+ -1 moreEverything went well. They showed up before 9am and were there until after 6pm. They worked hard the whole time. They were super professional and a nice group of guys. I was comfortable having my son around them.
Description of Work: Todd came out with 2 other gentleman cleared out a truck load of rock and cement to make way for our new patio and walkway. First they took out the old cement walk way. Then they brought in a “baby” bob cat and took out a entire truck load of rocks. My son had a blast watching them move the rocks around. They then came in all three moved rocks around to smooth out the area. They work in a dance, not much talking just moving from area to area. Knowing what each one should do next. They then start to set up the area for cement. Putting up wood stakes all over. Once the walk way is set up the way I explain, my husband shows up at home, and says. "No, I want the walk this way." Todd smiles and changes it. The cement man was coming so it was under the gun to get it the way my husband wanted, but it was no difficult task for these men. The cement guy shows up and all three go to work taking wheel barrows full of cement to the patio area. After getting the patio level, and smoothed out, they play the hurry up and wait game. The cement must set up for awhile so that they can brush off the frosting and expose the aggregate. In the meantime my family shows up and my niece decides to walk on the new walkway, it was so beautiful.. But the cement was wet. After a lot of tense moments Todd exposes the walk way all fixed up. He and his helpful workers were able to get it all worked out. In the meantime while waiting around Todd and crew decide to fix our curb down on the street. (No we did not ask!) Once it was time everything looked beautiful. We are so happy we went with Todd and the twins!

I was comparing his price to someone else's and I am very pleased with the price I got. I would highly recommend him. He was very friendly and straight forward. Just a pleasant experience.

+ -1 moreThey were professional in all regards. I was amazed that Todd returned my call for a bid promptly, arrived to give the bid when he said he would, gave a reasonable (though not the least expensive) bid and had his crew on site when he promised. I would absolutely recommend them.
Description of Work: They poured an aggregate patio in our back yard area. It was a difficult area to access but they did an outstanding job. While the ground was pretty much level, they had to deal with a fish pond and a rock wall and other obstacles.

He said he would try to come by that evening or the next day and that he would give me a call. I never heard back (he had both my phone and my address). It would have saved me a couple days if he had said he was too busy, my job was too small, he couldn't get out to look at my problem until later. I contacted a couple other companies and they both came out and did an estimate, so I wound up going with one of them.

+ -1 moreThe project went very well. Todd was very thorough and professional and a nice guy in general as were all of his crew. The equipment, noise, and mess for a week were a drag and unavoidable but he kept it moving along to get the driveway removal done as quickly as possible. It was a dilemma to figure out how and where to put in drains before laying the new driveway but Todd figured it out. The weather also turned bad with a lot of rain and some snow which provided an opportunity to see where the leakage was in the basement. We called him on a Sunday to tell him there were leaks despite the drains and he came over within the hour to look at the problem himself cutting short an excursion with his family. Todd spent an hour figuring it out. The next day his crew was out redoing the drains. The driveway was completed in a timely manner and looks beautiful. I would highly recommend this contractor for any driveway and drainage problems.
Description of Work: We had an old driveway removed and a new one put in including drains underneath driveway to help with leakage problems in the basement. This was a major job with big equipment to remove layers of old driveway; 16 inches thick in some places. It is also a circular driveway.

+ -1 moreOf the 5 bids, Todd was the first to return my call and give me a written bid. Due to a cancellation he was able to start sooner than expected. Todd and Jeremy were always on time and kept me informed during the 4 day job that continued to get interrupted by rain. They were very professional and listened to ideas and changes I had along the way. Todd's price was very fair considering the complexity of the job (angles and slopes) and came in $4000 under the highest bid. We are very pleased with the outcome of our new patio and walkways.
Description of Work: Framed and poured a 700 sq ft patio (part of the patio went up to a pond) and 2 walkways totaling 300 sq feet. One walkway across the width of our backyard with 3 steps and another along the side of our house. All exposed aggregate.

Description of Work: We needed a curb cut, 23 feet of sidewalk replaced and a short 20 x 10 foot driveway and two retaining walls poured on either side of the driveway. Todd was prompt with an estimate, even coming out on a Saturday to do the bid because he had a busy week ahead of him. He offered helpful suggestions and was knowledgeable and polite. While we did not hire him, his bid was within a couple hundred dollars of the company we chose because we had a friend with personal experience with the other company. This was a tough decision. Estimated cost was about $7,000 if I remember correctly.

+ 0 moreThey did a great job on the work- I had a very expensive Japanese split leaf Maple next to the porch, and when I spoke with Todd, he said they did try to tie it back but the branches kept breaking. Now I have half a tree. They left the tomatoes from their pizza in the flower beds, totally hosed down the remote control to my garage. His workers attitude about the ancillary parts of the job, the tree especially, was very flippant and cavalier. I am very very disappointed and probably should have done what you recommend and that is check with the BBB. I spoke with him today and he agreed that if I need additional help with my tree he would send someone out to attend to it.

The work involved a fair amount of hauling to the truck as a bobcat wouldn't fit into my backyard. This increased the estimate, but it was still among the lowest I received. The work was done quickly and conscientiously, and the final price matched the estimate. I appreciated the quick turnaround.
Description of Work: Jackhammered and hauled away an 8x8 concrete hot tub pad.

