Murphy's Fireplace & Stove Inc. was started in 2000 when Paul Sanders saw there was a need for a certified and fully trained chimney service company in the Willamette Valley area. You never have to worry if the person that is entering your home and servicing your vent system or repairing your fireplace is trained and certified, because we guarantee it! They arrived on time but had to leave to help a coworker who had been injured on a different job. They returned later in the morning and completed the job by the end of the day. They were very professional and made a point to pick up any debris from the job.

They were excellent - very responsive and helpful! Gutters/downspouts are working like they should have been all along.
Description of Work: We had some gutters that were slanted and water was going the wrong way. They were evaluated, and then they returned and fixed the gutters and the downspouts. We did pay extra for additional services.

Work accomplished as planned; even a bit ahead of schedule. I did have to intervene at one point to have the kick out from the downspout where I wanted it, but the readily obliged.

Terrible. They ignored my calls, finally sent out one person, then another. They then would not perform the services that are clearly stated on the Angie's list ad and tried to upcharge me. Its clear that they were looking for business in the winter and then decided that they don't have to do the work now that they are busy. Do not use them, they do not honor their commitments.
Description of Work: I purchased the 50 feet of gutter installation. They never called me. I had to call them several times to get someone out there. When the first guy arrived, he said it would be an additional $60 bucks. I said, fine. When he got back to the office, they called me and said he was mistaken and it would cost an additional $350. So $549 for 55' of gutter run out. This is bait and switch pure and simple. Do not buy anything from these guys, they will ignore you, hope you don't call them, then screw you. Avoid at all costs.

The technician was thorough, clean and fast. He cleaned the screen and the glass - and it looks wonderful. Before he came, the fireplace would run for 10 minutes and then shut down - all the time it was on; on and off, on and off. He fixed that too. It was a really great experience.

The technician was great. He went through and did a thorough inspection and cleaning of the entire fireplace. Gave us some advice on how to maintain it and left. The thing that we appreciated the most is how clean he was able to get the unit without making any type of mess in the home

The tune-up was very well done, everything explained, no part left uncleaned. The fireplace stopped working after 2 days, though. Then it took repeated calls and callbacks and dealings with the office staff to get a return visit to assess for repairs, (which I was ready to pay for). After 2 months, the wonderful and excellent technician returned, and got the fireplace working! So far, so good! Thank you, Henry!

The technician was very thorough and organized and was able to diagnose and fix the problem. He cleaned and check the fireplace and even cleaned the glass front. However, he accidentally placed a hot ceramic log on his tarp which burned the tarp AND the oriental rug underneath. He was very apologetic, took pictures of the damage and wrote it up. The office called the next day to offer to replace the rug ( we try to get it repaired). A mistake had been made but they accepted full responsibility with no hassle.
