After only 19 years my "30-year roof" was well past it's prime and needed to be replaced. The previous roofing company hadn't done a very good job in ventilating the roof and it had simply cooked itself. The deteriorating composition shingles began to leak and the underlying sheathing was beginning to warp in places. I arranged for estimates from several area roofing companies. The least expensive proposal came from a company that offered a lower grade shingle along with a menu of "upgrades" that made the price go up quickly. On top of that, I had to wait 3 weeks just to have someone come out to look at the roof and another week to receive their proposal. The most expensive proposal came with a high-grade shingle, but at a fairly steep price. Valley Roofing's proposal fell in the middle. They were prompt with making an appointment to inspect the existing roof and they quickly offered up a proposal. Their offer included a high-grade shingle at a lower price, plus extras that other companies didn't include. Valley Roofing was the clear choice for me. Jon and every member of his crew were a pleasure to work with. They were professional, friendly and courteous at all times and kept the work area clean. Our house is an 1800 square foot ranch with a hip roof and 2 valleys. The workshop is a 300 square foot barn with a gambrel roof. The crew had their work cut out for them! It only took them 2 days to tear off the old roofs of both the house and the workshop, replace bad sheathing and install new, beautiful roofs on both structures. Other companies told me that I'd have to hire a separate contractor to do the flashing work around a brick chimney. Valley Roofing did that work themselves, saving me from that hassle. They also doubled the number of roof vents, allowing the roof the breathe better and not cook itself to death like the previous roof. To give the entire roof a uniform appearance, they painted all of the plumbing vents, electrical service mast and the water heater chimney the same color as all of the roof vents and flashing. That was a nice touch I'd never seen before! I have no qualms whatsoever about recommending Valley Roofing. I doubt this house will need another roof while we still live here, but if we move to another location in need of a roof, Valley Roofing will be the only choice for me.

The entire 6 (or so) person crew started on Labor Day 2016 (really!) doing all removal of old roof and gutters, repairing dry rot fascia boards, replacing some old tongue/groove boards, then covering whole roof with 1/2" plywood, ice/water shield or synthetic underlayment. This was easily done between about 8AM-4PM on day 1. No delivery of roofing material on Labor Day, so entire new roof ready to be delivered and put on next day. Day 2, roofing material delivered to rooftop by 8AM and entire roof job inc. gutters/downspouts installed by 5PM. This was a lot of work on my house within only two days. All of the workers did a very high quality job, very impressive detailed work right down to the gutters/downspouts and final clean-up. One of the reasons I picked this company, above many others, was there attention to me during the bid process. During the original estimate, they showed up right on time and spent almost one full hour on my roof going over my concerns, then later getting right back to me usually within the same day via email or phone if I had any other questions or changes to bid. Other roofing companies would sometime take a week or more to get back to me on original bid or days to ask new questions, some would never call me back at all. Valley Roofing's bid wasn't the lowest, nor was it the highest, but what finally sold me was there quick response for bid and other questions. Also, friendly estimator (Joe) spent an hour with me on roof (initially) listening to my past roof problems and what could be done, then describing how Valley Roofing wants to install only the best quality roof possible in materials/workmanship. This company is fairly new (only five years old) and has a young owner who really wants to install a roof that will last for decades by using the best materials and workmanship--which he backs up with a lifetime material/labor warranty. The day after all work was done, the owner (Jon) came over by himself for final inspection. I had a couple of very small issues with gutter brackets, metal trim on corners of house, a few screws needed here or there, etc. which he himself spent nearly an hour fixing to my satisfaction, all while going over entire roof/gutter work. So, overall very satisfied with attention to detail in workmanship, great quick communication via email/phone, owner himself checking work afterwards and my roof looks like it will last 50 years! Just beautiful!

This was by far one of the best experiences I've had with a roofer, bar none. I've built homes in the past and never did I have one that was more upfront, honest and did what they said they were going to do like Valley Roofing. My house had approx 40 squares and they did the entire tear off and reroof in 3 days. Quite impressive as this was not a small job at all and the pitch is 8/12. Jon is doing this the right way and I expect to see good things from him going forward. Their bid was very good.. I had others for 5 to 6 thousand more. Bottom line - I'd not hesitate to hire them again!

Excellent! Valley Roofing's estimate and crew were professional and prompt. There was a slight issue with the estimate, but it was easily corrected via eMail. They did a great job. We especially appreciated the move of the solatube collector to place it over the diffuser in the kitchen. The gutter replacement worked fantastic as it closed a gap that leaked rainwater onto our deck. We would hire Valley Roofing again. Keep up the great work!

