The crew showed up on the scheduled date. They scrupulously honored special requests. More damaged sheeting replacement than anticipated, but pricing for items outside of the contract was very fair. Lay up of the new roof started one day later than planned, but Dean and Bill were very friendly and did excellent work. Minor question over the ridge cap to be used was promptly resolved to my satisfaction. All in all, dealing with River Roofing was a great experience and they are highly recommended.

Norm was right on time for our appointment,was very friendly and professional.River Roofing did my neighbors roof, and was very quick and did a great job.Their bid was in the middle, pricewise, of two other roofing companies,so they're very competitive. I'm also replacing my deck, and because they're very busy, our time line didn't match up. I recommend them for any roofing needs.

I had two different duplexes spring roof leaks at different times. After tenants called informing me of a roof leak; in one instance River Roofing came out the next day to make the repair and in another instance they came out two days after my call. I have had no further problems with the roofs.

I should have done a report for the list sooner, but now seeing that Angie's List is requesting evaluations of this company, I am submitting one. The work of putting on the new roof went fine. The old roof was removed in one day, and I believe, the new roof was completed in a day and a half. The mess from the work was cleaned up well. The new roof has been fine--no leaks or problems have surfaced in the 2 years that the roof has been on. The problem with this company has to do with their professionalism and the way in which they responded to a problem that we called to their attention after the job was completed. We were in the house when work on the roof was done. Our contractor was up talking with us when their tear-off crew was taking the heavy rolls of felt roofing up to the roof. He commented that things were being dropped pretty h****** the roof and that we might want to check for cracks and other problems on our ceiling when they were done. They also dropped the bundles of shingles--the house seemed to shudder as the felt and shingles were dropped on the roof. After the work was done, we checked our ceilings and found places where the nails had worked out of the dry wall and through the finish, and other places where you could easily see the bumps where the nails were pushing the finish out. When called about this problem, the response was that this was not unusual, and that it stated in their contract that they were not responsible. My feeling is that their initial crew should be supervised by someone who is monitoring how the work is being done, and that should be done in a way that avoids causing problems. We have not yet had our contractor fix these areas. We are happy with the roof overall, but the response of-you should have read your contract-has left a bad feeling about the whole job. Hopefully we do not need another roof for a long time. Update: River Roofing made good on fixing the problem that we had with the "nail pops" that occurred during the installation of our roof. John called and offered to either send someone to fix the problem or to pay for having it fixed. Since our contractor will be doing some other work for us in the next few months, we opted to use him. We got an estimate, contacted River Roofing to let them know, and true to their word, a check arrived in the mail. Hopefully no one else has a problem, but if you do, contact the company and they will take care of it. Thanks John and River Roofing--it's nice to know that a business actually reads the reports that are submitted on Angie's List. You have helped to restore my faith in customer service. I will definitely use this company in the future for any roofing work.

After a particularly windy and heavy rain we noticed a leak coming through our kitchen ceiling. I called River Roofing and they were able to come out the next day (which was fine). Have you ever had a service person come to your home and from the looks of them you really have to think twice about even letting them in? That was definitely NOT the case here. The guy they sent arrived on time, looked very professional and was very polite. When he was done, he explained what the problem had been as well as all of the repairs that he had made. River Roofing charges $150 for the service call and if they need to do any work it also covers the first hour of labor. Our total bill for this was $150. I was extremely pleased and would recommend them without hesitation.

We obtained several quotes for this complex job. River Roofing worked with our board and gave us the most excellent service and product, for the fairest price, that we could ever have hoped for.

They sent out someone to tarp my roof to prevent any further damages right away. The work was performed shortly after I went into contract with them. Their tear off crew/clean up crew did an excellent job and were done in a matter of hours. The roofers were polite and finished in two days. I am very satisfied with the work and would reccomend them to anyone.

We had gotten quotes from at least 3 people. They were up there in price but they had the best reputation and had been around for quite some time. They were prompt and professional. When they were tearing off the original roof, they did a wonderful job of removing any debris or nails from the property. They did a great job!

River Roofing did a great job. There were a couple of glitches but they were quickly remedied. We were very happy.

Went well. I was told over the phone the charge to come out would be $150 and would include the first hour of labor. The two men that came fixed the leak fairly quickly and could have left then but instead used most of the remaining time to sweep of my roof. I was impressed by that.

River Roofing was the only roofing company I talked to that was able to do the job in the winter. They have enough workers that when a break came in the weather, they could move fast to get the roof removed and hauled away. They were very tidy and fast. Even though the weather did turn, they kept working efficiently. Our house is not an easy project. We have many add-ons and skylights to mention a few of the complications. One guy I called for an estimate nearly ran away screaming. River Roofing was polite and positive from the estimate through the finish. There was one problem with a broken glass over-hang that was replaced with a surface that turned out to not be adequate. They replaced it with a better material when I called to say it needed replacement. I really appreciated the professionalism they displayed from start to finish.

