purchasing the deal from Angie's List, I called and scheduled the appointment. The company was pretty booked up, but we agreed on a date. He also, explained to me that I did not read the fine print and that he would need to bring additional breakers (as I did not have open slots on the panel), so the job ended up costing an extra $60. Installation was performed on-time, in a professional manner. Would definitely use this contractor again, if need warranted.

As of today, 12/17/2012, no response. Seems they are not interested. I am not the only person who has reported an incident like this recently.

Communication was excellent; the work was done promptly and professionally. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again and highly recommend him to others. I couldn't be more pleased.
Description of Work: I purchased the "Big Deal" for 3 recessed lights and a dimmer switch. I also requested additional service, i.e. installation of a chandelier in the foyer and a 4-gang outlet in my garage. The work was performed expertly and efficiently during the same visit.

+ -1 moreExterior lighting (underground wiring) tripped the breaker when switched on. LV Electric came on a Saturday to accomodate my schedule. The technician (owner) found a short and repaired the wiring. Work took less than 30 minutes and basically I was only charged for the service call as no wiring was replaced. (It shoud be noted that I had dug up the underground wiring before his arrival.)
Description of Work: When exterior lighting was switched on, the breaker tripped.

The gentleman scheduled to come to my house was running a little late and actually called to let me know. That was very thoughtful and I appreciated it. He was only about 15 minutes late and I didn't think anything of it. He was very professional, clean and well mannered. He installed the whole house surge protector in no time. I couldn't believe he was finished so quickly. It was refreshing to deal with such a courteous and knowledgeable person. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and I would certainly recommend them.

+ 0 moreI just had one unit with one question. I have city required hard wired smoke detectors There is one alarm( smoke and heat) that is super senstive. I wanted the electrician to take a look at it and see if he would find some way to make it less sensitive. (This alarm is in a hall, yet it would go off if you fried a burger on the stove.) Bob Holland said that he would look for one"cover" that might fit the unit with less sensitivity. That was great news. I did not think there was such a thing! I waited a few weeks and then called him. He said he was looking. I never heard from him again. Perhaps there is no such unit. Then call me and say, " I am sorry, but I cannot find anything to help you with this problem." Be Professional. r.

Description of Work: A new main panel box was installed to upgrade our current system. It was moved from one side of the basement to the other. A mast was installed outside the home to bring the main cable to a more acceptable height. It was torn from the house during a storm when a limb fell from a tree. Other miscellaneous services performed.

+ -1 moreBob Holland came out and did a thorough walk through then worked up an estimate and we later agreed on a date about 2 weeks from his first visit. He and his assistant showed up on time and worked efficiently, installing the (braced) outlets. As an afterthought, I asked for an electrical outlet in the attic as a point for future work. No problem - estimate went up a reasonable amount for the extra time involved. 2 months later, the fans I ordered finally came in and I installed them.... twice, since the remotes both had the same frequency, one remote turning on fans in two rooms at once. I had to uninstall one fan, reset the frequency on the other fan, then reinstall the first fan (which had the factory frequency on it). I had a small problem with one of the installs and called Bob for advice. He stopped by while he was in the area and took care of the problem at no charge.
Description of Work: I bought a coupon for $200 of electrical work for $99 and applied it to the cost of installing 2 ceiling fan outlets in 2nd floor rooms and an attic electrical outlet. I later installed two ceiling fans myself.

+ -1 moreIt went exceptionally well! When I called the office, the secretary took my name and number, infoming me that Mr. Holland would call me within a couple hours. And he did. We agreed on a date for him to come over to reveiw the work that had to be done and get an estimate. He was puncutal and professional, gettting straight to business. We were pleasantly surprised to find the estimate was lower than we had anticipated. Naturally, we took it! Mr Holland gave us the date and time which he could come over. He was punctual and worked diligently. We have the wiring completed behind our stove ( this had been done incorrectly by the builders of our house) and the lighting on the side of the house is great. This experience is exactly what you want when you hire someone-everything went smoothly with no hassles, no worries. We will definitely be using Lehigh Valley Electric Inc. in the future.

He patiently explained things that a layperson doesn't know, which I appreciated.

+ -1 moreDid not want to honor the Big Deal advertized and then over estimated so as not to do the job requested. Overall poor business practice.
Description of Work: First this person denied us the option to install the surg protection system he offered through Angie's List Big Deal for 129.00, telling us that the unit we had was good enough and he was not willing to replace it....even though we wanted a new one. Second we asked him to come and give us an estimate on putting in a ceiling light and a surg protection on the phone lines and a bathroom exhaust fan replacement. the estimate was over 1000. We did not find this company to be willing to do any work here. If a company is too busy to take on the customers that big deals produces they should just say so. This is the home of an older one and the treatment of this person who had a need filled that he was willing to pay for gives all electricians in business a bad name and makes Angie's List Big Deals not so big. The estimater was smart but what did it matter. Angie's List is more than happy to give our money back and were a great help. Thank you to a great company.