Valley Roofing just completed a re-roofing job at our house. All three bids we obtained were roughly the same. The house is one-level, 1800 sf, plus a large garage, so the roof is pretty big, with three valleys. Our old roof was 26 years old, made of concrete tile and had begun to fail and leak in several places. In converting from concrete to composition roof, the gutters had to be lowered and the fascia boards cut down, adding labor. The new roofing material is Certainteed Northgate. The re-roofing job came with all new flashings, vents, drip-edges, etc., and inspection of roof plywood. At every step of the process, communication with project manager Joe has been excellent. I'm not a roofing expert, but the new roof looks great and I have confidence that the crew installed it with skill and expertise. The job took two days. Since the gutters were removed and reinstalled they need to be re-sealed at the corners. This needs to wait until dry weather, and so the company owner Jon has promised to return in spring to reseal the gutters at no extra charge. This attention to detail and thoroughness leaves me feeling good that we trusted Valley roofing with such a major job on our home.

They came and diagnosed where the leak came from in the flash of an eye?I was really, really pleased. They gave me the name of a drywall person to repair the drywall for me.

Joe did a great job at a very fair price. Went way beyond deal and cleaned all gutters and blew off walkways and pad. Don't see this kind of service very often any more. Would highly recommend. Will use again for other roofing needs. Thx!

Andy was on time and performed all the duties as promised. He also, voluntarily and at no additional cost, repaired 3 roof tiles, and offered advise on roof replacement when I requested it. He was very pleasant to work with, very low key and willing to be helpful in any way possible.

I purchased the gutter cleaning through Angie's List. Valley Roofing promptly contacted me and confirmed one of the three dates that I mentioned worked for me. Then I mentioned that I had some minor repairs such as re-attaching downspout to the gutter and would like a quote for that work to be done in the future. Joe arrived and was very professional. He performed outstanding work, going above and beyond the original scope of work. I will be replacing my roof in a few years and will definitely be contacting Joe for a quote since I am very impressed with Valley Roofing.

First time when I purchased was on 1/21/15. They went back supposedly. He gave me an estimate and afterwards about a month later and repurchased service and informed him of the issues. This is my mother place and she did not see the guy or the truck and she was there all day. He still sent me a quote. I emailed him and he never responded back. I explained to his wife and informed her to have him to call me back. The gentleman never contacted me back. He took the money on the first he came in but did not show up the second time he just sent a previous estimate instead actually checking the roof.

Very professional... did total job in one day. were helpful with a couple "add on's" - such as installed a weathervane for me. I was impressed with the speed and quality. Was concerned because it was an old (probably 80 yrs old) hip roofed barn - wouldn't be concerned with quality... but appears to me to be quite good indeed. Would use again in a heartbeat. Also - maybe because the other bidders of the job just didn't want to do the barn - was by far the least expensive. Happy all the way around....

Unbelievable - in a good sense! The team arrived on time (actually, a few minutes early - I wasn't quite ready!), ready to go and got to it. Each person there was obviously well trained and experienced as each guy got to work quickly and quietly without a lot of orders having to be issued by foreman. They had everything they needed - their preparations were thorough. Even though my home is not in Valley Roofing's normal job area, the only materials someone had to run to the store for was for some lumber to do an eaves repair job that was not part of the original estimate. They had it all! All employees were respectful of my family and home, their work was detailed and uniformly excellent, and there was nothing I had complaints about after the job was done. They left my yard cleaner than it was when they arrived! Because of a bat infestation (remember: 80+ year old house!) and repairs needed to eliminate the bats and keep them from coming back, I had my pest control contractor contact Valley Roofing ahead of time to talk directly. Valley Roofing made changes as requested by my pest contractor without complaint AND WITHOUT REVISING MY ORIGINAL QUOTE even though it caused them additional work and preparations. I think the most important aspect to the entire process was the manner in which the owner and crew treated me throughout the process, before, during and after installing the roof: professionally and with respect. These folks were terrific and acted as through I were not only their most important client, they acted as through I were their only client! I absolutely recommend Valley Roofing to anyone considering a new roof. You will be dealing with a contractor that has integrity, class and pride in how the job is done!

Purchased through Angie's List "special deal." Valley Roofing contacted me within 48 hours and set up appointment for following day. I asked about applying moss control materials, and was told that if I supplied the product, they would apply it for no additional cost (normally costs $75). The owner of the company showed up on time, and completed the work promptly. I feel he gave me an honest assessment of the condition of my roof and didn't try to sell me a service that was not needed. When I actually need a repair or a new roof, I will use this company.

The provider was very prompt and went about the job quickly. He was so quick that my husband didn't even know he had been up on the roof!

Jon and his crew arrived at the agreed-upon time, early in the morning, and completed the job in a very professional manner. They were very courteous, respectful, and skilled while completing the work. They did a thorough job of cleaning up after completion of the job. Jon came out the next day, as he stated in the e-mail. It was a very hot day, nearly 100 degrees. Jon did a great job fixing the flashing, which I verified with a visual inspection. He followed-up with an e-mailed invoice the next day and shared his concerns with the general condition of our roof. Overall, Jon was responsive, timely, did quality work, and was reasonably priced in comparison to at least one other company. If I need roof work done again, I'll contact Valley Roofing and recommend them to anyone.
