They were good. The materials they used were superior. It was just outstanding design work. The fence went together very well. I get compliments all the time.

Matica was wonderful! He really knows decks and fencing. I could see from his pictures that he provides just beautiful work. He provided us with a very detailed quote which we were very satisfied with. He spent a lot of time with us and his presentation as great. He was very upfront with the details of the job. Everything was made very clear for us. I wanted to use him, but my husband and I decided to not go through with the work because it's going to be an expensive job.

We have a lot of fencing. They did our fence and our neighbors asked who we recommended and I told them Creative Fences and Decks. They were very, very good. Their price was right in line with other companies. I'm a hard person to please. They were on time. If they said they were going to do something, they did it. They were extremely hard workers. They did pretty much exactly what they said they were going to do, and that's a big deal, for me. There was a little bow in the fencing. It wasn't quite a straight line, but they said they could get rid of it, and they did. It looks so much better. There was a little misunderstanding between me and one of the workers, but we smoothed it out right away. They don't leave anything to chance, which I appreciate. They were workers -- boy, they were workers -- and they did a beautiful job.

The conditions on the river are very severe so the deck and siding were very weathered. The guys did magic. They used the best materials and their work is outstanding. I am a very picky person and have had mixed (at best) experiences with most contractors. These guys are the best. They have attention to detail and do top quality work. They are punctual. I cannot be more pleased with their work. The price is very fair. Very hard to find contractors with such attention to detail and quality. Thanks Constantin & Co.

I will never hire this contractor!

Called 30 minutes after he was to arrive to tell us that he wouldn't be coming to give us an estimate. Taking time off work to meet a contractor who doesn't show up really stinks. Really need a better excuse than previous meeting running late and needing to go do payroll.

We found this provider a bit on the "stuffy" side. Did not give a lot of information unless asked. His quote was higher than others. We did not use this provider.

What a pleasure to work with these guys. They are meticulous in their work and definitely take pride in doing a good job. I have never seen a level used so often to make sure everything lined up and the crew always cleaned up after the days work. The deck they built exceeded our expectations and has added value to our home. A great experience and would highly recommend them.

The owner (Mitica) came out to our house. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to talk to and gave me an estimate on the spot. He made a couple of suggestions and showed me pictures of different material and layouts from his very large collection of previous projects. He was also very insightful as he helped us decide which materials to use, but he was never pushy. I was very impressed with his knowledge and ideas, as well as being a genuinely nice guy who obviously cares about the job and his clients. The crew, headed by John, were very skilled and professional. Every aspect planning, leveling, pouring of footings, framing and all details along the way were carefully thought out and were flawlessly executed. They were on time every day. They were very considerate of our back yard and kept it very clean during the project. The craftsmanship was superb. I am an engineer by trade and I was very impressed by the speed of their installation while still maintaining a high level of quality craftsmanship both in the framing and cosmetic features of the deck. They gave care and attention to every aspect of the job and were dedicated to make us happy with the deck. Mostly, they did what we wanted, but more importantly, on a few occasions, they told us why we should do certain things differently. They also accommodated two design changes on the fly. They were always happy to stop and answer any questions I had. The materials they used were top notch. We don't have a single bad board. The screws and other fasteners are all stainless, galvanized, or equivalent, and the construction techniques are all spot on. We ended up choosing IPE (aka. Ironwood) over Composite decking. IPE is very strong and weather resistant and requires almost no maintenance. It looks much better than composite. The footings were all replaced and re-poured. Overall, they did a great job on our deck. It feels very solid. The edges are clean and straight, much better looking and more structurally sound than it was before. AMAZING experience with this company from start to finish! I would not hesitate to recommend Creative Fences & Decks to anyone who may be in the market to build a deck on their property. Their price was a little higher than other estimates, however, I believe in the "you get what you pay for" philosophy. We received top notch quality, top notch service! My wife and I agree that they are the best contractors that we have ever had work at our house.

