Ace Car Reconditioning LLC

We had two cars done via a Big Deal. Making appt. was easy and we were able to drop the car off the night before. It would help to have the key drop marked a bit better as it took some time to locate. Both cars looked beautiful and smelt much better. (My husband had spilled coffee and milk at least three times over the past yr.) Overall it good experience with pleasant staff and excellent work. $99 seems like a fair price and we'd pay that again. The regular price of $129 seems a bit high but it's comparable or even low in regards to other places.

They were very friendly and responsive. I will use them again in the future.

Initially, it was a little tough to get an appointment date set. Fairly hard to get return calls. Eventually, they did the work on our first vehicle and it turned out pretty nice. When we got home, I noticed that the plate covering the radio had water or similar marks inside the window covering the radio control panel. It was impossible for me to clean this off. We also found that one of the mats in the back seat had a clip missing. We contacted the vendor who said they would remove the plate and clean it, but that they were very busy at the time and they would call us. They said they'd look for the clip. They never did contact us, but I still had one more vehicle paid for and I scheduled that. When I scheduled the 2nd vehicle I brought up the other issues and they said they'd try to schedule something with us when I brought my 2nd vehicle in. I brought the 2nd vehicle to them (a pick up truck) and they said it would be done by 3:00. I tried to discuss the other issues on the first vehicle, but the staff there told me they didn't schedule that stuff - call the owner. I came back at 5:00 that evening to pick up the truck that was eventually done at about 6:15. Took it home and found that the bug shield was broken in half and duct taped together on the back. I probably would have understood this as it was a few years old, but I was irritated that they didn't tell me and tried to camoflage it. Called again, they said they'd purchase a new bug shield. They asked if we'd like them to install it or just have it sent to us. Because of the long drive, we eventually said to just send it to us. It never came and I just bought a new one and installed it myself. Despite several calls to this outfit, we never got follow-up service promised. The detail work was OK (some details of the detailing were overlooked), but their service was some of the poorest I've experienced. I would definately not use this company again.

Overall a very easy experience, my car looked fantastic inside and out when I picked it up!

My six year old car looked like it was brand new. They were very helpful. Everything was done on time.

After researching multiple detail shops in the Portland metro area, looking as far as Vancouver, WA, and. based on the reviews I had read, looking at websites, and even talking to dealerships that use auto detail shops. I decided to use ACE. I was in possession of a 2007 Honda Civic that had been been smoked in for 2 years, had a burn hole in the headliner, and had some serious work to be done on the inside and outside. ACE literally transformed my vehicle from the state it was in to one that could easily be considered as nice or nicer than some of the other vehicles I have purchased certified pre-owned. The outside was well buffed and waxed so that the paint glistened in the sunlight like it was new. As for the interior, they completely removed the odor of smoke, fixed the hole in the headliner saving me at least $400. Every nook and cranny was cleaned of all dust, crumbs, stains, and sticky or greasy substance. The whole interior was shampooed, vacuumed, and polished. It looked like a new interior. All of this was done at the quoted price, which was well below what I had expected for an exterior, interior detail, odor removal, repaired headliner, and power washed wheels, tires, and engine. They even gave me $25 off just because I heard about them on Angie's List. They have won the award for outstanding service for auto detailing for the past four years, and it is well deserved. Eric, his cousin, and the other workers take pride in restoring cars and it shows. I would not consider taking any of my cars anywhere else even if I had to pay a little more. Fortunately I don't, their prices are quite reasonable and if you are an auto seller looking to get the most for your automobile or a mom who's SUV has been put through years of trips to football practice and runs through the drive through and has dirt and french fries stuck deep in the crevasses of the back seat you should treat yourself and your vehicle to a full detail from ACE.

