Description of Work: Tom and his crew landscaped our front yard. We had them built a wide paver walkway from drive way to the main entrance . The design also included a round patio paver kit and a semicircle sitting wall and a pillar with lamp post along with boulders. Tom also installed led low voltage accent lights, wall wash and walkway light. He planted perennials , couple of trees in the front yard and backyard and bushes and shrubs. We were very happy with the end result. His crew members were very professional, punctual and respectful. Cleaned up the work site every evening. We got our landscape done very early in the spring and some perennials which I wanted were not available, so as soon as they were available in May , he brought them to plant. |I would definitely recommend him and would use him in the future. He offered us good suggestions on plant selection and design which I am glad we listened. The price was very competitive and he went up and beyond the scope of his work and made sure we were happy with the end result. |

Description of Work: DiPhillipo's performed edging and Bedding around trees and flowers. like everyone else, we removed and replaced many trees after the last 2 Halloween storms. however, we never had time to finish the project. Tom and his team showed up punctually, had some great suggestions to improve our approach, worked continuously, and expanded our beds and installed edgeing to finish off several areas that had been postponed all summer. They did a thorough clean-up and the yard looked like new when they left.

Description of Work: trimmed back a "beast" of a forsythia hedge that grew to about 10 feet. We also paid to have all the debris taken away. Without asking, they also trimmed the sides of the hedge (which was a treat). The men were efficient and cleaned up all branches and limbs before leaving. Would definitely recommend and use their service again.

Description of Work: Removed existing overgrown bushes. Replaced them with various perennials. Our agreement dates were not honored. They came to do their work a week early when we were gone on vacation. Therefore I had no input as to what they did. I am not happy with some of what they did. They have apologized, but I am still stuck with what they did.

Description of Work: I purchased services as an Angie's List Big Deal ($89 for 4 Hours of Lawn or Landscape Work). The provider contacted me immediately and was very friendly and professional. We set up an appointment to meet. He was even very understanding when I contacted him to let him know I was running late coming home from work. We went over my landscape needs (mostly tree and shrub trimming). I have a decent sized front and back yard, with a good number of trees and shrubs. Because of the 4 hour time limit, I diagrammed my landscaping and indicated what my priorities were. If there was any time remaining, I asked that he attempt to tackle the rest. |The provider and I went over it all. I walked away feeling like (at a minimum) most of my priority items would be addressed. When the provider left, we shook hands and he said he'd be in contact with me to let me know when they would be out. Instead, I arrived home one evening and found that most of my front yard had been worked on, and none of the back yard had been touched. I think I was less disappointed with the work that did not get done, than with the fact that I was not communicated with. Overall, the big deal was worth it, but you do have to manage your expectations with regards to how much work can be accomplished within the time constraints.

+ 2 morewe had Diphillipos Landscaping come back to do more work on our back yard. we were going to take a 4- day vacation in august and instead decided to put the money to better use. My husband and I are so happy at the transformation to our yard after adding landscaping and hardscaping (Tommy D taught me a new word lol!) last month. that we're kicking ourselves for not doing it years ago. OMGoodness! We actually USE our backyard now. At this point I don't even want to get different estimates. Tom is a sincerely nice man and we feel he and his guys gave us more than our moneys worth. since the patio is now in use we get lots of compliments. 2 neighbors told me they both had work done by one company who gave them the cheapest estimate 2 yrs. ago. One put in a huge 'retaining wall' that he said is getting bigger openings between the blocks of stone and the company that did it is out of business!!! I told him that MY landscaper lol, has hardscapingcertifications and has been in business up here for 25 yrs. (But to be true, I didn't even think about that stuff when I was looking for a landscaper, so my advice is whoever you get make sure they've been around and have licenses and certifications to do your work. My other neighbor loved our yard. She took me to see hers and oh BOY! Now, her patio was maybe another half big as mine and about the same amount of landscaping and. well, ..... I'll be kind! Ours looks like it should be in a magazine. And she paid almost double!!!!!! I felt sorry for her, ANYWAY, sorry for the long thing here but figure I want to know these things when I'm spending a lot of money on a pretty permanent addition to my home. SO this job (finally lol) We decided last minute before a big family party that we want more landscaping and a few trees. he offered to MEET ME AT THE NURSERY and because his guys couldn't work one day during the week because of so much rain, they came out on saturday and sunday and transformed my yard. Again. I happily tipped each guy and again feel we got more than our moneys worth. I'm writing another review here because we did have a second job done but mostly because I know the black eye he got with the first reviewer will keep people away from diphillipos landscaping and that would be a mistake. I'm just glad I didn't check angies list before I called him.

+ 2 moreHe came out promptly after we called and had a drawing and estimate in about a week. We got 2 other estimates also. He told us he wasn't the cheapest or most expensive. He was right! He was the mid-price. We did a lot of research. Tom has great reviews on other sites, (he was surprised at the other review on here and offered to give us referrals) showed us pictures of his work, and basically spent a lot of time answering all our questions and explaining the job. we really felt we could trust him. We had to wait 3 weeks for the job to be completed. It's the busy season I know. He scheduled a date to start but called to say the job he was at added more work so we scheduled for the day after. Good thing I didn't complain because we did the same thing to him! His work was truly beautiful. Very nice man, very nice crew. Left our yard beautiful. Very pleased.

+ 0 moreI needed a simple sodding job done. The gentleman came out fairly quickly, was courteous and gave me a good price. However, when the date came for him to install the sod came up, he didn't show up or call. He called him the next day; he apologized, telling me that his wife had been ill, and that he would get to the job soon. No problem, I said. I didn't hear back, so I called a week or so later. We made another appointment for him to come back. This time, I checked in with him the day before to confirm the appointment; evidently, we were good to go. However, no one showed the next day as promised. I called back and left a few messages--I wasn't able to get him on the line again--but never heard from him again. So, to summarize: nice guy, nice price... failed to show for two appointments and never did the job.
