Remove old roofing and install new composition roofing on two shop/outbuilding roofs

The entire project went perfectly. River Roofing's was the lowest of several bids we sought, and they honored it exactly, even though a few boards needed to be replaced. Our new roof looks spectacular, the quality of the installation was without flaw. The cleanup was immaculate as well. . In addition, River Roofing's selection was easily better then their competitors. Our roof was even installed a few weeks earlier than initially scheduled, which is what we wanted. Special thanks goes to our sales rep, Allan Ranch. Allan has been working in the roofing business for over forty years. He knows all about roofs and communicates his knowledge well. Allan was patient with my wife and me, and he answered all of our questions well. He was never pushy, and we always felt at ease in his presence. We score Allan an eleven out of a possible ten!

The sign of a great company is how they respond to problems. This was one of those projects where a ton of little things went wrong which delayed the installation for a while which is why I gave a C on timing. However, when I contacted the owner he immediately got back to me, stepped in, and solved all the issues. I waited for a super rainy weekend to fill this out. The roof performed exceptionally well and we could not be happier. I also have experience with River Roofing at my workplace. Always they are professional, provide a fair bid and get the work done on time. I can't recommend them enough.

It took more time than they bid for but they honored their bid and did a great job. I asked them to return several times for some details I was not happy with and they did without complaint. They are one of the most expensive roofing companies in Eugene, but their work is excellent and they stand behind it.

Tear off went very quickly. They sent over a large team and got it off in no time. They must've been spread thin when it came to getting the shingles on though. We had one roofer for our almost 3000 square-foot house and he worked sporadically over the next two weeks until it was done. Granted, this was during a very rainy time in spring, but it seems to me they could've sent a couple more guys over to help him out and get it done quicker. He seems to have done a very good job though along with the men who replaced rotted plywood and the skylights.

I called to make an appointment to fix a leak in my roof. The lady told me they were so booked she would not even take my name. A few days later a friend called River Roofing about a job that they had and they took the call and did the work. ???

Not a scrap of anything left behind, locked gate upon leaving and saw that braces were added under the eaves - my old grandma house appreciates that! Looks impressive! Many Thanks.

They were quick and efficient. Very good company. A little expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have used River Roofing twice and each time I must say they did a fine job for me. The quality of their work is not in question here. I called in Dec of 2014 to get an estimate to clean and repair my tile roof. I received that estimate via e mail 2 weeks later and I called to confirm the price was fine and that I really needed it done in Jan if possible. Joe called me back and said they were too booked and could they do it early Feb? I said "Of Course" Mid Feb I called the office again to touch base and ask what my status was and asked if they forgot about me? The front desk gal was super friendly as always. She assured me that Joe would call me soon to set up a date and time to do my roof. Needless to say, no call back so I tried one last time because I do like this company's work. I called and left one last message with the same gal on Feb 26th and then heard nothing back. I found a great company through Angie's list, he was prompt and really walked me through every aspect of the job that needed to be done. He actually walked my entire roof and spotted some things that will need extra attention. One of the worst things a business can do is to just flat out ignore clients. It is rude and extremely disrespectful. If a company is too busy or just isn't interested in a small job then I have much more respect for them if they just tell the truth and not jack people around!. For the record, I have used Angie's list for 9 projects to date, from painting to irrigation to new gutters and written good honest reviews for all. Overall I am very pleased with the companies I have used from this site!

The company was able to work our roofing project into their schedule ahead of the contracted date, so the project finished on the date that it was supposed to start, which we appreciated. Considering it was a roofing job, they were remarkably quiet. They Once they finished roofing, they thoroughly cleaned up any debris they created and actually left our yard in better shape than it was before the project started. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work, the professionalism of the crew, and the attention to detail exhibited by the salesperson. We highly recommend River Roofing to anyone needing a roof.

Called more than one, spoke to different people on each call. First time, they arranged to send out someone on the up coming Wednesday, my day off so I could be there. That person didn't show up, got a call/voice mail next day, saying the employee didn't come in that day, but they could send some one the next week, I agreed. That week, I got a call on Tuesday, left message letting me know they could come that day, but I was at work, so didn't hear the message until late in the day, called back, left message saying I would be available Wednesday or Thursday. Nothing happened after that, no calls, no follow up. I ended up going with another roofing company. Very poor communication, between the company and customer, and even withing the company it seems.