I requested to have an estimator out as soon as feasible, because I live in an HOA and they wanted to have my application for fencing by the end of the week. The person with whom I spoke over the phone was able to make an appointment in the same week for 10:00AM. 10:00AM came as I was organizing my pictures of various fencing styles to share with the estimator. He called at 10:00 to verify my address, which I confirmed, and then he informed me that he will be "a little late", 20 minutes. When I told him that was very late, he immediately became defensive by saying that's the result of squeezing me into his schedule. Now, I can understand making room for a new client, but I cannot tolerate the arrogance that I should accept tardiness because someone "squeezed" me into his schedule. If the he did not have enough time in his schedule, then it needs to be said upfront. My time is just as valuable to his and I would prefer to schedule another company which did have enough leeway to show up on time. He then left a message, which I got 15 minutes after the rude conversation. He said that I should re-schedule an appointment for another time, since it was obviously inconvenient for us both. That message was left AFTER I was expecting him to come late, not expecting him to have a NOW SHOW! For his arrogance and ego, he has lost not only my business, but also the businesses from the homeowners in my neighborhood association.

Our experience was wonderful and the project was done beyond our expectations. If you're looking for the best value and the highest quality, use "Creative Fences & Decks"! First off, Mitica explain all of our options as far as materials with the pros and cons of each. Based upon his experience and recommendation, we choose "ipe" and are extremely happy we did. He gave us a bid based upon removing old deck, replacing it with ipe, building a fence between a neighbor, and building new cedar side yard enclosure. The deck was approximately 32 X 20 ft, powder coated aluminum rail, cedar skirting, two sets of stairs, and a corner privacy screen with arbor. Mitica recommended a "picture frame" surface boarder around the deck, which looks wonderful. After reviewing the bid and check references, we knew the were the right choice. George was the person who did the actual work. I can't say enough about him as a person and the wonderful work he did on our project. Every morning, he would give us an idea on what would be done and at the evening he would show us the work completed. Every night the site was cleaned, tools stored, and George would tell us goodnight. Upon tear out of the old deck, we had neighbors comment how neat and organized the old deck material was stacked in our driveway. The material was promptly removed. His attention to detail was the greatest. As questions about the project came up, Mitica promptly addressed them and gave us both suggestions and good solutions. Midway thru the project, we wanted our brick walkway extended to the bottom of the stair landing. We were quoted a fair price and it was included and done beautifully. Both quality of material and workmanship were always the highest. Corners were never cut. George took the time to show us all of the extra detail they put into a project. Constatin would always have materials delivered in a timely manner, so there was never any down time. Now with the job done, we couldn't be happier. They continue to answer our emails concerning general questions and concerns about future maintenance. Mitica and his crew are not only great craftsman, but they are passionate for what they do. we would always recommend them without hesitation. Not the least expensive, but without a doubt, the "best"!!!

I found them through Angie's List. They used excellent materials. Their fences were beautiful. Their workers were great. They're probably the best ones in Portland. Their quote was very good. It was a competitive quote. They were on time. They did a super job. They cleaned up everything. Everything was good. They're an A+.

They were awesome. They responded back to me very quickly. They came from very far away, after having a meeting with them I found out that they were very professional, they also were very quick. They did for me a very beautiful deck. Overall, I am grading them an A. I will continue to use them in the future.

We hired Creative Fencing and Decks to install a large portion of fence and a driveway gate. I saw the company came well recommended on Angies List, and also spoke with someone who used them before. The owners Mitica and Constantin were awesome. They are very involved with their employees and make sure everything is done top notch. The building crew were excellent as well. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is the best I've seen, and the materials used are ten times better than anything you get at the big box store. When it's time to rebuild our deck I will definitely use them again. Thanks for such great work!

Mitica Leontescu was very courteous and arrived to measure my work area and provide me with a written estimate within 1 day of my call. I believe he would have provided a good product, but some of the detail that he puts into his work (wrapping the pressure treated posts in cedar, using boards with no knots, and building the lattice-work by hand, with additional stapling and gluing) drove the price up to make his bid the highest of the quotes I received. Even with the senior discount, I felt it was more than I could comfortably afford.

