Description of Work: My Simpson pressure washer with a Honda motor would not start and I took it into Roy Boys to be serviced. They informed me that the engine was broken and would cost $350 plus to repaired. The unit was one year OUT of warranty. I told the Roy Boys employee, Barry, that I had only ran the unit for less than 20 hours and was very disappointed with the limited use I received from my purchase. They contacted Honda to plead my case and Honda agreed to repair the unit and cover the cost of parts and labor. Had Roy Boys not offered to contact Honda on my behalf I would have had to purchase a new pressure washer.

Description of Work: Unfortunately Roy Boy's is about the only game in town when it comes to small engine repair, at least in the south/West parts of the metro area. They take weeks to get a simple part fixed on a common Toro lawnmower's carburator and when I get it back it still leaked. (Another 3 week wait.) I had a second machine, a walk behind yard vacuum from Cub Cadet and it was nearly the same thing; hurry up and wait. I think it was longer than a month when they had promised less than 2 weeks. With both, I had to load the machines into my SUV by myself. You think that a place that does so much repair would be used to giving folks a hand or at least have a loading assist such as a dock, ramp or lift of some sort. I've used another Angie's List favorite, yardrents.com (the most firendly guys you could imagine) and can't wait until they start with their planned launch of mobile small engine repair. In short, Roy Boy's get over yourself. You are busy, but not due to quality. Just a lack of competition. (For now)

They carry very good products for businesses or for homes. They truly know what they are doing. They are professionals in their area. They took my old mower apart and explained what needed to be fixed and the cost.

 + -1 moreService was fine, prompt. They did an excellent job keeping the knives separated and the edges protected with a coating of liquid plastic until I could get them home. The garden tools were pretty worn but they cleaned them and they look good also. It took a week to get them back, but part of that was also the snowstorm delays. I do not know how the prices compare but it seems very reasonable for eight items.
Description of Work: Five high quality kitchen knives, various sizes, and three implements for garden trimming.