There were a few other glitches, they took apart a high-up gutter, which was left disassembled in the yard rather than put back, my gate came off its hinges, they left a stack of roofing materials in the yard and there are plastic scraps all over the yard. After being asked, they did come back out and reassemble the gutter, bolt the gate back on and retrieve the roofing materials after three months. And people tell me that all companies leave the stuff all over your yard, so apparently it just comes with the territory. But the experience with the ceiling and especially with them never calling me back, just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. What if the issue had been larger? My guess is that after you pay them, you have no leverage and after that whether they respond to your concerns is hit or miss. I'm sorry such a nice looking roofing job was marred by this unresolved problem and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, if you've paid, you're taking a gamble about whether they'll respond to your concerns. Update 10/05/10: After I had been calling River Roofing about the problems with the ceiling leak etc. for some weeks and getting no return calls, finally I did get a response. Two of the owners called me on separate occasions, very distressed, explained why there had been delays, and assured me that the supervisor who had been supposed to return my calls, and who had not, would be questioned about the situation, and it would be the subject of their upcoming performance review meeting. It was a little confusing as the owners had apparently not talked to each other about the situation, but they were both very apologetic and accommodating, and offered to work with me in any way possible, including financially, to finish any repairs that needed doing. This is the kind of service that I had been led to expect from River Roofing, and why I had gone to the company in the first place. So they did come through with superior service in the end. From hearing others' experiences, I gather that the difficult parts of my experience were an unusual situation due to some company emergencies. In the end my confidence in the company is restored and I am happy to recommend them.

It was a great experience from my perspective. They were completely done by the third day and that included replacing the flashing and vent covers. My homeowners association took care of it so I had out of pocket expense. They did a good job cleaning up and I only had to pick up one or two pieces of trash that they overlooked.

We did not end up choosing River Roofing for our roofing project, but we worked with Alan Ranch through the estimating processes, and he was awesome to work with - very thorough and knowledgeable. They have very competitive pricing when comparing like materials. A very good experience. We went with a competitor as they had equally good ratings, a bit lower price, and more importantly had an immediate opening to complete our project. Based off my experience with Alan, I would recommend them as a top candidate.

Our roof was getting old but not leaking, and we wanted to do some proactive maintenance on it. A contractor we consulted with recommended a new IB roof through River Roofing because we have a fairly flat roof. River installed the brown-based "Traditions" roof, which is a membrane-like roof that has the illusion of having shingles. The roof went on in one day. Initially River used the old metal caps on the front and back fascia, but we told a supervisor that that looked bad and we had expected all caps to be new, so they replaced them with new dark brown ones. We were not satisfied with the look of the front and back fascia boards at first because the membrane had an unfinished look. Replacing the metal caps and bringing extra cap material down the sides made it look a lot better. They also fixed the look of an obvious seam at our request so that the lines on one piece of the roofing material met the lines of the other. They sent a gutter company 6 days later to install gutters. In rainy weather our preference would have been to have the gutters installed the day of the roof install or the next day, but ultimately they were installed on the 6th day and looked great. The overall look of the roof now is of clean lines, and overall we are happy with the end result. We would have preferred that River Roofing take care of these minor appearance problems without our having to ask them to, but we eventually reasoned that the people who install the products probably aren't as affected by aesthetics as homeowners are. We are pleased that the site supervisor understood our needs and coordinated the fixes that we asked for. We would use River Roofing again and plan to recommend them based on the final appearance and functionality of the roof and the professionalism of their organization.

I called at the end of March and asked if they would still honor the quote they gave to the seller several months earlier. They said they would but the soonest they could get me in was May 5. A few weeks later, I got a call from the contractor saying he had an opening and he could do it tomorrow. I said OK. I got up and went to work the next morning and when I came home, it was all done (I work half time and came home at 3). The yard was clean, no asphalt debris (only dust inside). I inspected the roof and it was sealed tight around all the edges and they installed a vent where there hadn't been one. They replaced a few of the subroofing boards here and there and they even resealed a vent pipe on the gabled roof. The only drawback was that I felt disappointed that the contractor never actually talked to me about what I wanted done. The roof doubles as a sun deck and I wanted to ask him about resheeting it with a layer of plywood over the existing T&G boards to make it stronger. Also, the bottom left corner had been leaking right down the corner stud and I wanted to take a look at the possible dry rot in there. To their credit, that corner looks really good now. I called the office and the contractor was out in the field but the staff told me the 3/4 in T&G I have meets code for supporting people up on the roof. That's good to know, but I would have felt better with the plywood sheeting in there. I guess they were almost too good in their responsiveness. I've been up on the roof and under it in the rain and they did a really great job. As soon as I get my first time home buyers credit, I'm gonna call them again to work on the gable roof, but this time I'll be sure to talk to contractor first.

The entire job was done professionally, neatly and very quickly. I was very impressed with the speed in which the old roof was removed and the clean-up afterwards. The new roof was meticulously installed and flashing was replaced around skylights, if needed, to prevent future leaking. The entire job went extremely well, and we are very satisfied with their work. We would highly recommend them!

We called River Roofing on Monday morning, after reading their ratings on Angie's List. I explained the problem to the gentleman who answered, who was very reassuring and stated he could have a crew out later that same day. The 2-man crew arrived about noon, immediately assessed the problem, found the leak almost immediately, fixed it and were gone in about 30 minutes. The young man who was probably the "crew chief" knew what he was doing, obviously knows his business, and said he was 99.9% sure he had found and repaired the leak, but if we had any further problems to call them and they would return. It was immediately obvious that the leak was repaired as the drywall inside the house dried out immediately with the help of a small area heater and has remained dry. The crew was quick, efficient and reassuring. I would definitely use this company again as well as recommend them. When the crew arrived, I thought the crew chief looked familiar and, sure enough, we had used this company the year before for a small leak around the flashing on our woodstove chimney.

The experience with this company went very well. They came out quickly and finished the job quickly and did a good clean up job. They were respectful around my home the only problem I had was that one of the roofers step on my carpet with tar on his feet but they picked up the bill for that.
