Easy to schedule, professional repairman

Great. They made a second trip here at no extra charge because of an access problem.

System was working fine, but thought it was prudent to have a technician tune up the burners before the heating season. The boiler has been working fine, but I really can't say how well the work was done since I have no way of knowing, other than it's working. What I do know is that he recommended some improvements to the boilers' water supply system & recommended a plumber which we hired to make the necessary fixes to bring it up to code. I appreciated his assistance.

They come out twice a year, once for the heating and once for the cooling. I think pricing is reasonable. They come out when they say they are. They're very professional and polite. I'll use them again pretty soon for the furnace.

The technician arrived on time, serviced the boiler & made recommendations for updates required by the plumbing code & recommended a plummer to install a back flow prevention valve.

Fantastic! I've had maybe 7 service calls on this equipment, first with the original installers, and then, when I gave up on them, a couple of other local hvac contractors. The problem was that my "Delta T" or the temperature split between the return air and the supply air was only about 4 degrees F on a hot day. This caused the A/C to run 24/7 and still not keep up, leaving me with a brand new system that could barely maintain 75F on a 90+ day. Nobody I called out of them seemed to have either the will or the skill to diagnose the issue until Sufian from Rose City Heating and Air came out. The first thing he noticed was that the system was severely overcharged. I'd wondered why the compressor was so loud, turns out it was because the head pressure was way too high. He took some refrigerant out and that made the system run better but still wasn't performing as it should. Next step was to replaced the fixed piston metering device with a TXV. In the course of doing that he found the root problem, the original installers had installed the piston backwards. Anyway, let my story be a warning, not all hvac guys are created equal. I wish I'd gone with Rose City for my initial hvac install, not only do they do great work but they sell American Standard equipment, which, as I now know, gets the highest ratings from Consumer Reports. All in all I'm extremely happy with Rose City's service and tenacity, especially after having 3 other companies out here who basically told me to "just live with it".

I had a new unit installed by another company about two years ago. I had problems with the unit working properly since installation and they weren't able to repair, despite many attempts. They finally suggested I call someone else, which I did. Rose City sent out a technician who did a fantastic job -- he diagnosed the problem with the wiring and repaired my unit. It is now working like it should. I recommend Rose City highly.

Tech was awesome, awesome, awesome - diagnosed and fixed the problem in no time flat, after i spent 5 months last summer trying to get working AC through American Home Shield Home Warranty, and NW Valley Mechanical - both losers, as far as quality of work and customer services. So happy I decided to hire Rose City!

Our guy called and asked if he could come a day early because he had time that day. We said of course and he showed up 10 minutes later. He diagnosed our problem quickly (circuit breaker was off... still kicking myself), did a once over on the furnace to make sure the problem was solved and was off. Very friendly and professional. There may be cheaper people out there but you will always pay more in the long run. Second time we have used them and we are just as happy the second time, as the first.

I am totally disappointed. Rose City Heating & Air has great reviews here, but my experience was not what I had expected. I recently had the ducts cleaned in my new home, and was informed at that time that I would need to have my AC coil cleaned as well. I found Rose City Heating & Air on Angie's list, and told them what I needed done. They scheduled someone to come out very quickly, which was nice. Unfortunately, the tech who showed up came, apparently, not to do the job I needed, but to perform "diagnostic work," and tell me how he would go about performing said job. Though the tech was nice and explained things well, I felt like I was being up-sold the entire time. When he was done, he gave me an estimate of $300-600+ to do the job (I later had another company come and do the cleaning thoroughly without having to cut and re-braze pipes for under $200) and then told me someone from the office would contact me that day to schedule the work. I never heard back from Rose City. So it seems as though I just paid $59 to have someone come and do an estimate? That is not how this should work...

Provider was courteous and gave valuable feedback about repair vs. system replacement. We were given estimates of the cost of additional diagnostic s as well as likely repairs. We also obtained an estimate for system replacement from this company. Ultimately we went with another provider for system replacement that was slightly cheaper and back by a Costco guarantee, but we have no complaints about Rose City.

