Installed tankless water heater

him. What a rip-off!! We live in a 3-story home and the toilet in the bathroom on the main floor started gurgling and then overflowed. We have forced air heat and the vents are in floor in that bathroom and kitchen. I turned the water off behind the toilet but it just kept overflowing, about half an inch or so. It flooded the downstairs. I called KK and they had someone come out, but it took an hour or so. I specifically asked that they bring a wet/dry vac, which they did not have when he got here. We have a washer/dryer on the top floor, which he spent a lot of time looking at, as he thought the problem originated from the washer. It didn't, and they bill by their time, so about 15-20 minutes were spent figuring out that it wasn't that. It turned out to be a problem with our sewer line outside. The guy had to go back and get something to unclog the line, AND get the wet/dry vac he should have had in the first place. And he billed for that travel time. I wanted to do the wet vac while he was working outside, but he didn't allow that - extra billing time I guess. In any case, the equipment he had to go back for, and bill us his travel time for, was inadequate to fix the problem. He did call an outside plumber/contractor to come, who was able to fix the problem in about 20 minutes, and charged $85. Also, the KK plumber did a REALLY LOUSY JOB of vacuuming up the water. It was wintertime and we had the heat turned way up, with a space heater as well, and it took days for the carpet downstairs to dry. Plus it smelled really awful. I will never, NEVER, use these people again.

We have used Kevin Cohen Plumbing in the past and they always have done a great job at a fair price. Plumbing can be dirty work, especially when working with drains. They always clean up everything when they are finished. Today's job was a leaky toilet floor flange that had to be replaced. As in the past job was done in a reasonable amount of time and all debris removed.

Work was performed at an apartment house I own.

They were absolutely wonderful! They were expensive; however, they were just out of this world! I couldn't say enough about them. They said that my job was the second hardest job that they had done. I owe them so many thanks for their work.

Everything went smoothly, from first meeting Kevin Cohen's team at a recent local Home Show, to the estimate meeting, to the installation. His team spent a lot of time with us at the Home Show explaining their capabilities, listening to our list of plumbing needs, and then explaining the pros and cons of modern tankless water heater technology vs. traditional tanks. We set up a home visit for 2 days later. Kevin Cohen himself came out for the estimate and spent over an hour in our cob-webbed crawl spaces to fully understand the existing plumbing design, especially around our request for a recirculation line to the kitchen, laundry, and guest bath that are farthest from the utility room. He took photos to show his team. His thoroughness resulted in less work needed for that line than he originally assumed....translated to savings for us. He also discovered we already had a hot water recirculation line to our master bath, which we never knew (makes sense now since we never had a delayed hot water issue there) . Kevin listened well to what we wanted. We received a very detailed quote within a few days, with each mini-project broken-down including an estimated payback period on the future savings of putting in a tankless water heater. I researched online the cost and quality of the recommended tankless model, Rinnai's RC-98i, and learned it was a top quality model with very good reviews from consumers. His recommendation to include an auxiliary 6-gal electric water heater eliminated the hot-cold-hot sandwich effect one often hears about with tankless technology. Kevin's charge for the tankless was pretty much in-line with what I would have paid myself if I bought it online. No gouging there. Kevin's quote for the tankless system install and the hot water recirc line projects, in fact, came in $2300 less than a quote we received a year earlier from another local company. We accepted Kevin's bid and set up an install date. Installation day, Kevin and his friendly crew showed up right on time. With military-like precision, they set up shop and wasted no time getting to work. They knew what they were doing and it showed! The electrical sub-contractor arrived right on cue also, showing me exactly what work he had to do. Everyone kept me informed of their progress throughout the day. In fact, they discovered some dry rot I wasn't aware of and even gave me the name of a local construction company that could repair it. By mid-afternoon, they had everything installed and cleaned-up. They came back the next day for the anticipated city inspection and to test/check all water and gas systems, and balance the two recirculation lines. The City Inspector was a no-show that second day so one of Kevin's crew came back out the third day to ensure the city inspection went well and all was approved, again keeping me informed all along the way. Kevin's team and his office manager, Marcia, were always prompt in answering our questions and following-up on details. Kevin's team designed and installed a nice system. We now enjoy almost instant hot water in the farthest faucets of our house, especially the kitchen, which is 2 stories above and on the opposite side of the house from the water heater. No more waiting 2-3 minutes for hot water there! In addition to this convenience, we're also looking forward to reduced water, sewer, and natural gas bills. I'm looking forward also to filling up our 350 gallon hot tub with that outdoor hot water faucet. No more waiting all day for the hot tub to heat up! Brilliant suggestion from Kevin. A very pleasant, no-hassle, problem-free experience. Professional, honest, friendly, efficient, and high quality workmanship. We were also able to pay with our favorite credit card. We're now having him bid on a new kitchen sink and faucet install. Finally, they dropped off an Angie's List Review form on my front porch yesterday, not knowing I'm already a member. That says volumes to me about the integrity of this company when they actually encourage us to critique their work online.

I called them and they were out within three hours, explained what they were going to do, dug a small hole and put about 45 feet of new pipe in, connected it, closed up the hole, and raked it. They didn't walk on my plants, no mess left anywhere, was very polite and the yard looks good.I was really happy!

The plumber was fast and efficient. He even offered a cap to cover the new plumbing so the sheetrockers would not damage the new faucet.

Very poor service.

Kevin Cohen Plumbing Inc. was alright. Their prices seemed comparable to others in the area. They wanted to cut the dry wall to see the plumbing, but we convinced them not to and they had no problem. I was not happy with the fact that I might of had to do that. I was glad I did not.

Our service is covered by a home owner's maintenance contract. The service the way they rated it was about $1200.00. The price seemed a little high to me, but I was perfectly satisfied with them. I will use them again in the future as long as I don't have to pay for it.