I received a prompt response to my request for an estimate and was pleased with the professionalism of the gentleman who came to my home to review options and pricing. Pricing was comparable to other estimates we received so we chose to use Creative based on such glowing reviews on Angie's List. When I contacted them to confirm we'd go ahead with the project, they said they could start the next week. I sent in a check for my deposit. The next week came & went and no one showed up, so I called to find out what was going on. I was informed then that the had gotten busier than expected and could start my job 10 days later - so over 2 weeks from their originally estimated start date. I was disappointed that no one had communicated with me regarding the delay until I had to call to find out where they were. Unfortunately, the 10 days later date came & went and still the project did not start. It was delayed another 4 days and again I only found out when I called to confirm the date. I do understand that unexpected delays occur but was very frustrated to not be proactively contacted when timing changed, as we were adjusting work schedules to meet crews at the house, etc. When the work was done, the quality was good and we are pleased with the result. However, the work was completed on a Thursday and there was still a large pile of garbage & debris on the curb in front of our house by the next Tuesday, although they had said they would have it cleared out "by the weekend" after they'd finished the job. We eventually disposed of the debris ourselves. I expressed my frustration with the poor communication about delays over the phone and in an email to the company and my concerns were never directly addressed by either representative we worked with. Quality of the final work was good, but based on the customer service and communication we would not call them for future projects.

These guys are awesome! Great to work with and fast! We have a brand new, beautiful fence. They only billed us for the contracted price they quoted us, were fast, friendly, and efficient and they picked up all of the old fence debris as they promised they would. It was such a pleasant experience. We are looking at having a deck installed in the back and we will definitely go with Creative Fences and Decks to do the job!

They were great. Mitika (owner of the company) came the day I asked for a bid. He parceled out the portions my neighbors would pay if they chose to share the expense. The drawings and numbers were very easy to share with my neighbors. He even added an option for one neighbor to have a portion of his fence (that took of from my property line) redone to match. The workers were great, personable and helpful, and creative in designing a special gate for me to honor my three children. They worked through awful March weather, and offered to stop work to spare what little grass was left in the mud. But they finished the job on time, and cleaned up and hauled off debris (twice to minimize the load in my driveway), and made my grass as good as can be until the rains stop! One neighbor's yard drops off about three feet from mine, and they had concerns about the look on their side. After all the work was done, Matika and Ovi came back on a Saturday, looked and talked it over with both families, and changed a few boards to make the look better for my neighbors. I felt that was above and beyond! They never asked for any additional money for time or mud or rain! I can not recommend Creative Fences and Decks highly enough! And my fence is simply beautiful - elegant and solid and a joy to look at.

My husband and I had been looking forward to replacing our deck for several years. We found Creative Fences and Decks on Angie's List. They had excellent ratings and now we know why! From our first meeting to the end of the project, we could not have asked for a smoother or more professional experience. Matica offered excellent design ideas, recommendations and suggestions. He made us feel very comfortable and confident with our selections and decisions. The project started on schedule and began with an introduction to two very competent and professional workers - John and John. We have never met more dedicated, hard working people. They know their craft very well and were committed to providing excellent results. These very hard working individuals arrived early each day and worked until dark every night. they did not wane even during sub-freezing temperatures. They were dedicated to completing the project as soon as possible no matter the weather conditions. The results were absolutely beyond our greatest expectations. We could not be happier. We would recommend this company to anyone!

Fantastic. They are not inexpensive, but they deliver quality work. I gave them an "A" on price because it is a fair price for the quality product & services that they deliver. The crew installing the deck were craftsmen who took pride in their work. Also, we have four young children and they were good about keeping the work place clean and safe for my family. This deck is a highly visible extension of our house and adds to the value of our home. If we were to do this all over again I cannot imagine using anyone else for our deck.

This is the second time we have hired Mitika and Constantine (Creative Fences and Decks) since we had been so pleased w. work they had done for us two years earlier (see review). Through no fault of their own the project started w. signficant disappointment: upon removal of original deck, an enormous amount of rot was discovered on siding. Constantine demonstrated how the original deck hadn't been installed competently (before we lived here) and, unfortunately, we could see that we could not go forward with the new deck until this was addressed. Once we were ready to go again, Creative Fences and Decks were available and performed on budget and on time. Each day they cleaned the workplace and ultimately left us with a trim, safe, beautiful new deck, bench and stairs. Total time: about 1 week. We wouldn't hesitate to hire this wonderful company again.