Safe showed up right one time; gave a call 30 mins before showing up. He very quickly diagnosed and resolved the problem. He identified an additional issue that wasn't an immediate problem but may have caused a future problem. He dealt with everything quickly and clearly explained what the issue was. I've used Rose City for cleaning in the past and have been very pleased with their work. I'll definitely call them in the future for any needed maintenance or repairs.

On time. Friendly. Cleaned every part of our furnace. When I mentioned our need to replace our hot water heater he went out of his way to offer some advice and recommendations.

Like I said he talked me into buying a replacement furnace ignitor for 200 dollars. The part is about 25 dollars from online stores. If I hadn't done that then I believe the furnace tune up would have been worth the cost, but with that thrown in I don't think it was worth it. I think the work the technician did was fine. I also asked for an estimate on putting in a hood in my basement. My wife works with oil paints, and I sometimes solder electronics, and I wanted a hood put in the basement. The estimator also recommended changing the furnace intake to outside. The estimator didn't follow up with me afterwards. I called one week later and asked for a follow up with no response. After that I figured that he didn't want the work.

The technican replaced the capacitor and added approx. 3 lbs refrigerant (R-410a). The work was done correctly and the a/c unit is working fine now. However, in conversation with others I now think I was significantly overcharged for the refrigerant. Plus, I was given an exorbitantly high cost estimate for a return visit to isolate and repair the refrigerant leak.

We got a bid from them on a Tuesday and they fit us in the following Monday! Which was amazing considering the hot weather we have had. They arrived at 7:00 am and worked until 11:00 pm. Installing a new A/C unit in a home that was not a/c ready. They had to install it through our attic in very hot weather, bring in an electrician - it was a big job! They stuck to their bid and we also got financed for 18 months no interest. We are incredibly pleased with their work! Would highly recommend them.

Waited weeks for my scheduled appointment. Nobody showed up. Nobody called. Couldn't get anyone on the phone to explain.

Was here for part of a day with fixes. I had told him that my ac went out the end of last summer and what another company recommended for repairs. This technician said he wanted to try some other fixes having nothing to do with what actually needed repairs. I went with his recommendations regarding repairs assuming he new what he was talking about. The first day of 90 degree heat and I get mild air blowing out. I had the work done early to avoid the heat. I called the company back and eventually the tech came back out to see the issue. He said the coil must have just went out recently and that was causing the issue. Even though when he initially came out to do the work I told him it went out at the end of last summer. Now that its hot I cant get anybody out to do the work cause its so busy. Rose city wants to charge me 1400.00 dollars now to do the work. Im still waiting for another company to see if they can get the part to fix it. So my family and I have been just living with the 89 degree heat in the HOUSE..

Service was very prompt and on time. Dave was extremely pleasant and helpful. Explained everything as he was doing it.

This is my first review on Angie's but feeling compelled to do so now. Water heater issue arose this AM (what? no hot shower!?). So, I checked Angie's, and ended up on the phone with Jeff who I believe is the owner. Right off, he sounded friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Not once did I detect a patronizing or opportunistic tone during our conversation (I'm no electrician or water heater expert and I probably sounded like it). Fast forward a few minutes after talking with Jeff, I end up talking with Dave, who is one of the technicians confirming our appointment. He was polite, prompt and obviously took pride in the work he did in helping people (this quality seems to be rare these days, and this was a refreshing change). Result? They got the job done while exceeding my expectations (and what they were obligated to do). My first Angie's review. And a glowing one.

Another part broke and we never did figure out if the first part was really the defective one or not. They had to come out a couple of times and replace a couple different parts. They were close by to our house so they came right over and just that they understood that it was February and we really needed immediate help. They didn't fail where we can't get to that. They repaired the part, you know most people would just throw it away and say you have to order a new part. They were able to repair the broken part. We were very impressed with that. It saved us about seventy-five dollars. They were prompt and friendly. I was very impressed that they were willing to repair the part.
