I called to set up an appointment for a estimate to remodel my half bath. It was scheduled for April 22, 2011. I got a call saying he had an emergency and we needed to reschedule. The appointment was rescheduled for April 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. The time of the appointment comes and goes and no Nick . I called and they forgot to put my name in his appointment book from the reschedule time from the last week appointment. She said she would call him and get him to my home. He arrived at 11:21 a.m. I didn't have much time to give to him since I already had other things to do that day. He said he would send me a bid. I got a e-mail from them on May 11, 2011. Saying he was busy but would get me my bid as soon as possible. It is now 06-19-11 and still no bid. I did send them an e-mail a week or 2 ago but I never got a response to that. Very disappointed the how I was treated in this process.
Description of Work: Nothing was performed. I never got a estimate.

Response from Pacific Crest Plumbing
We were contacted by this Angies List member requesting an estimate for a bath remodel. The morning of the appointment she called and asked to reschedule to the following Friday. I was out of the office without my schedule and made the error of not changing the appointment in the schedule. The following Friday she called wondering where Nick was. I called Nick and he was able to get there within 45 minute. Upon his arrival the customer explained what she wanted to have done to her bathroom, none of which had to do with plumbing remodeling. To a plumber, a remodel includes installing all new fixtures, new valves, possibly running new waters and drains and many time’s relocating current plumbing to a new location. It turns out the only pluming this customer wanted was a vanity installed and shut off’s. This is a small “typical” plumbing project that we give free estimates over the phone and not in person. What this customer wanted was trim, wainscoting, new towel bars installed a medicine cabinet etc., nothing a plumber does but rather a contractor. Nick told this customer as a favor that he “would try” and get in touch with a contractor friend and give her an idea of what the work would cost. In the meantime, he gave her a ballpark for the vanity. About a week later I received a message that simple said “where’s my estimate.” I talked to Nick and he said his contractor friend hadn’t got back to him, I relayed this to this customer via email. Shorty after this I received a notice from Angies List that this person had posted a very negative review. Nick contracted another contractor and obtained some rough numbers for what she wanted done and I sent over and “estimate”. At this point I assumed we were done, obviously she gave us all “F”’s so apparently she was not interested in working with us, I was wrong! Two days later I received this email: I want a new countertop, tile, sink, faucet, oak base board, medicine cabinet, light, hang towel bar and security bar, paint with a very light orange texture. I have picked out the lamanite for the countertop along with the sink, faucet, baseboard, medicine cabinet, light. towel and security bar and paint. I need to know about getting a new vanity or keeping the existing one. Need to know the cost for that. I am still looking at tile for the back splash. Toliet is ok. It does sweat and I am a little concerned about the oak flooring. The walls in the bathroom need to be smoothed out alittle. There are places where things were hung prior to me buying the home. Also, I would like the outlet lowered and I think it needs to be a new outlet. Would like one with 4 plugs and also need a new dimmer switch and I have picked that out as well. After receiving all “F”’s from this customer we were left even more confused about her wanting to work with us. And AGAIN, virtually all of the work she wanted on her expanded list was NON-PLUMBING related. At this point we emailed her back letting her know she didn’t need a plumber she needed a general contractor and gave her the name, number and email of another contractor on ANgies List. Two days later she emailed she would not be working with us. We are not sure this customer knows what she wants, we hope she finds it.

I had a leak in my basement from my cold water intake line to my bathroom sink on the ground floor. When Nick first came over to take a look at the job he warned me that when you repair one spot on an old line it sometimes causes leaks further down the line. That is precisely what happened when Nick, Zack and Rick came over and fixed that leak (squeezing me in before another big job they had). He didn't even charge me for that job but told me he recommended a re-pipe of all the old pipe. The new leak was right above the washer and easily caught in a bucket, unlike the other one that was in the floor boards. But it gave my husband and me time to decide what to do. We didn't get any other estimates because we really liked Nick. So we got the re-pipe. They also replaced the old outside faucet in front and put a new outside line in the back so we don't have to drag hoses to the backyard anymore. I had originally emailed them about the leak and about installing a utility sink in the basement. But once the job turned into a big job I decided to keep things as simple as possible for me. When I came home that day the utility sink was put together and installed. They did that with no extra charge. Plus they gave me Angie's List discounts. (Yes, two!) The 2nd one was because I helped them out by changing the date of the job. I am always home when workmen come, but I felt comfortable giving them a key and called Nick to make sure my dog was doing a-ok.
Description of Work: Part 1: repair of leak in floor boards from upstairs sink. Part 2: Re-pipe of cold and hot water pipes. New hose bib in front. New line and hose bib in back. Utility sink put together and installed.