+ -1 moreTodd did an excellent job. There were a couple of areas that needed to be redone, but Todd came out the same day that we called him. He seemed to take his job quite seriously and was concerned that the work be done correctly. We were quite pleased with the outcome. He cleaned up the area to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: We were selling a house and the pathway to the front door along with several stairs were in need of repair. After reading the reports on Angie's List, we chose Todd Boehme Concrete. We asked Todd to completely redo a long pathway from the driveway to the front porch. Todd met at the house and evaluated the job. He promptly called us back with a bid. We accepted his bid and he then scheduled the time. He contacted the disposal service and ordered the concrete drop box, he and his crew removed the old concrete and poured the new. Todd always kept us informed as to the progress of the job. For example, he called and informed us that the pathway would need to be made a bit narrower to save the shrubbery along the way. It wasn't even noticeable to us. There was a delay in receiving the concrete he needed, but he always kept us up to date.

+ -1 moreThey gave me an estimate over the phone and when they came out, the estimate was the same. They started 2 days later with the demolition, and 2 days after that they did the concrete work. They were competent, efficient, and very helpful with ideas to make the finished result look better than I had envisioned. If I ever need concrete work done again, I would call them first.

+ -1 moreWonderful. Todd is a no-*expletive* guy who knows his business. He was able to quickly quote the job at a reasonable rate, schedule the work and get it done (with one minor delay) with excellent results. The only hitch was that the volume of concrete needed was fairly small, so we got bumped by the concrete supplier for a day or two. Otherwise, the driveway work completely solved the water problem, and the foundation work was perfect. I will be calling him again later on when I need some patio work done.
Description of Work: We had a section of driveway re-poured to eliminate a water flow/intrusion problem and a footing/foundation repair.

+ -1 moreMy driveway had several issues; got three estimates and each had a totally different approach to solving the problems. Todd's plan was the only one that made sense, and his estimate was significantly lower than the others. He appeared on time and kept me informed as the work went along. The job turned out to be more difficult than he had anticipated, and cost more than the estimate, but Todd made sure that I understood the issues and the final price was still less than the other estimates. My driveway tips downhill in two directions, and the approach to the garage was such that my car scraped every time I drove in. Todd eliminated the problems and the driveway looks GREAT! I would highly recommend him and his crew.
Description of Work: Removed old driveway. Reshaped and poured new driveway, installing drains.

+ -1 moreTodd arrived on time to remove the driveway. Once started the removal proved much more difficult than originally thought because of a multitude of large tree roots under the driveway. The cost was a bit higher due to the additional tree roots which had to be disposed of. The original estimate was to remove the driveway and pour the concrete on a subsequent day. Todd was able to schedule the concrete to be poured on the same day as the demolition making this a one day process. The new driveway looks great and I'm very pleased with the entire experience.
Description of Work: The driveway needed to be removed and replaced. Because of a large fir tree on either side of the driveway it was cracked and raised. Todd was prompt in providing a bid and an explanation of the work needed to be done. He was professional and courteous throughout the project. Todd was able to schedule the work within a week of the original bid. He was always timely and called if there were any delays.

He had an opening in his schedule, so he gave me an estimate on a Tuesday and completed the work by the following Thursday. He and his team were thorough and professional. Todd also kept me apprised of any changes in his approach, giving me a thorough explanation for why he was doing everything the way he was doing it. I really appreciated his professionalism, knowledge and the quality of the work.
Description of Work: Graded and prepped 6x60' area between mine and neighbors houses so water would flow away from our foundations, poured concrete.

Todd and crew arrived early, just when they said they would, did a very thorough, neat and tidy job, worked in the heat of a very warm day and quickly and efficiently did the job. It looks great and I'm very happy with the job. They had to remove some huge roots from the driveway bed and did it well, cut up the roots and disposed of them. Everything was done to my complete satisfaction.
Description of Work: Todd and crew dug up and removed old concrete, prepared for the concrete, and when it was delivered they did a great job completing it.

+ -1 moreI called Mr. Boehme for an estimate. He came out the next day. He called me the next morning with the estimate which seemed high at the time but he was the first person to give me a estimate although he was not the first person who had come out. I chose him because I felt he was the most thorough in explaining all the issues and city requirements and he was honest about the extent of the job. He was able to start right away. He and his crew arrived promptly every day for 4 days. They worked hard all day often from 8 am to after 6 pm. He kept the area clean. He called and met with the city arborist and inspector. I asked him to do some additional work. He was very thorough in explaining what the arborist and inspector wanted which resulted in more money but he had warned me that this could happen. He cleaned up all the excess cement. He made sure all the surfaces and edges looked good and that water drains appropriately. I think my concrete looks great and so do my neighbors.
Description of Work: Mr. Boehme replaced the walkway from the driveway to the house, replaced a large sloping driveway and approach, 90 ft of city sidewalk, the corner handicap ramp and adjacent curbs and street gutters. He removed 4+ dumpsters of concrete. In replacing the sidewalk he had to remove with the approval of the city arborist very large roots from 3 trees. He replaced the drain pipe that runs from the roof gutter to the street.

+ -1 moreTodd initially came out to estimate repairing the bad areas of our driveway and he was willing to do that job. We instead decided to replace the driveway completely. He returned in a timely manner to measure and estimate a complete re-pour. Once we decided to do the job, Todd put it on the schedule for as soon as weather allowed. At the first sustained break in rainy weather, Todd notified me that he would arrive the next morning to begin. He and his crew arrived right on time and started working. They got the job done completely in only two days. The quality of the work is excellent! The new driveway looks great, has very clean lines, and they finished it off with a broom sweep. We are so impressed with how great the driveway looks and are extremely happy we had the entire driveway replaced. For what they did and especially considering the quality, the price was very good. Overall, the experience with Todd Boehme was outstanding. We would HIGHLY recommend him!
Description of Work: Todd and his crew removed and hauled-away our old driveway, which was damaged, sunken in areas, and very old and in need of replacement. They then set, poured, and shaped a new concrete driveway.
