Diphillipo's Landscaping

Tommy DiPhillipo was very responsive and prompt from the first call when we asked for an estimate to the final inspection of the project. He tackled a compose pile that was over 20 years old and restored the yard, fabricated two sections of fence to match our old fence as well as installed a new split rail fence to replace our old split rail. He was on property when he said he would be here and finished when he said he would be. His crew was great, they worked hard and tackled the job and were friendly and professional to boot. But most importantly the end result is just great, its like we have a new yard again, we are very grateful for work that DiPhillipo's did, and would definitely recommend them and use them again

The final cost was exactly the same as the estimate. My initial call was returned immedicately. I did not need to be home for the estimate or the work. When I pulled into my driveway the next evening, everything had been completed to perfection including details that this company took the initiative to complete without my asking. I will use them again and will continue to recommend them to others

Went great. Had them come back to do another job after a few years and a move to smaller house. This is a lot of money for me, but the change to a new living space in my small backyard is enormous. Thanks to Tom Diphillipo and his workers for ON Time Start and Finish GOOd Communication SAVING ME MONEY by suggesting a different product (I was amazed) POLITE NEAT workmen. I'm RECOMMENDING.

I called him to get an idea of how much the job would cost. He agreed to come to the house while at was at work. He seemed very professional and was on time. He looked at what needed to be done and wrote up a very reasonable estimate so we agreed to go with him. We scheduled a date and time and when nobody showed up I called with no answer. Later that day he apologized for not answering saying he would call next week to reschedule, no call happened so I called him and again no answer. After 4 more days of not hearing back I emailed to cancel the job. As soon as I emailed I got an email back saying they could come the next day to perform the work. I was hesitant but did agree to that. He sent two guys out who were courteous and asked what needed to be done. They worked diligently clearing out the area that needed clearing. They left without checking to see if everything was done to my satisfaction which is fine, but everything was not done. Since they didn't finish everything I was hoping for I assumed maybe they were coming back the next day to finish. A few days later I get an invoice to be paid. The cost was quite a bit more than the original estimate, which I understand since sometimes jobs take longer than expected and I was made aware that I needed an additional dump. Being a little confused since some work was unfinished, yet I was being charged more, I emailed back asking if they were going to trim a tree that had been included in the original estimate. Rather than offering to send somebody back to finish he took off $35 when originally it was $60 more to get it done. I emailed back asking about the difference so he offered to just take the $60 off. Looking at all of the positive reviews I'm guessing I just caught him at a bad time but at the same time would be extremely hesitant to call this company again for any landscaping needs. His communication was lacking and he made me feel like he my job did not matter. Things started so well, I'm not sure what happened.

Met with Tom for a quote and took a liking to him right away. He was friendly, timely and responsive to all our questions and options. What I really liked about Tom immediately was how he praised his workers and their work ethic. Most contractors quickly self promote themselves, but Tom made it more about his workers. After meeting with Tom, we knew we wanted to give him the business if his quote was reasonable. He came back a couple days with a quote that was about 1/3 of the price our other quote. We signed the contract and scheduled the service. Tom and company came exactly when they said they would and did an absolutely outstanding job! In fact so good, that our next door neighbors also contracted with them (and other neighbors want to get quotes for their projects). Something that also stood out for me was that all the guys and Tom personally thanked me for giving them the business (which I think is pretty rare these days). We liked Tom and his crew so much that we decided to have him do our hardscaping project (which was originally slated to be next years project), and will be starting this week. I can't say enough good things about Tom and his guys! They will do an outstanding job and will work with whatever budget you have in mind. Jim

The $89 is just a "come on". His actual price was out of sight and unreasonable.