We had two areas of concern, the front bumper (scratch + paint transfer) and rear/side (scratches, paint transfer). After walking around the van, I was given an estimate of $350. We decided to take the van there, but when we went in for the appointment we double-checked the scope of work b/c the written estimate was worded as front bumper only. I thought maybe this was a mistake, because the total labor hours were double that listed for the front bumper, and we had discussed both areas. In addition, the REAR bumper was the one with more damage; the front bumper was basically a small-ish scratch. I had another estimate for $480 for total repair, so while Ace's quote seemed like a good deal, it didn't seem so low that it could not cover both areas. When we double-checked, we were told no, the estimate was just for the front bumper (!) and we would have to double it for both areas. It really felt like a scam, b/c in fact we had looked over both areas and it seemed almost like they were counting on me not being exact on the scope of work to get more money. My husband unfortunately got a little heated in talking with them, as he was telling them they should make good on the quote they gave us to do the whole job, but they refused. Two other places had VERY low estimate to fix the front bumper, which was basically just a scratch low on the bumper. One place quoted $75 to just spray some paint on that scratch, while another (the most expensive) said they would just do that for free while fixing the back. The $75 place wiped off the paint transfer while I was there just to check on damage underneath to give the quote. So we were left with the impression that Ace tried to take advantage of a seemingly ditzy woman

They did a perfect job and I mean they truly did a "Detail" job on my car. They made it look like new. I have used them in the past and I will use them in the future. I hope they don't get too big and expensive in the future.

Great professional service from beginning to end. My car looked new again! I'm planning to take my other car to them at the end of the summer.

They had a discount through their advertisement so we got it for half price; the regular price was about $250. We purchased a gift car detailing from them for a member of our family.

Brought the 96 Accord in to get it detailed - my 3 kids had taken a serious toll on it (not to mention all the times I had spilled coffee in it). They buffed and waxed the exterior, fixed up some minor scratches, and cleaned the inside so well I seriously didn't even recognize it. It looked like it was a 4 year old car instead of a 15 year old car. Great price, they even gave me a ride to my house after I dropped it off. Will definitely use these guys again..

No problems. They spent more than a day on the detail.

The car looks great and the service was good. When I called them they said it would take about 6 to 6-1/2 hours so I made arrangements to take public transportation to work. I told them I needed the car back no later than 3 p.m., but when I called them at 2:30 p.m. I was told that it wouldn't be done until 4 or 4:30 p.m. so I said when I dropped it off this morning I said I needed it back no later than 3 and was told that was fine. I ended up getting over there and it was ready, so I think it was just a communication problem between their staff. Also I was told over the phone that I was going to have to pay an extra $35 because my car is an SUV, rather than a standard car, which I don't remember reading anywhere in the coupon I bought; but then they didn't charge me that at the end. They just gave me a receipt for the original amount and I walked away. I don't know if they forgot to ask me for it, or what? The third thing was that my front seat passenger seat has a piece of plastic sticking out of the track in the back of the chair, which I didn't notice because it was 5 days later that someone was in my car. So I went back there, but he didn't really seem to know how to fix it. I didn't want them messing with it, so now I probably have to take it to Lexus and pay to get that fixed.

I bought an Angie's List Big Deal certificate in November 2010. I've never had a car detailed in all my 25 years of owning cars. I would do it again, it's such a great experience to have a dirty car REALLY clean (more than my hand washing, Armour-all wiping and using commercial vacuums). Eric and his team were very professional and friendly.

Car looks so great, it is like brand new again. I was asked at a gas station the next day if the car was a 2010 or 2011 and they were surprised when I said it was a 2005. Great job. Very professional.

As soon as I called Ace they scheduled an appt. for the same week. The estimator took great pains to check out the car, interior and exterior, for dings,spots,etc. They told me when the car would be ready and that they would probably have to take a full 8 hours to complete the project. My car is a 10 year old,black,Toyota Celica.The staff was completely professional and helpful. The car was ready right on schedule. My car looks brand new! It lost almost every scratch and ding and shines like a new car. The inside was immaculate; they cleaned places I had forgotten about! Whatever minor issues that arose were addressed and solved to the best of their ability. When I left they gave me a sample of the pad they used to clean the windows as well as the name of another product they used and recommended. I am very pleased overall and would use this company again and would recommend them to a friend.

