Thank goodness I used Murphy's! Turns out our chimney had not been cleaned properly for years, and the outside brick was falling apart, including actual holes and cracks! My guy took pictures, and I took pictures of what he found in the woodstove, and I am going after the old company for whatever I can go after them for. I may lawyer up- it's that bad. It had obviously been neglected for several years. We have to get the work done, and it's not going to be cheap. We would have done it sooner, had we known; we take our fireplace and the maintenance of our house seriously. I wish I could remember my Murphy's guy's name- I was very impressed with him. But the name slipped my mind when I saw the pictures of how our former company had neglected us (I don't know if the former company is on Angie's LIst or not; I actually came on to look.) My 2016 receipt shows the chimney and brick as "perfect", when it was falling apart even then! So I'm furious at them, and ever so grateful for Murphy's! We will have to have the top half of our chimney rebuilt, but thankfully, Murphy's caught it before it got even worse!

Experience all around was excellent! From Paul the owner coming to do chimney sweep and inspection then estimate for chimney rebuild (100 year old house and original chimney falling apart) to gas fireplace insert proposal. The installer, Ted, was wonderful, went extra mile by realizing before installed stove was too big or got replacement smaller unit same day, customized faceplate to enhance my antique house and finished job next day. Love my new fireplace and when workers saw the bad shape my gutters were in, TED took measurements to work up gutter replacement proposal! Very impressed with everyone I dealt with and highly recommend!

They did good job, not only made fire place working but cleaned it very well, the guy also provide lots useful information of how to make gas file place warm more area and more efficient. Great job!

Everything about the inspection went well. Next time, however, I would tell the scheduler how steep my roof is so Murphy's would schedule two people and the appropriate sized ladder so as to have the sweep done from the stop as opposed to from the inside, up. I am quite satisfied and believe the job was well done, though.

Very busy so appointment was a month out. On appointment day service technician was ill so took another two weeks to get work done. Would use Murphy's again.

Had to wait several months to schedule as they were very busy. On the day of our appointment the company called during our scheduled window (8am -10 they called past 8) to inform that our technician called out sick. I wish I had more advanced notice. Had to reschedule and another opening wasn’t available for several more weeks. Technician showed up at the very end of the window with no call or update on timing while we were waiting (window was 11-1 this time and he arrived at 1:12). Once finally there was quick and professional. If scheduling and punctuality wasn’t such a disappointment I would have recommended.

They replaced it in a very timely manner and it looks great. Although not expecting a chimney replacemet, they did a great job! I guesste price is what it is. good job!

Very smoothly. The workers stopped by in the morning to let us know that they had to take care of an emergengy with another workman. The returned before noon and completed the job that evening.

Technician called before arrival and arrived on-time. Worked the full extent of the one-hour appointment for inspection and cleaning. All work completed as advertised.

The technician did a great job! It took almost an hour for him to clean the entire fireplace, including the inside (logs, glass, walls) and the electronics and fan below. He was very thorough and the system was spotless when he was done. I was surprised at how much of a difference it made in the look and operation! Very happy with the service!! The only negative is that we asked if he could quote us for a replacement screen (ours is dented in multiple places) but we never received a call back about that.

It went quite well. I am still having a few problems with the stove, but not their fault, We used a Groupon coupon, so price/value was excellent.

Ted and Devon were very conscientious, but during the cleaning process, some connections were disturbed and the flame died several times after they left to return to Salem. I called Ted immediately and without hesitation he said they would turn around. After a few tries to remedy the situation Ted cleaned the connections and now all is well. They stayed quite awhile to find the problem and did not charge extra.
