Description of Work: Wrapped insulation around skylight channels, repaired leaking return air duct, and repaired damaged air duct. Also assisted with water damage problem.

Description of Work: We asked for an Energy Trust evaluation. What they found in our attic was really nasty - piles of mouse feces, dead bats, dead mice, dead squirrels, etc. Most of the rest of the house was fine. Day Energy completely cleaned out the attic including all the insulation and replaced the insulation with a type less tasty to rodents and sealed the entrance spots for them. They also found some dangling wires and advised us to contact an electrician to evaluate the problem before putting the insulation in the attic. Which we did. We are very happy with Day Energy Solutions.

Description of Work: Day Energy Solutions repaired my duct work and insulated my crawl space (that had no insulation) and attic (that had minimal insulation). Their Energy Specialist, Ahren, also identified a problem with a musty odor that I had noticed several times but not solved. Ahren found the souce of the problem and planned a solution for it. They were very patient and flexible with my schedule and worked with me to get the project scheduled to meet my time frame. | |The crew was terrific ! I have never had such an efficient contractor crew working at my home. They explained what they were doing throughout the process and cleaned up very thoroughly. This is what a homeowner hopes every contractor will be.

Description of Work: pressure washed my 2 story home. The house has old vinyl siding but looks very nice after Ahren (Effecient Home Solutions) was finished. They were respectful of flower bed and checked windows for any leaks. Best job of pressure washing I have had . Thanks Ahren.

Description of Work: I own a duplex (a rental built in 1949) that is cold and damp. The tenants had high heating bills and a lot of moisture even though they frequently ran a dehumidifier. I contacted Efficient Home Solutions to investigate these problems. Ahren performed a double blower door test (one running in each unit) and identified many leaks in the walls, floors, ceiling, and fireplace. After receiving a detailed proposal, I contracted with him to perform the work. This consisted of sealing around pipes, electrical wires, vents and doors. As part of the contract he also laid down heavy duty plastic in the crawlspace to reduce the moisture problem. After completion of the sealing work, he performed another double blower door tests to measure the actual improvement in reduced air flow leakage. He found that several of the soffit vents we had a re-modeler add last year were not working because they were installed wrong. Since Efficient Home Solutions is a trade ally of the EnergyTrust of Oregon, I was eligible for a $450 cash incentive (rebate) from the EnergyTrust. Ahren provided the forms to get this rebate.