I hd the usual great and friendly service -- except I got to meet the new plumber on the team, Zak -- who lives up to the wonderful service always provided in the past. Pacific Crest Plumbing is great -- very responsive, reasonably priced, and a strong and professional work ethic. I'll be calling in the future when the drains clog again!
Description of Work: I've been calling on Nick at Pacific Crest Plumbing for the past couple of years -- usually to come out and clear drains in my old house. Today was no exception -- my long hair finally choked the bathtub drain once again and I called for help.

I had an appointment with Pacific Crest about 1pm. Their office called about 10am and said he was in the area , could he come over now which I thought was wonderful thereby opening up the rest of my day. Nick arrived within a few minutes and very thoughtfully removed his boots at my front door, went down to the basement to examine the problem area and came back upstairs in a very short time and said the problem was fixed. He tightened up a faucet gasket and said since I had used his company before and appreciated my business there would be no charge. He did explain that with a 1959 house and its aging pipes there could be a problem with that pipe in the future. He was prompt, efficient, and identified the problem immediately. Of course I am not anxious to call a plumber in the near future but am confident that when I do I've got the best to call--Pacific Crest Plumbing.

Our water heater was about 20 years old and we knew we needed to replace it. I went on Angie's List and saw Pacific Crest plumbing. We'd used the company many years before on a rehab we were doing. We called, got a quote for a new water heater and had it installed within 3 days. Everything went smoothly. Nick, the owner, is trustworthy and fair in pricing. I'd hire him again.

I heard a drip in my wall below my kitchen. Nick and Zack came out the same day and diagnosed an expansion issue. Being extremely cost conscious, Nick discussed my options. And after determining the best option would include putting some insulation in the wall by myself, Nick didn?t even charge me for the trip out. Can?t say enough about how great Pacific Crest Plumbing is!!!

I had several quotes - all pretty close and decided to go with Nick. He was by far the most straight forward honest plumber I met with. He was very conscious of keeping cost down and was flexible on timing (we were getting floors refinished at the same time). Overall a great experience - and Nick is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Also, Anna in the office is a pleasure to deal with as well.

We had a plumber the day before that completly botched the job and left us without water overnight. We called Pacific Crest Plumbing at about 8AM and by noon Nick and his partner arrived, assessed the situation, left to purchase the parts required for the repair and had us connected by 2:30PM. It was obvious watching these men that they were totally competent plumbers. They were friendly and professional. Parts were $159 and labor was $516.

The galvanized pipe in our 40-year old house had started to develop pin-hole leaks and we decided to upgrade the plumbing by replacing the galvanized pipe with PEX. We got bids for the whole-house repipe from three licensed, Angie's List-approved contractors. Two of the bids (Pacific Crest's bid and another company) were approximately the same amount and the third bid was almost twice as much. The decision to go with Pacific Crest was easy. When we met with Nick (the owner) when he came out to bid the work, we were impressed with his practical, realistic assessment of the project and recommended approach. He was friendly and very professional. The job was a little tricky because the pipe had to be snaked through a long, narrow crawl-space between two floors and it was also necessary to open up walls to access pipes behind walls in our four bathrooms. Nick completed the project two days early, with no change orders or problems. He minimized the wall openings that were needed to access pipes in walls, and left the job-site very clean. Communication with Nick was great, and he handled everything smoothly with no issues, including getting permits and final approval from the City. We were very satisfied with the work on this project and highly recommend Nick and Pacific Crest Plumbing.

The job performed by Nick the owner and plumber was done within the time frame we discussed, done with efficiency, attention to detail, and at one part taken apart and redone by Nick because he didn't like the way it turned out (even though it would have worked). Nick is personable and easy to talk to and generous with his time and knowledge. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing job and he will be the one I call in the future.
Description of Work: 20 years ago when the city was requiring residents to change over from septic to sewer connection the contractor (hired at that time) did not hook up one toilet in the residence. We discovered the problem when the septic failed. We called in 3 plumbing companies to bid on the job, Nick Deleganes from Pacific Crest came in with the best price, best understanding of the process and explained to us in detail what the work would entail and how long it would take. The work included: jack hammering into a basement cement floor, digging by hand, re-piping the sewer, removing the old toilet and installing a new one, arranging for permits and inspections.

Nick is a great plumber that really cares about his work and customer satisfaction. I have had him out to my condo on two occasions for repair work as well (water heater, new shower line). The first time he came, he could not perform the work since I needed an insurance adjustor to come out and look at the problem. He was not put out at all by this and said to call when I was ready to have the work done. Nick and Anna went out of their way to connect me with some other contractors and a handyman that they know to get the rest of my job done. Thanks for the great work and giving me the comforting feeling that I am not getting the wool pulled over my eyes. I am very satisfied with the work done and the caring way that they run their business.

Vita-we deeply apologize for our inability to meet a time frame we gave you. As we move along with our day there are times we run into unexpected problems and a job we may think will only take an hour or two, turns into something much larger and longer. We do our best to call when we are on our way or if we are going to be late. As times I am out of the office and don’t always have client’s phone numbers to make a call.
