James can out right away that day for an estimate and the crew started the next day and knocked it out in 3 days. The mother always was polite when I had questions and James emailed me back very fast with responses. I would use them again in a heart beat. Highly recommended!!! Great job and cant wait to show my family and friends the new looking hard woods!!!

Excellent experience. The showroom (where you will meet the adorable Cookie) has a large selection of samples to view. I took several home and Jim, the owner, came a few days later to measure and give an estimate. (I had an estimate from another company but this one was significantly better). East Penn was able to install my floors within a few weeks. Three installers arrived to do the job. They had the old floors removed and cleaned up, and the new floors installed by 3PM. The installers were courteous, professional, and left everything cleaned up when they were finished. My floors look great! That evening, I noticed a pencil mark on one of the boards. I called the next morning to find out how to clean it, but they sent someone over right away who took care of it.

I called East Penn three times between 6/1 and 6/7. It got to the point where the woman who answered the phone would laugh and recite my address from memory. Each time, she assured me that whoever I needed to talk to was "out with the guys" and she would leave him a note to call me back. She was very nice, but no one ever called.

They were able to get out stains from the previous owners that several other companies said that mostly likely would not have been able to remove. Reasonable timeframe to schedule with. Easy to contact. The guys were very patient with me in selecting a stain color from the samples they had applied to the flooring. Very happy with the finished product.

I called East Penn Flooring on April 15, 2013 and spoke with the owner's mother. I explained my problem to her and she told me her son would get back to me the next day. I have never heard from anyone at East Penn Flooring. Besides Angie's List, East Penn had been recommended to me by another business on Angie's List. Not returning calls is very unprofessional and I would never recommend East Penn to anyone. Their customer service is terrible.

First I visited the showroom to select the type of wood and finish that I wanted. Cookie was very helpful in expalining the different options and arranged a time for Jim to come to my home to estimate the job. Jim was very prompt in providing an estimate and explaining the details of the job. He provided a detailed contract describing the work and also had his insurance verification sent to me by his agent. As planned on the first day the crew arrived on time. They immediately went to work like a well rehersed orchestra! All the crew members were very polite and respectful - true professionals. I have never seen such hard workers. They were very precise in what they did and took all measures to reduce the dust. They finished this large job in just five days. Jim kept in contact with me by email during the week and was thorough in answering all my questions along the way. The floors are absolutely spectacular which speaks of the true craftsmanship of the experienced East Penn Hardwood team. Thanks for such an amazing job!

From the first contact I had with Cookie on the telephone to the completion of the job, we were extremely satisfied. The floors turned out beautiful! Jim came to give us an estimate at the decided time and was very helpful. All questions were answered. Jim kept in contact with me regarding the refinishing process by email. The workers refinishing the floors arrived each day at the agreed upon time. They were very courteous. The workers worked very hard to minimize any dust. I only wish I had done this years ago. Truly a job well done. I will not hesitate to recommend East Penn Hardwood Flooring to anyone. You will be well pleased.

After searching in Angie's list, I called for info. It sounded good so I stopped in to see samples. I liked what I saw so I asked for an appointment for an estimate. They said they could come out next week. They took my name, address and phone and said they would call me to arrange an appointment next week. I never heard from them. I guess this is how some companies handle things when they are busy or not interested in your job, but it is certainly unprofessional. I waited several weeks then went with another company. A quick "we're not taking new work at this time" would have allowed us to finish the project several weeks sooner.

They took an extra day to finish as a piece of equipment broke and took a day to fix, but other than that very happy with end result and value. Would use again.

We recently moved into our dream home and East Penn installed new hardwood flooring into our dining room, master bedroom and closet. They also buffed and coated the existing hardwood flooring in the kitchen area. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they also worked quickly and had the floors finished in four days. The crew was friendly and hardworking. They were especially tolerant of my dog and new puppy. A+++

They did a fabulous job! We had them refinish our floors/stairs while we are on vacation. They emailed us to clarify any questions and responded in a timely manner. They even installed new baseboards in the closet that they had installed new floor in. Very professional to work with. Very happy with their work and will be using them in the future.