They did a good job. They were there when I got there. They were helpful. I would use their service in the future too.

Ace did an excellent job detailing my wifes car, my only gripe is that i had gotten some glue on the seat from when i was doing a repair to the door. They didnt even try to get it out, when we went to pick up the car we asked them about it and he said ohh wait let me see if i can get that out. They got most of it out. its just that they didn't even seem to try to get it out without me saying anything that annoyed me. other than that they did an excellent job cleaning the car.

When I dropped the car off they had a free loaner for me to use for the day. They called me when the car was taking longer than they thought (it was VERY dirty) so I could plan my afternoon. They did an excellent job on my car and I couldn't be happier. It was a great deal with the Angie's list coupon. Very friendly and professional.

It was a long haul out to the place from my home in NE Portland, but well worth it. My car is as clean as new. I have two big dogs, and there is no sign of dog hair anywhere! I'm really pleased with the service.

Every part of the experience was positive. A very friendly worker greeted me, offered me a ride, and explained what would be done to the car. I returned at the end of the day, and they were just finishing up with my car. It was past work hours, but I asked if he would check my tires for air pressure, which he did with a smile & great attitude. Very positive experience, and I 'm impressed with the quality of work as well.

The car looks brand new again! It is kept in the driveway (no garage) and had not been waxed in several years. There was green mildew along the window trim, which the drive-thru car washes don't seem to affect. The door jambs had built-up grime and the roof of the car needed a good scrubbing. All of that was gone as were the interior issues. Eric's cousin said the water stains on the ceiling panel near the sunroof came out easily. He first said all of the work was "magic" but then went on to explain their 3 part process of washing and degreasing, cleaning and polishing. Although I picked a rainy day to get the car detailed, it worked out okay as the raindrops once again beaded on the car during the drive home to Portland. Good experience although Ace is a lengthy distance from Portland and therefore not very convenient. (the car was ready at 5:10 but given the commute traffic, that worked out okay).

Called Ace and they needed me to bring in the vehicle to provide an estimate. I brought the vehicle in, the manager inspected it, asked me what service I wanted and gave me an estimate of $269. Seemed high to me compared to the amounts others on Angie's List said they were paying. I figured since they had such high marks it's worth spending extra. I agreed to the amount and set a date to bring the vehicle in. On the day I was to bring it in I arranged for my wife and kids to pick me up. I arrived at the business and went through the entire inspection again with a different employee. The kids are going crazy in the pickup vehicle. The employee took additional notes and wanted to charge extra for pre-agreed on touch up work. After some explaining he was OK with the information and I was able to leave. I was to pick up the vehicle the following night but someone forgot to vent the car to dry so they needed to hold on to it overnight for it to dry. I picked up the car the following morning. For the most part the vehicle looked good and almost new. Once I returned home further inspection found missed crayon marks. I left the vehicle parked in my driveway because I was trying to sell it and wanted it to look perfect. On the first showing about 5 days after detail the buyer noticed either missed or touch ups that came off revealing rust marks. I was disappointed the rust wasn't removed first prior to applying a touch up paint. Also, when I opened the hood to show the engine it was untouched. I guess interior/exterior doesn't include engine. Maybe a no brainer but it would have been good to have been informed that was a separate service. I'd say this shops service is above average but not exceptional. It would be good if they get their quotes and work in a computer program so customers don’t have to go through it twice. I think the technician working on my vehicle knows his stuff very well and a quality assurance check would help prevent missed details.

This was the third estimate retained for body work. First two were outrageous with each being over $10000.00 plus car rental at $35.00/day. Estimated time for repair was one week. I felt very fortunate having ACE do the repairs. Owner Eric Palacios and his staff are professional, friendly and fair. I took the car in on Tuesday and it was ready the next day. They provided me with a loaner car. Work performed was excellent. Highly recommend ACE for body work.
