JACK LEHR ELECTRIC INC. took less than a day. It was an excellent job. He saved me a lot of money as well.

We could not have been happier. The work was done in early December and although this is a difficult time to have any work done, the workmen were on time, courteous, very efficient and completed what we considered a big job in two days, just as they promised. We have been meaning to rate them for Angie's list since the job was completed, but . . . time got away from us. There was no high pressure and we had considered three other contractors. We feel we made the best choice and were very, very pleased with their work. Additionally, the work qualified for a tax credit and some rebates as well.

We had problem with a gas heater at my tenant's place. Called Ed, who seems to be very knowledgeable and asked me if the heater was Weil Mclain. I had to call back because my tenants were not home and I did not know the brand name of the heater. After knowing the heater is made by Weil Mclain, I called back and was transfered to a service coordinator. Then I was told that I would be charged for $74 for an estimate. I thought I mis-understood, so I asked the service coordinator to clarify. She explained that even if I liked their price quote and decided to go with their service I will still be charged $74 plus the quoted service fees for the repair. That's rip off. I thought this company has "Free Estimate". They should say that they charge for estimate under service information. If I knew, I would not even bother to call. Save their time and mine!

The Service Person who installed the Humidifier appeared to do a very thorough and neat job. He explained exactly what he did and what I needed to do to operate and maintain it. It is working fine to date. He also answered additional questions about my house's HVAC system. The Service Person who performed the Winter Check Up didn't say a word to me. When I questioned him, he said everything was okay. I would have given this company the highest rating if he explained to me exactly what he did and asked if I had any additional questions.

Excellent job. Comprehensive and accurate estimate. Very professional with work, attitudes, clean up, and paperwork. Excellent quality equipment.

The sevice was done quicklly and effeciently! After I explained the problem the tech checked the line from the air exchange unit to the condenation pump. He offered me the opportunity to save the $74 service fee, by purchasing their sevice plan - which would cost $199 and address the issue we were currently having, as well as clean and get the heat pump and air exchange unit ready for the reminder of the coolong season and ready for the heating season. They will come again in March and perform the same service, making sure everything is ready to go! The tech (Frank) very easily could have just fixed the issue with the condensate pumpj - charged me $124 and been in and out and on the way in about half time it took him to do the repair as well as do the seasonal check!

What impress me the most about Jack Lehr is how professional they are. I am not sure how they compare in pricing since I don't get electrical or HVAC things fixed every day. I have called and got Ralph Lehr and he gave me tips on how to even out temperatures in the house. Whoever came out to my house to perform work has always been very professional and gets the job right. They only thing is I don't think they have night shifts. So if your A/C or heating is down, you woud have to be wait for the next business day, if they have availability.

I know a number of folks that have had systems installed by Jack Lehr over the years. Usually they say that while Jack Lehr was not the least expensive option, they were very happy with the work, and their decision. I also checked Angie's List, and found all positive reports. I decided that even though I was pretty "set" on Jack Lehr, I wanted to talk to a couple of other companies for comparison. John Smith from Jack Lehr came to our home first, and could not have been nicer or more professional. He arrived on a nice day, but put cloth shoe covers on before venturing into our home. We discussed what we wanted, and although I told John the square footage of our home, he wanted to measure for himself (including window area). He did this with a laser device. He calculated it out, and informed me that DOWNSIZING 1/2 ton was the way to go. He did all of the work on his laptop and then printed it out on a portable printer in our home. He even gave great advice on an unrelated problem with a relative's home. When he left I had in hand a professional and informative proposal. I e-mailed several questions to John over the next couple of weeks and he was very prompt with his responses. I also e-mailed and spoke with Ed Lehr who is a professional engineer and very informative. He "guaranteed" their system sizing, answered all of my questions and gave terrific input on an exhaust fan/insulation issue (unrelated to my heat pump). I contacted two other large Trane dealers in our general area. The salesmen were nice, but just not in the same "league" as John Smith of Jack Lehr. One arrived on a rainy day and walked right in and tracked dirt into our home. Both of these other salesmen asked how our present system worked. When I said it worked well, they both felt that the same size system was appropriate, or if we were using a 1 ton increment system, they would "bump up" our 3 1/2 ton system to 4 tons. They were not interested in measuring our home or doing any calculation. Having done a lot of research, I realized that going "too small" OR "too large" could both present a problem. I've heard others say that Jack Lehr had downsized their systems with very good results. One salesman gave me a handwritten short proposal on the spot, and the other took over a week to get back to me. He even said that the XL 20i would not qualify for the federal tax credit. Over the phone one salesman quoted a lesser price than Jack Lehr, BUT when I got the proposals, Jack Lehr was the least expensive AND was the only one to include labor in their 10 year warranty. The installation looks great and the system works very well (even though it has only been in for a week and a half). The men were very professional, very neat, explained how to use the new system and answered all of my questions. They asked about MY preference for running new lines because of our finished basement.

We've been in this area for almost 40 years and we knew their reputation. They carried the brand we wanted and the service has been fine with them. My husband had done the research and we knew what the cost would be and they were within reason. We did have to use them in an emergency and that was also very good. They are great and we have no complaints.

Went very well. They completed all the work in less than one full day. They were very professional.

I received an estimate from the company and decided to go with them. The men came at the scheduled time, removed the old system and installed the new one. They were efficient and polite. They cleaned up after themselves and showed me how my new system worked. They stayed until they were sure the system worked and the temperatures were properly set.

They were professional, prompt and did the job that I asked them to do.

Just had my heating/air conditioning replaced for my 3 story townhouse, a major expense at over $7K. I couldn't find anyone who had had this type of work done, so I couldn't get any recommendations from friends and neighbors. I finally choose Jack Lehr to do the work because they were listed as a family-run company. I had been warned about other places because they sub-contract out the work, and you never know who you will actually get to do the work. I am very pleased over-all with the work. A knowledgeable person, Steve Grimm, came out to give me an estimate and explain the options available to me. They install Trane products, which are quality products that I had researched. I had thoroughly researched energy efficient gas heating and air conditioning units on-line and had printed out the information. Everything he told me agreed with my research, which made me confident in my choices of units and in using his company to do the work. He gave me a written estimate and called into the office to set me up with a date to have the work done. Two very nice young men, Keith and Mike, arrived promptly at 7:30 am on the appointed date, and it took them 8 hours to finish the job. They put down drop cloths on the floor (like a painter) and cleaned up with a vacuum cleaner they brought with them when they finished. This morning a Whitehall Township inspector came out to inspect the job, so I feel confident that all was done properly. This was a big, expensive job for me, and I am delighted that it was all handled so well by the Jack Lehr people, all of whom were polite, easy to work with, and knowledgeable in their part of the job, from my first phone call to the completion of the job.

We were very pleased with the service we received. Ed was very knowledgeable and explained what was needed, and why. The crew we had showed up on time, were very polite, cleaned up well, and got the work done more quickly than we expected. In addition, they did outside work during an ice storm, still completing the work ahead of schedule. While their price was a little bit higher than the lowest quote we received, we have no regrets about taking their bid.