I was not home at the time the service was provided, but when I returned home from work, everything we had discussed had been completed. Hedges were trimmed and looked fantastic. Side of house was weeded along sidewalk cracks. Back garden was weeded with all clippings/weeds removed from the property. There were some clippings left along the side of the house, but not much. Job appeared to be completed efficiently and was exactly what was requested

We were not expecting anyone that morning, but was glad that someone had arrived to complete the work. The worker had arrived early and was gone by noon. He did not damage any other property even though he had to drive along the fence line, because he had to clean almost an acre of border. We have since hired this company to do other work, which we are pleased with.

Nice job but none of the seed took before the frost. Tom has promised to reseed in the spring

All items where completed in an efficient and professional manner. There was little inconvenience on our part. When a problem arose, after the work was completed, they returned and corrected the problem.

The work they did was excellent. Their professionalism, courtesy and kindness were top notch. Even though it was raining, they did not let that interfere in any way, but instead did an awesome, thorough job. I intend to have them return in the spring for more brush cutback. Based on their performance, I also would like them to do some landscaping. Mr. Diphillipio understands the concept of customer service and courtesy.

Tom and his crew did an excellent job. They actually got more work done than we had initially planned on. I would recommend his service to anyone without hesitation. All this at a very fair price.

It went great! Mr. Diphillipo called me within 48 hours of my purchasing the deal. He was courteous and arranged a convenient time for us to meet so he could survey the job. He was punctual, knowledgeable and helped me decide what would be the best course of action. I was really impressed by his experience with trees and shrubs and I liked his suggestions. Today when I arrived home from work I couldn't believe my eyes - what had been a total mess looked clean, sharp and beautiful! What a great job! I am thrilled with his work. Have already received compliments from my neighbors this evening when I was out walking my dog - really, I couldn't ask for more. He exceeded ALL my expectations. Will be hiring him this spring to help design and landscape this area.

I hate when contractors commit to do a job and then decide not to show up at all or even call to say they are not interested.

Mr. Diphillipo came to my home to see what I wanted done a couple of weeks before they did the work and told me exactly what they would do. He sent 2 of his workers who did an excellent job. I was very pleased.

Tom and his crew take great pride in their workmanship and professionalism. Everything they did reflects that. We would not hesitate to hire them again.

Tom and crew cleared a 100 (long) x 25 ft slope (30% grade) of mature trees and overgrown bushes and other growth. They built a decorative retainer wall behind our swimming pool. They ground down the tree stumps. They spread landscaping cloth over the area and brought in and spread 42 ton of river rock. They ran a 100 ft of subsurface drain pipe. Beautiful & great job. This was a heavy labor job. It was fairly priced & we more than received our money's worth.

Job was well done. Mr. DiPhillipo's employees were respectful and very professional. I have had other landscaping jobs done by DiPhillipo Landscaping over the past years and I have always been pleased with the work that has been done.

We had just moved into our home (and the area) and the mostly evergreen shrubs surrounding the house were ridiculously overgrown, way past saving or trimming. Almost everything had to be ripped out and/or trimmed way back, if possible. We had other estimates and proposals from several landscape contractors. They were either too grandiose and over the top, and therefore way too expensive, or the opposite, where we were doing all the planning, purchasing and design and the work was obviously out of their league. Nothing seemed reasonable. Tom D (the owner) was a breath of fresh air! He actually listened to what we wanted, yet also made great suggestions. He is very knowledgeable regarding plants, shrubs and trees, and went out of his way to get what we wanted from various suppliers if needed. When the work began, they were a joy to have around, including his crew. They were respectful, very nice, and professional. They cleaned up every day, showed up when they said they would, and did what they said they would do. They were proud of their work as well. Tom was working just as hard as the crew, and still checked with us along the way to make sure everything was what we expected and we were happy. Tom gave us a good warranty for both the plantings and sidewalk and we have every reason to believe he will stand behind his work and word. When we can have more landscaping and hardscaping done, we will certainly contact Tom again, no doubt. It was a very good experience and renewed our faith in our new area (and the people,) as we were having trouble starting over, finding reputable contractors and providers (even with recommendations from neighbors and realtors). We are glad we found Diphillipo's Landscaping.