It was a very brief visit. He took one look around and said he wouldn't be providing a bid for the work because it was too much for his guys to have to haul materials from the drive to the house (about 50 ft through a wide fence opening). He said they already had too many bids that required that kind of hauling. I was a bit nonplussed at his attitude and will not likely call this company again for any roofing needs I might have. I did ask if he could give advice on using either PVC or TPO roofing and he said that there was no difference and that either of those roofs would be what is used in this area.

River Roofing called me a day ahead of the estimated work date, and asked if they could start removing my roof that day. I was shown samples of roofing tiles. Since I couldn't decide which color tiles I wanted, I went to River Roofing's office, and examined a large display with all the available choices. While I was gone, the old roofing was removed. The next day, the roofers arrived on time to install the new roof and skylight. The roofers were very efficient. Overall, I was extremely pleased with this company. The office staff, estimator and roofers were all very professional and friendly. The roof looks great. Clean-up was thorough.

They did not replace the chimney pan. They created a hole near the chimney by pulling of the old shakes and did not repair it. The chimney step flashing was poorly installed and it was rusting out because they did not install new flashing. They used the old head flashing on the skylight. They did not nail the plywood layer down before applying shingles to it. They used the old boots around the bottom of the three vent pipes, because of this there is a small area around the bottom of each pipe wear water had been seeping in for the past 16 years. They used the old flashing all over the house. They did not flash around the bottom edge of the roof, this cause paint to peel and dry rot. Their installation created a leak in the ceiling of my garage and a second large leak also in the garage. They came out to examine and fix the larger leak. They did not fix the leak and had the gull to charge me for the service. Now I have a hole and two moldy areas in my garage ceiling. They did not install step-flashing in the valley where the garage roof joins the main roof to the house. This was the cause of the leak referred to above.

Roger and crew were very professional. They arrived ahead of their projected time, and completed the work quickly. We were pleased with the simple solution to what we anticipated was a more extensive problem.

The guys who came by were friendly, competent and very fast.

He was very prompt, professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely be calling him for an estimate to replace our roof in a few years.

The new roof looks good and we have had no leaks. Installation went quickly and smoothly. However, before the work was done we told the supervisor that an old kitchen stove vent hole needed to be eliminated. After the roof new was on we saw that the vent was still there so we had to ask them to go back and fix it. Now, 9 months later, we are having trouble with our gutters, and we find that some of our fascia boards are rotted and some eve flashing is missing. We believe these things should have been pointed out to us at the time of roof installation since it's more difficult and expensive to repair them now. We paid top dollar for this job, so we expected better attention to detail. We would hesitate before using them again.

I called about a possible leak in the roof. Water was coming through the utility room vent. They were extremely polite, responded quickly, efficient use of time and very professional. I will definitely call them when we need our roof replaced.

River Roofing sent out two guys to inspect the roof and they were punctual and thorough, and carefully explained the problem with the roof edge (tile roof, rotting felt, water was getting up under the eaves). The bid indicated the work would require 2 1/2 days for the repairs only, and they were too busy to bid for the cleaning job.. The same two guys came to do the repairs. They were about 30 minutes late, but worked diligently through the day and returned the following day to finish up. Total time spent was about 9 1/2 hours. This seemed to be only a little over half the time estimated in the bid. I asked the company to reconsider the bid amount since the job took so much less time and they agreed to look into it. The guy who prepared the bid called me and agreed to reduce the bill?by 1 and 1/2 hours (not much). He also said they'd be happy to do the roof cleaning for $1,000. Since this was less than the other bids I had received ($1400) I agreed and the same two guys returned. They did a very good job on removing the moss and treating the roof. They also inspected the gutters (at my request, as I said I expected that to be included), but they said they could not do the necessary repairs. So I will still need to call a gutter repair service. Overall the repairs and cleaning were done very well. I was not satisfied with the guy on the phone , however, who was slow to return my calls, and I felt I was significantly overcharged. I do not plan to use River Roofing again.

Excellent experience. The estimator was prompt and efficient, and gave use a couple of options to choose from on materials. The tear-off crew arrived as scheduled, and were very fast and efficient. The new roof was applied by one worker (his partner called in sick), so it took the better part of a week. But the weather was good and there was no risk of water damage. He did an excellent job. The final bill was exactly as estimated.
