It was totally painless. Professional, thorough, efficient, and much more economical than what others wanted to charge. I would definitely recommend them.

The work was done well and in a timely manner. We needed to ask them to leave a gap for a couple of weeks while our neighbors removed a large tree and stump next to the fence line, which they did. We are happy with the result.

We are thrilled with the results. They truly performed extraordinary work. The detail work as exhibited in the joinery, the stairs, the deck skirting and the spacing is a work of art. It was worth the wait to have this team of professional craftsmen construct our deck. We highly recommend them.

A Neighbor had used them for a fence, contacted them for a fence and porch railing project. They had a late start - but I understand, it 's peak season. Their work was very good, they stayed on budget and did a fantastic job. Recommend them.

Let me start off by saying that the date of this review is so long after the date when the majority of the deck work was done due to factors beyond Mitica's control (relating to other work we were doing on our home). We had several contractors consider the project, but I think only Mitica did not think it crazy! We enlisted an architect at his suggestion, and in turn an engineer. Getting approval from the city took a couple of months, as I'm sure it had them scratching their heads. Aesthetically we just didn't like the idea of posts, which also would have impeded the view from the bedroom windows on the level below. Once things were approved, Mitica's men finished the work expeditiously, and there were no delays except as imposed on a couple of days by particularly bad weather. There were a couple of problems that could have been better anticipated. One of these related to the support strap placement, but in my judgment that was an oversight on the part of the architect, and not Mitica. The other had to do with the unusual threshold design of the existing structure. Those points being made, Mitica proved himself an admirable problem solver, and mutually agreeable solutions were achieved. Overall we felt the project went very well. Mitica was flexible, fair, and openly addressed difficulties as they arose. Given the significant challenges involved, I think he carried it off masterfully. The deck is very sturdy, and the quality of the craftsmanship is superb. Despite it's size, it appears to float in the air. We would absolutely work with Mitica again (we'd need to buy a new home first though...), and highly recommend him to others. He took our vision and turned the dream into a reality.

This was the best experience we can remember...ever. On time, professional, meticulous, and extremely talented craftsmen. They communicated well, did everything they said they would and took the time to carefully inspect every board, every measurement, and every angle with precise accuracy yet finished exactly when they said they would. Most importantly to us, they worked extremely well with the adjoining neighbors. The neighbors were as impressed as we were and he is a carpenter ! Unreal results !

Mitica and his crew were very pleasant to work with. They are hard workers and are clearly very experienced with deck construction. Their quality of work was great. The deck is beautiful; the workers take great pride in creating a fabulous product. We love the deck and can't wait for the good weather to kick in so we can enjoy our new deck!

From start to finish this company has kept its' promises. Mitica is very punctual and professional. He is extremely organized and thorough. He introduced us to a material called Brazilian hardwood or IPE. We fell in love with it. The deck was made of IPE and the benches mahogany. His crew, Lawrence and Victor were some of the hardest workers I have ever seen. They were always on time and very efficient and professional. I didn't feel like I had to keep an eye on what they were doing. A+ Job. They also built a fence for us at a very reasonable price for the quality of materials received. It surpassed any and all expectations. The only thing left to do is to wait for Mother Nature to cooperate so they can seal the deck. Mitica is prompt and easy to work with. He is able to create a drawing plan on the spot and has computer photos of other similar jobs so that you can see what to expect in your new deck. We chose a hardwood deck upon Mitica's recommendation. We were particularly concerned with the stability of the new deck, since two other backyard structures had had stability problems. We can tell that the support system of this new deck is superior that that of our old deck. The job went well. There was a bit of miscommunication at the beginning about where to place the old, torn down deck parts, since we have a very small yard. However, that was worked out satisfactorily within a day. The crew worked steadily through cold and rain and completed the deck in approximately a week. We had to wait for warmer weather before the sanding and staining could be done, but it is worth it to have a beautiful, sturdy new deck.

I purchased this house in October of last year. I had used them for my previous residence. They just do outstanding work. They have the highest quality materials. Their prices are competitive. They come on time. I have had all of my neighbors come by and ask me who built the fence. The work was excellent. They have the best quality products for the price. They keep their commitments.

Until Tony at Royal Gutters put me in contact with Creative Decks, it seemed impossible to find anyone who could do this particular job. Mitica was prompt, responsive, capable, and completely professional. The metal 'roof' on the lower deck now drains properly and looks beautiful. I had one other bid from JT West Coast Gutter Service which was half as costly, but Angieslist reviews were so awful for them that I went with Creative. I am happy I did.