They were excellent. They were on time every day. It was a messy job but they made it very easy for us. They were very good about cleaning up. They were very polite and business like.

We emptied the upstairs completely so this work could be done in one week. The experience with this group of men was very professional and pleasant overall. They showed up on time, went right to work and completed the repairs, sanding and 3 coats of polyurethane in 4 days. Although there was dust to clean up after the job was completed, it was minimal. Downstairs rooms were taped off to prevent the spread of dust to other parts of the house. We are very happy with our new floors and want to thank East Penn Flooring for having a great group of hardworking guys available to do the work.

I called this company twice. The first time I left a message with the person answering the phones. When I didn't get a call back, I called again and left a message on an answering machine. I left my home & cell numbers both times. I never got a call back.

I found them through Angie's List. They were very professional. I thought that they did a very good job. I would use them again. The floors came out fine and I liked them very much. Their pricing was reasonable. It wasn't particularly cheap, but it wasn't outrageously expensive. One has to take quality into account. I dealt with the owner and he was very professional and very reasonable.

All employees we interacted with were very friendly, informative and professional. There was the added complexity with the job whereby they meshed the new hardwood floor into the existing foyer and kitchen floors. It was not possible for me to tell afterward that some flooring was new and some already existed. It meshed perfectly. I did not shop around, so I can't speak to how their price compares to other companies, but when they gave me their quote, I thought is was fair.

They did a great job. They were pretty professional. They did the job and it came out well. We will use their services again in the future.

The whole operation was handled very well. Six staff were present on the first day to get the job started, On the second and third days, 2 workers completed the Job handling the work as if it was their ``own home " . I am very satisfied with the job and the care exhibited.The only problem that I found was that the moldings right above the floors should have been taped, in order prevent them from being soiled and needing to be re-painted. I highly recommend this company.

I thought East Penn was excellent. They gave a very fair estimate and didn't deviate from it. We had them come in and work while we were on vacation since it is a pretty dusty job to refinish wood floors. They were very trustworthy and finished all work on time. I had painted all my walls before having them come in. I had my neighbor check on them for me while we were away and she reported that the workers took the initiative to find my extra paint from the newly painted walls that was in my basement and repaired all the walls that they scuffed up while doing the refiinishing work. I thought this was great and above normal service. I did find some dust in light fixtures but for the most part they cleaned up everything really well before leaving. I would highly recommend them for new installation, replacement, repairs, and refinishing.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Always answered my questions/e-mails. Always showed up on time/when they said they would. The workers were pleasant, worked efficiently and cleaned up well after themselves. The finish work was great! I think that was the best part. We now have a house full of beautiful wood floors!

They left the place in great shape and I’m very happy with the work. It was a good value. I would use them again in the future.

I called East Penn to set up a date for an estimate, of which they were flexible and very willing to do the work. Throughout the entire process all questions were answered promptly by Cookie, who was very nice and friendly to work with. The estimate was given on the spot, which was under the amount I had expected. He was thorough, honest, and confident. Once I decided to give them the go ahead on the work, they worked around my busy schedule of home renovations and were able to finish on time for other projects to continue. The actual work done was outstanding and my floors look fantastic. I would recomend East Penn Flooring over and over again. And if I need hardwood flooring work done in the future, I will be sure to go to them again. Great experience.

A group of 4 workers arrived on time Monday morning. They covered the kitchen cabinets and appliances with plastic and went to work sanding the floors. Afterwards they vacuumed the floors and walls. A coat of polyurethane was then applied. The next day two workers came and the floors were buffed out, more vacuuming and then another coat of poly. On Wednesday two more workers, more buffing, all the plastic was taken off the cabinets and the walls and floors were vacuumed. Last coat of poly was applied. The following Monday two workers buffed out the floors on the other side and 1 coat of poly was applied. The floors that were sanded look like they were just installed. Fantastic job! Couldn't have asked for more. All clean up was done. The other side of the house doesn't look as good because we didn't have them sanded down. Our fault not theirs. Next time I'd have them sanded down and go for the 3 coats of poly. All in all, goodt price and great work. I will use definitely them again.
