It didn't!

I got Todd's name from Angie's list. A few days after I called for a bid, Todd came and gave us a reasonable bid. In a day or two I left a message on his machine saying we would like him to do the work. It took several weeks for the weather, our schedules, and all else to work well together. On the day we agreed the work would be done, I asked Todd to be here early so I could review the job before I went to work. He went out of his way to do this. As we discussed the job, we realized that several of the factors in the job were not understood when the bid was done. Todd had to give us an adjustment to the bid, but he worked with us to come to an agreed-upon amount for the job. He gave us a discount, because of the misunderstanding about the job. He worked professionally with us and with his assistants. When I returned from work and found that one part of the job still wasn't done correctly, Todd immediately agreed to come back the next day and correct the mistake, which he did.

Todd was one of the very few Angie's List contractors who was actually interested in doing my job. I guess this is the downside of the list - everyone wants the good guys. Anyway he quoted without seeing the property - I sent him a drawing via email and he worked off that. My wife decided not to have the side path done (part of the original quote) and I made some adjustments after Todd looked over the site - repositioning joints etc. so there was some adjustment to the original quote. Todd and his two helpers arrived almost on time - an accident on I5 slowing him down a bit - and completed the job in about six hours. The concrete (from Morse Bros.) also arrived exactly on time and was poured very efficiently. Now that it's had time to dry it's not a bad match with the old concrete (our main concern) and should get better with time.

Todd did an absolutely incredible job. I called him and he was right out to give us a bid. I liked what he talked about and did not go out for another bid. Having been in construction myself I could tell that he knew his business. The crew was very professional. They worked very quickly. They cleaned up after the job and the work itself is perfect. I have more concrete work to do and Todd will be doing the rest of it as well.

Overall, the experience was great. They started the job when promised and did a great job on my steps. They found some problems along the way, notified me, and corrected them (wiring coming through wall under steps had to be moved, wood around steps needed to be replaced, rock wall next to steps needed to be adjusted).

The work was not performed because Mr. Boehme did not show up. He was very late to appointments or did not come at all. His price changed several times and he would not provide a written quote despite several promises to do so. He did not return phone calls. This was a very bad experience.

They had fast service and did quality work. I have more projects coming up, and I will use him.

Great work crew. Todd did much of the work himself with a small labor crew. They ran into problems that were unexpected and so had to charge additional fee for labor. He kept us informed of the problems and the progress all the way along the project. The project was completed 2 days ahead of schedule. He was reluctant to take our personal check because it draws on a cash management account (not a traditional bank). I did get a cashier's check for him even though it was not convenient.

The contractor and his crew were very professional. They were a pleasure to work with, and did very high quality work. All agreements were honored and the quality of the final product met with my highest expectations.