The job went exactly as it was quoted. The workers showed up on time every day and worked until the sun went down. The workmanship was superb. We are very happy.

Mitica, Constantin and his crew are great overall. Mitica gave me a quote on the spot (haven't seen another contractor do that). He stuck to it and gave me exactly what was to be expected. Completed in the time frame estimated. I had two workers come to the house every morning and stay throughout the entire day. They were very nice (great to my kids) and always asked questions on any variable they came across. Creative was able to take a risky idea and make it a reality for us. We think it looks great.

From the reviews on Angie's List it was clear that Creative Fences and Deck was one of the top companies in Portland for getting a deck built and they did not disappoint. Mitica came over to provide a quote quickly, was on time and provided good input into the design. As expected he encouraged us to go with EPI which looks much nicer then even the best composites available today. Creative's quote was in the middle of the 3 quotes we got but we felt they would have the best quality. One item I was skeptical about was Mitica's assertion that he could get EPI in all the same length long boards, online and from the other 2 contractors this is said to be impossible but when the EPI arrived it was all the same at about 12'. George was the primary person who built our deck, while he is probably not the fastest around his quality was great. He was friendly and professional, worked hard all day and did an great job. Everything is straight and level with clean miters and even spacing. We could not be happier with the quality. The deck turned out great and has been a wonderful addition to our house adding a lot of of summer living space and what has been dubbed the "Grillzebo" will be great for grilling on rainy days. We will certainly use Creative Fences and Decks again and would recommend them to anyone interested in a Hardwood Deck.

The two workers were excellent at customer service. They gave options and were agreeable to my choices. The fence is great looking, sturdy, and an excellent addition to my house and to the neighborhood. The wood has not knots in it! The quality of their work is worth paying the price.

In our experience, any time you need to find a contractor for services there is a great deal of trepidation in finding a people to do the work; cost, quality, follow through and ability to work with you are paramount to a good experience. None of us wants to spend money unecessarily, and we sure want the after the sale/job to be one that leaves a smile on your face. You often have to make compromises for the unexpected issues that arise and it is so important that good communication and information allow you to make the most informed decision. I can say that using Creative Fences and Decks has been a most rewarding experience and highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work. From the infomative estimate, to the workers who crafted such a fine deck for us, the clean up and the follow up on the phone to see if everything was to our standards was A+. Highly recommended. If you need this type of work, it is a family business with good people who know what they are doing.

Their price was high for the quality of work done. The quality of materials used was good, but the installation was poor. It was just wasn?t done as per the standard construction practices. I will not use them again in the future.

If you own a Mahogany Deck in Portland you know how difficult it is to find deck conditioning professionals with experience. We maintain our large 2 tier deck once a year. After 12 years we hired Constantin of ?Creative Fences and Decks? (503) 969-8850. His crew was courteous, professional, and protected the house, potted plants and gardens. Mahogany has that amazing quality to look brand new when reconditioned correctly. The crew exceeded all of our past experiences and finished exactly on the time line proposed. All this at a surprisingly lower price than we what have paid previous companies. We will be using them from now on.

We contacted three different fence companies to provide advice and quotes on our fence project. We were trying to add additional fence line to our home without detracting from the street appeal. Mitica of Creative Fences came first and set the bar for everyone else to measure against, but they couldn't. He had the best recommendations, fence designs, materials, professionalism, and prices. We hired them and iterated a few times on the design of the fence until settling an 8' fence along the back and a more open, decorative design along the side and front. A two person crew came out and were absolutely excellent in their professionalism, attention to detail, and craftsmanship. The crew lead was very meticulous and almost apologetic about his near perfect work. They arrived on time, stayed until they reached a good stopping point, and always explained to me if they encountered any issues. They did such a nice job that it really doesn't seem like a fence as much as it seems like a fine piece of crafted furniture. I waited to write the review until i stained it myself whereupon I was able to evaluate in more detail the excellent craftsmanship that they performed. We have had innumerable comments on the beauty of our fence and have highly recommended Creative Fences to anyone considering a fence and want lasting quality and beauty. Mitica Leontescu, the owner, listens well, is articulate, and has his company deliver what it promises, on time, with excellent results. They are worth their somewhat higher price because, if you hire Creative Fencing & Decks, you job will be done well, on time, by meticulous, pleasant, and intelligent workers. Mitica keeps an eye on the job and makes sure the customer is satisfied. We are pleased with our new deck, which turned out to be even more pleasing and better-looking than we had expected.

They were professional and did an amazing job building our trellis and privacy fence on our deck. They were very easy to work with, their work exceeded our expectations.I would highly recommend them! They do great work and all the guys were very nice and curteous.
