Anctil Heating and Cooling

I just moved into this house and the heat worked for a while but them just conked out. The serviceman immediately discovered that the owners had put in new air filters for me but hadn't refastened the internal cover plate correctly. After a few cycles of heat it vibrated enough to no longer make contact with the safety switch. He quickly repaired the problem which I would have never been able to detect and then pointed out some issues with the furnace I needed to be aware of for future planning.

Anctil visited our home to bid on a replacement furnace. The estimator was very professional. He spent a good amount of time with us discussing our needs and his proposal, and he performed a cursory analaysis of our existing system and home (but not a true load calc). We decided on installation of a system from another vendor of equal quality, but better price. I recommend Actil to anyone seeking a replacement furnace.

Upon moving into our house last spring, we noticed a downstairs bathroom vent drafted cool air regardless of whether the HVAC system was on or off. We plugged the vent from the top and left it as it was until fall came and we started running the furnace again. I called Anctil after a friend's referral. They scheduled the service about 10 days out. We also had the system inspected and a routine maintenance performed. No one had inspected the HVAC system since we moved it, so it seemed like a good idea. After the routine maintenance, the tech went into our crawlspace to diagnose the non-working vent. Turns out the ducting for that vent had become separated and was blowing heat under the house (which is what I suspected). That repair took less than 15 minutes. Overall the technician was probably here 1-2 hours. Brian was the tech sent by Anctil. He was friendly and happy to educate me about our furnance and home ducting. Very good man to work with. He wore booties while in the house and was respectful. I will call them for future needs.

Anctil was very friendly and helpful up front in discussing what our various options were. They came in priced the best against the 3 companies we considered. Their workers were very courteous and out of the way. When the heat pump we requested was not available, they upgraded us to the next best model at the same cost. It's been two years since our last major work was completed and the house is comfortable all of the time and our energy bills are very low.

Anctil Heating and Cooling were wonderful, from start to finish. I just expected it to be routine, because I recently bought the house. It was a really bad problem. They turned off my gas immediately and put in a furnace. Everything is great. I'm going to use them again to check my furnace and air conditioning when it has the next check-up. I was very happy with them.

They replaced the pump and were on time. They estimated the cost over the phone and charged what we expected. We would definitely use them again and have set up a maintenance contract with them.

They did their job with no issues, no need to put attention to it really so I guess that's a good mark. They came and didn't take that long and did their job without being an inconvenience to me. Their price is fair. They were here on time.

Anctil was not the lowest price but had the most honest presentation. They helped with the paperwork for the Energy grant. The workers were professional, fast and cleaned up well. I was glad I used them over less expensive companies and even a family member.

I am unhappy with the service and their pricing. When they originally installed it was a great job and great service, but this last particular time I felt they weren't very communicative about what was going on with my furnace. They may be more into commercial work. I will be shopping around for someone else next year.

Chris from Anctil Heating and A/C came out, exactly on time, and figured out the problem. He was very knowledgeable. He repaired and replaced thermostat and thermostat wiring, cleaned the furnace and burners in two units. We purchased a service agreement which will have our two furnaces and A/C units maintained and inspected twice a year. We agreed that Anctil will be our "go to" heating and A/C service provider in the future if any needs come up. Price was reasonable, and includes the service agreement.

Anctil forgot to write my appointment in their scheduling books and completely missed the appointment. When I called, they did send someone out that same day, which was slightly redeeming. They apologized but that seems like kind of a big blunder. Mine is a potential $15,000 job. I explained what I wanted in terms of the bid to the technician Eric (who was very polite), and my situation is slightly complicated because it's a duplex. We discussed a few different options, and Eric said they would be on the bid. Only some of the options we discussed ended up showing up on the bid. I also brought up an incentive program run by the ETO that Anctil apparently was not involved in, but Eric said he would research it to see whether Anctil could participate. I received the bid with no mention of the program or its incentives. On the plus side, they were pretty quick with getting their bid to me after the walkthrough. I'm waiting to hear back about the missing items from the bid. Their reply will determine whether I will use them in the future.

They arrived on time, worked hard throughout the day, directly arranged for the electrician and permits so we had to do nothing, but learn how to use the new control at the end of the day. They cleaned everything up and other than having a new awesome furnace, you'd never know they had been there. We've also since had their service tech out for a six month check up to make sure everything was running well, and he was great also. Prompt, polite, and quick, and even did service check on our a/c unit while he was here. My neighbor saw their trucks outside our house and inquired what we had done. They too had problems with their furnace and ended up hiring them also and they too are thrilled with their choice of unit and also helped them fix their missing Return upstairs so they now have heat and cool upstairs for first time in 8 years since they moved in. Both households highly recommend Anctil!!!

They do the annual maintenance on my unit twice a year. I really like them. Their price is a little on the high end, but they do good work and their employees are fantastic.

Eric Miller is a consumate professional as well as a very patient and nice guy and did everything he said he would.Had four bids on this job and Anctil's was several hundred dollars below the other three.Eric sized up the home and recommended an 80,000 BTU furnace as well as placement of the new thermostat in a central hallway.At first I resisted the suggested location of thermostat and also was leaning towards a 60,000 BTU furnace because that was the size recommended by another HVAC contractor.Now I am very pleased with location of thermostat and also with the capacity of the furnace. The lead installer (Min) was very good and thorough and nice- even but he does speak with a heavy accent and is hard to understand. Only bad mark on job was the assistant installer. He did not always put on booties when working inside the house and did not clean his hands prior to installing new thermostat.

Over all job was OK and about average but the average these days is substandard in my humble opinion. Eric was very nice and professional upfront. However the job had multiple delays on their part and it took them close to 3.5 months to finally come out and finish the job! I also had multiple emails and phone calls to them that weren't returned which I found very frustrating and unprofessional. Then after project was eventually completed and paid, they tried to upcharge me on a BID job for upgraded quality materials that were the same as what I had in the rest of my system put in by others (and mentioned to them at the first meeting). Also, the initial airflow test was never done correctly after multiple attempts so is still outstanding but a moot point now. Lastly, had a disagreement during install of trying to charge me more to quiet down a hallway return duct when I had already paid them $600 line-item in the bid to do it but their fix didn't work. They did eventually back down on their upcharges which was good so it wasn't a total fight but disappointing that they tried that same old trick that many contractors do and can't admit to understand the difference between an estimate and a bid. Of course, if the bid job and gone easier than they expected, I'm sure they would have offered a price reduction. Not likely. Lastly, the lack of communication and ridiculous delays are why I won't be calling them again for more work. Unfortunately, as bad as the experience with Anctil was, they are still about middle ranking out of 6 or 7 hvac groups I've worked with over the years.

Great job and won't think twice about calling them for our furnace maintenance in the future.

Second time I've used them. Professional, skilled workers, explain what they're doing. I'd hire them again. Only a few hundred more than smaller companies

I live in a condominium. I‘ve been using this company for about 3 or 4 years and I think they are fine. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

The service tech -- Jeff -- was helpful and professional. Addressed our needs exactly nothing more or less.
