Came home on New Years Eve, after a wonderful tropical vacation, to find the furnace was broken. The house was down to 28 degrees! We shivered through the night and called Rose City first thing the next day. I chose them based on the Angies List reviews and because they had a pre-pay coupon deal. The scheduler was really nice and helpful and got someone lined up right away. Dave the technician came out that same day and diagnosed the problem. He was a very jovial and friendly guy. I watched him test the unit and learned a lot about my heating system in the process. He seems to enjoy his job and it shows. My dog thought he was cool too, which is a rarity. After figuring out the problem he called his parts supplier and had them truck the part down from Tacoma. He went first thing in the morning, picked up the part and came over to install it. I was really impressed that he was able to get the unit working (better than ever) so quickly, especially during a holiday. Thanks Rose City!

AWESOME!!! We woke up to a cold house, our usual provider couldn't see us for 3 days. Checked Angies List and called Rose City, they were awesome!!! Caitlin was friendly and helpful, scheduled us for the same day! Dave was prompt, knowledgable and fixed the furnace right up! He even replaced the filters for us! I couldn't be more pleased and will call them the next time we need service!!!

There was a lack of communication at the onset about getting the gasline put in which delayed the installation and was upsetting because we had no functional heat for almost 2 weeks longer than planned. The crew was pleasant and cleaned up after they were done. This model gets vented through an external wall instead of through a chimney (which I now see as a major drawback!). We were not consulted about where we would like the exhaust for the new furnace to be. The furnace has been working fine over this past year but 2 issues were uncovered when we had a crew come in several months later to do some weatherizing work. This crew told us that the furnace was unnecessarily large for our house, which would cause it to run for very short periods of time and not circulate the air in the house as well. And this is proving to be true. When I asked Rose City about this, they said it was the smallest size that American Standard, the brand they use, makes. The other crew said smaller furnaces can be bought elsewhere. The other issue was that the same weatherization crew noticed a leak from the furnace piping. Turned out no sealant was used on the junctures of one of the exhaust pipes. Jeff, Rose City owner, said the furnace had passed inspection. How did it pass with such a glowing error? Anyway, they did come out and fix it. Most recently, I had them come out to do an annual checkup and we were left with an non-functional furnace for over 24 hours because the tech forgot to latch the furnace door correctly! I had to really push to get him to come back before he went on to other jobs. It should have been a priority for Rose City as it was their error. All in all, a not so satisfactory experience. And the furnace is loud. It is in crawlspace and we hear it start up and power down every time.

Found an issue and left a proposal for it to be fixed. The proposal was unclear and far above the market average.

On time, on budget, no drama.

Work was good and they came on time. we hired them for A/C inspection and they fixed the A/C issues. Bit pricy for the actual fix but they did a decent job and were quick.

Rose City Heating technician was on time, and performed the routine maintenance and testing from the Angie's List deal. During the maintenance he noticed several areas of concern, explained them to me and told me how much they would be to fix the found problems (as they were outside the scope of the furnace and A/C tune-up). Very happy that the technician was able to find current and future problems, and fix them before they resulted in a more expensive future failure.

This was a combined AC/heating cleaning and checkup done as an Angie's Deal. The scheduling was hassle free and the technician showed up as agreed. Completed the cleaning and inspection in about 90 mins and filled out what appears to be a pretty comprehensive checklist including temp readings, amperage draws, etc. The technician was courteous and clean. No extra work was suggested (7 yr old AC and furnace; no previous repairs/cleanings). I'd happily use Rose City Heating&Air for future work.

We have rescheduled for tomorrow. At this stage I do not have a lot of options but to use the provider as they are the only one that can come as soon as possible. I need to have a dryer vent relocated before other plumbing and electrical work happens. I will report later on the outcome of the service. So far, all I have is that I took time off from work, and no work was done.

The service went fine. I paid an additional fee to have a leak in the line repaired. One technician came out and completed the job in an about an hour and a half. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

We researched this product (split / ductless heat pump) and thought it would be a good fit for our upstairs bedroom. We received bids from multiple companies and ultimately selected Rose City. Their bid was not the lowest, but they seemed knowledgeable about these systems and had a good service rating on Angie's List. The installation went smoothly. The wiring/lineset were skillfully installed with good attention to detail and aesthetics (it runs along the exterior of the house.) The installation crew was very professional and answered all our questions. We were very pleased with the performance of the system. When summer '14 came around we started using the cooling function for the first time and discovered major problems -- the system would randomly shut down every couple of hours and wouldn't cool our living space. Rose City honored their warranty guarantee and dispatched technicians to troubleshoot the issue free-of-charge. Unfortunately, it took over 2 months of troubleshooting and 10+ service visits before the issue was finally resolved. To make matters more frustrating, the administrative staff seemed pretty new and not very technically savvy, so there was lots of confusion and delays in getting our issue resolved. We wish that Rose City was more proactive in handling our case. After 3+ visits, you'd think that Rose City would realize that their previous solution wasn't working and needed to try a new approach. Instead, we were stuck in "Groundhog Day" -- each time we contacted them it felt like we were starting over from scratch, and the same (unsuccessful) fix was attempted over and over again. We finally reached out directly via Angie's List, and Jeff responded immediately and led a more coordinated effort to get to the bottom of our issue and break the cycle. We still give Rose City an overall 'B' rating, because in the end they did resolve our issue and honored their warranty contract without any argument. Their technicians were all courteous and professional, and we're happy with the original installation and repair of our system. But the poor responsiveness from Rose City and lack of coordination/communicating between their technicians was very frustrating and caused our issue to drag on longer than it should have.

The people at Rose City Heating did an absolutely fantastic job replacing my heating and air conditioning system. I was very reluctant to think that I might have to replace my equipment, but after going over everything and weighing my options, Jeff at Rose City made me feel very comfortable in making the decision to replace everything. As a matter of fact, I could not have made better decision .The guys at Rose City did an outstanding job at every aspect of their services. From sales to the installation, everything was absolutely wonderful. The price was very reasonable and the installation was very prompt and professional. The people at Rose City Heating and air will be taking care of all of my heating and air needs from now on. I highly recommend them. I cant thank them enough

The service went well. He did a very thorough job cleaning and was great at explaining everything. One technician came out for the job and completed the service in in about 1-2 hours. I had no problem scheduling the service.

I called on a hot day as my air conditioner wasn't working. They actually came out that same day. I was thrilled. It was a simple problem with the thermostat which is fixed in a few minutes.

Our Bryant furnace was making a loud whistling noise and it was very very annoying. Called several heating services and rose city was the only one who could come same day. Service call is $89 which could not be carried over to the consequent part installation...bummer. The service guy also sort of hard-sealed me on getting the part. Open market the inducer fan is approx $250, rose city was going to rush it for $470. They got the part quickly but failed follow-up to schedule an installation time when I finally got a hold of them the next spot was 2 weeks out. Normally I would not care since this is really a learning opportunity to know what was causing that sound and how I could fix it myself on the future but we have a newborn and the whistling only aggregated our sleep deprivation and made us concerned for exposing our sons developing hearing to this high pitched squealing of metal on metal. Diagnostic on 11/22/13. Fixed the problem part on 12/20/13. I expected more......

It went great. I think I may be spelling the gentleman's name work that serviced the furnace. He was so professional and did an excellent job. See you guys next year for my tuneup.

Dave arrived right on time and spent close to 2 hours doing this tune up. He was very informative and thorough. He even went into the attic to check on the intake vent noise he heard. He didn't try to sell me things I didn't need and gave me some good advice for the future.
