Jason was on time and very professional. He was very helpful and full of information about how to care for and make simple repairs on my two wood stoves in the house I had recently purchased. His services were fair and he made many useful recommendations, I had him come back a few months later to repair some flashing and will be having him back to add a cap to one of my chimneys.. UPDATE- as of today 9-24-11, Jason has now twice not shown up for a chimney sweep and cap placement. The first time was a few weeks ago and when I touched bases with Jason a few days later (it takes him a loooong time to call back) he apologized and stated he had written the appointment down on the wrong date so it had to be rescheduled. Today was the reschedule and he was a no call no show. I do not understand this as yesterday he left a message confirming the appointment and asking if he could come earlier, I called him back and left a message that that would be fine and we would see him tomorrow. Alas 2 messages have been left today and I have heard nothing. I will take my work elsewhere and advise the same. It appears to me that Jason is too busy for his own good and apparently can't keep his appointments and I won't be wasting anymore of my time waiting for someone who doesn't show up. I am also stuck with trying to get a refund on the Angies list Big Deal that I purchased for the chimney sweep so lets hope that goes smoothly. I am very disappointed, the first time I did business with Jason it was a good experience and he seemed like a reliable person but since then he has shown me different.

I recently purchased a townhouse and not knowing when the chimney was last cleaned I went straight to Angie's list. After reading previous reviews I decided to give Jason a call. What a wonderful person. He was very prompt in returning my call and even more prompt with his appointment. Since I am not from cold country and not familiar with making a fire, he was most informative in training me how to light a fire in my fireplace. Apparently there is an issue of pre-heating part of it, so I'm very glad Jason explained everything to me. He is very knowledgeable and I will certainly use his services again in the future if the need arises. Plus, even better he currently has a coupon for Angie's list Members so I got a $20 discount off the regular price.

Jason was quick to respond to my request to change original appointment date due to my family emergency, and when he was running a little late on our rescheduled date he called ahead to let me know, which I appreciated. He inspected both flues and confirmed my concern about creosote build up in one that gets used the most. He explained how it can cause chimney fires and said it looked like we had a small one some time in the past. He said that after he did his regular sweep, he could tell if the creosote was too thick and would require an additional chemical clean. As it turned out, it did not need it. This was good news as another company had recently charged us $99 for an inspection (no cleaning) and then gave a $500 estimate for a special "roto-router" cleaning of that flue and regular cleaning of the second flue. Master Sweep did not charge for an estimate and gave us a very reasonable price with Angie's List discount, so I had them do the cleaning right away. Jason alerted us to some minor repair needed to some small cracks at the top of the chimney, which my husband can do, along with wire brushing the brick to remove moss. He recommended we install 2 chimney caps to prevent any more rain damage to the interior of the flues and waterproofing the whole exterior of the chimney and gave us an estimate for each of those items. He was not pushy about them and just said to give him a call if we decide to do it. When I asked if we needed to have the chimney's cleaned once a year, he said that based on our usage, we only needed to do it every 2 years. It's refreshing to use a company that is interested in doing the job right and not try to gouge you for more money. UPDATE 9-15-2011: 2 weeks ago Jason checked back with me to see if I was interested in having the work done that we had discussed last year. Because I had recently read an Angie's List article about the benifit of waterproofing and chimney caps, I scheduled Jason to do the work. He and helper came this morning, right on time, installed two top quality chimney caps and waterproofed the chimney. They got the work done in 30 minutes or less. Again he said we won't need a cleaning for 2 years, and he would send out a reminder for us. Great work and excellent customer service!

Jason promptly returned my call and set up a cleaning within a week. He arrived punctually and clearly knew his stuff. Showed me some minor maintenance issues and helped me think through possible causes for why we occasionally smell smoke in our basement when using upstairs fireplace. Highly recommend him and will use Master Sweep again.

They did a nice job. He was very prompt and very informative. He gave us ideas about other work that needed to be done, but he wasn?t pushy. He was helpful.

Jason seems very knowledgeable and was friendly and responsive. He got the job done within a few days of my call, between rainstorms,which was much appreciated. He cleaned up after himself, educated me on several important safety aspects, and was very careful of my roof. He'll be back to finish up with water repellent and flue cleaning this summer. UPDATE May 5 2013: The chimney cap fell apart after one year. Apparently he did only a cosmetic repair on it, because it really fell apart in chunks. Jason says it's a warranty repair, and that he will fix it ASAP. Been waiting since October for a clear few days, however. Supposedly he'll be back any day now. Will update you then again. UPDATE October 2013: After calling monthly for a year and hearing every single possible excuse about time and weather, along with several no-shows, Jason finally fixed the cap on the warranty repair. He waited until the rain started again. This was overall a very big hassle and a very disappointing lack of professionalism and responsibility considering the amount of money I spent with him, which included a sleeve on one chimney in a job done prior to this one.

They were good. They were prompt and very knowledgeable. They found some other issues with the chimney that need repaired. They went above and beyond. They did leave a piece of equipment here and I called to let them know. I didn?t talk to anybody else. I thought the price was fair.

They did a really good job and were very responsive. In fact, we had some leaking in our roof that was caused by the chimney cap being incorrectly installed in the first place when the house was built. We had several roofers and different people come out and look at that and no one was able to solve the problem. The Master Sweep people were able to solve it so I really appreciated that. I would definitely use them again in future.
