Glen and his team were great, old roof was torn off and 3 sheets of bad decking was replaced, new waterproofing membrane installed along with new ridge cap and flashing, and then the new architectural shingles installed. They also put in additional roof vents and even painted venting pipes to match new roof color. Job only took 2 days to complete and all debris was cleaned up immediately. Roof Rite does most of the roofs in my neighborhood and I see why...wonderful job and the price quoted was what I paid. They were slightly higher than another company but provided better value in the quality of materials and overall thoroughness of their work. Would definitely recommend!

Project went quickly and efficiently.. Roof looks great and yard was left as neat and free of debris as realistically possible. Crew was very experienced and professional! Crew lead returned immediately to address small glitches. (Only unfixable cosmetic glitch is holes in overhang...because wood is thinner than roofing nails.) Highly recommend this company!

Glenn Pankhurst, the owner of RoofRite Services, came out the same day I called. He went up on the roof to inspect and measure then he gave me a quote. It seemed very reasonable. Even so, he explained that he is seldom the low bidder because he insists on using only quality workmanship and materials, and installing components that low-bid roofers seldom do, like quality metal valley flashing and edge flashing. He was very easy to talk to and took plenty of time for my questions. He told us about how many other homes he had roofed in our area and offered to supply us with references. Based on all of this and the input from others, we decided to go with Glenn and we are happy we did. The roof is beautiful. We used Glenn's shingle color recommendation and it fits the house perfectly. Josh, one of Glenn's installers, worked fast and professionally. He obviously really knew his stuff. On top of that, he was just a really nice guy. We were surprised that he painted all of the vent pipes, jacks and roof vents black to fit the look of the roof. It really looks sharp. At the end of the job, Josh took lots of time to clean up. When he was done, there was not a sign that he had been there, except for the beautiful roof. In the end, Glenn did a final inspection of the job and double-checked the cleanup. We are SO satisfied. I would recommend Glenn Parkhurst and RoofRite Services to anyone who wants a quality roof install.

Description of Work: Glenn Parkhurst (owner) and his employee Josh were excellent. Not only did Josh have to work in the rainy Oregon conditions, he was very attentive to my requests. Glenn was very easy to communicate with and came to my home several times during the installation. I highly recommend RoofRite Services.

Glenn said the roof was not in bad condition at all, had about 7 yrs plus left and could be spot treated. He also found the reason the vents had leaked - the original installation of the vents by the heating company had been put in at a slant so that left it very vulnerable to pull away. New vents would remain vulnerable to do the same as they went through weathering. He suggested I call the Heating company to have those re-installed properly.. In the meantime he had to remove tiles to get where he need to install new flashing etc (I don't know all the terminology). There had been an attempt previously to patch this and the pipes were in awful condition covered in tarry stuff, hard to remove to get the old vent out. Anyway, he spent much more time on this project than he had bargained for on a Friday. He really went beyond expectation - a trip to the hardware store - no short cuts. He showed no irritation or impatience with the many times up and down the ladder and I felt I made a new friend at the end. I felt the check I paid was very fair. I would highly recommend his company.
Description of Work: I had leaking evidence from the vents in the roof that were for the air con/heating. I had called Glenn because he was referred to me by a neighbor. They used him for tile roof maintenance and their roof stood out as well cared for. I actually wanted him to assess my roof to see if it needed to be treated and how much life he thought it had. (We had moved in 2yrs ago). I had a previous quote from Roof Life of Oregon that was astronomical. He fixed the problem for me and gave an idea of what to budget for in the future.

When we had a new roof put on our home 18 years ago, the company used the wrong material on the flat roof part of the home. Consequently, we had a leakage problem 3 years after being installed. Roof Rite, tore off all our old roof and on the flat roof part of the home, applied 2 different types of roofing (ice and water and stick and peel) which should have been used in the first place on the flat roof part. We had dry rot around one of the skylights, and in 5 other areas of the roof, which were replaced. In addition to being efficient, I really appreciated the daily clean up around my home. Also, the owner was part of the crew, and if not working with his crew on that day, checked in, keeping me updated with timelines and what was going on. I also appreciated the professionalism of the company. When I had to leave the house, I never worried about anything, as I knew I had an honest, professional crew that resulted in a quality, beautiful roof.
Description of Work: Replace old roofing, 2 new skylights and 6 sheets of plywood that had dry rot. Also, removed an old antennae and TV Dish.

I needed a new roof installed before the winter rains came. What color should I select? Instead of trying to figure out how a color would look from a small sample he gave me a handful of houses in my area that they had done so I could get an idea of how the color truly looked on a completed roof. After I selected the color I was scheduled to start tearing off the old roof within a short period of time. Lots of work to remove 2 very old layers of roofing but they showed up on time & worked hard till it was all off. Had to replace some sheets of old plywood. I also requested more vents be installed & they did a great job adding them. There was a custom sun roof in the kitchen that had been installed in the years past that hadn't been installed properly but they worked on it to make sure they could get it to seal properly. All old roofing was dumped into a trailer, nothing was thrown all over the yard. The new roofing was installed & it looks Great! Everything was cleaned up when the job was completed. The owner kept me informed on the progress so there was nothing I was left in the dark wondering about. Professional, timely, reasonable rates, quality workmanship, & quality materials.

It went very well. He was right on budget. They were on time. He gave us a list of some other customers. He was not hesitant about giving us names or phone numbers or other information so we could contact other people that had also had their roofs done by them. They all said the same thing which was, he is definitely on time and priced just right. He was very honest about this product versus that product. He could have very easily directed us or quoted us the higher cost but he said hey, what you want and what you are looking for, he gave us something middle price. We were so ignorant that if he had said, you needed this we probably would have believed him. We had 3 other estimates and he came in right in the middle. A little bit lower than the high one, a little bit more than the lower one. He was one of 3 that we did. He was there when he said he would be and did it in the time frame that he said he would do it.

I requested bids from 4 companies to replace my cedar shingle roof with composite shingles. When comparing across the board for the quality I wanted, Glenn Parkhurst’s company (Roof Rite Services) was about $2000 cheaper than the competition. Even though he hadn’t been rated by anyone on Angie’s list yet, the referrals he provided (about 40 of them) and the excellent job he did in educating me on roofing convinced me to give him a chance. He and his crew are totally focused on quality and professionalism (a big plus here after talking to several neighbors who had roofs done by different companies). They kept me abreast of all my needs and kept their promises including great clean up each day and minimum interruption in my life. I was really impressed that not only is he a great roofer but a general contractor also – he is the only person that was willing to add an attic ladder in my garage and his team found and fixed without any additional charges gutter issues I had.
Description of Work: Replaced shingle roof with composite roof. Installed garage attic ladder. Fixed gutter leaks.
