Very professional, wonderful service, would hire again in a second

Provider declined to provide service at my residence due to it's location.

The person from Mastersweep tried to talk us into getting a whole new wood stove rather than just refunding us our money.

The cleaning went well and the technician pointed out that our chimney cap was in good condition and had been replaced some time before we'd bought the house, and that it was an expensive chimney cap. He also showed us that the back fire wall was cracked and should be replaced, so we scheduled that and they came out another day to finish that. When our house was inspected for sale and the buyers wanted extra cash for the chimney cap, we were able to confidently tell them the chimney cap was in good shape and we weren't going to do any concessions for that. If we hadn't had the inspection and cleaning, we might have ended up paying for something that wasn't needed, so in my opinion they saved us money.

Jason was prompt for the estimate, and for the first day of installation. He said I had to come home early from work so he could show me how to use the damper. I was on my way home from the office (I have a long commute and it's difficult for me to arrange to be away from work) when he called my cell phone and said "We're done!" I said "Wow, that was fast!" because he had said 1 1/2 to 2 days. He said "yeah". When I got home they were most certainly not done, not even halfway, the damper was not installed and I said "Why did I have to come home from the office?" and he said "To settle up." I'd made a deposit of just under half in February. So he insisted I pay the balance before the job was done. Because we have electronic banking, I know he must have gone directly from my house to the bank (even though he knew my first check cashed fine, knew where I lived, and owed me the rest of the work). After that things went downhill. He did finish the job, but not on time. I was waiting for him to finish so I could have the roofers install the new roof. When the chimney was done, the roofers started their work, and a few days into it told me that the chimney crown was cracked. I tried to contact Master Sweep via email and telephone, but didn't receive any contact back for several weeks. We scheduled for May 2nd to have the crown repaired. Jason never showed up or called and again I had trouble reaching his office via email and phone. Several weeks later, his office person contacted me and told me that Jason had broken his hip and it would be at least 8 weeks until the work could be done. I'm pretty sure the broken hip occurred AFTER our May 2nd appt. but I don't know for certain. I certainly feel sorry for anyone who's experienced a terribly injury, however, it is now over three months since his missed appointment, I have never been contacted by them again, AND the flashing is now coming off. It looks terrible and I'm trying to sell my house. I will have to hire another mason to conduct the repairs. This was my first time using Angie's List.

came out to do a chimney sweep on 4/30, which went well. Quoted installation of new rain cap & damper. I accepted and they required a deposit to order custom cap. Paid the deposit and scheduled installation. They never showed up for the appointment and did not contact me. I have tried calling, texting & emailing with no response. After 2 months of no contact, I finally contacted my credit card provider to reverse the charge - which they agreed to. Do not use this company.

During a storm, the cap blew off. I spoke with them, and they agreed to replace the cap due to their mistake. When we called to schedule this, we have called for the last three months and left messages. No one has called us back.

They were on time. They did what they said they would for the price. They were very professional. They explained what they were doing, how long it would take, what would be involved.

They did a great job. He inspected and cleaned chimney. No problems with the chimney so yay!

After researching Master Sweep on Angie's List, I bought the deal from Angie's List for the chimney sweep. I read some reviews saying they show up late, but I figured I could deal with that as long as I was prepared for that to happen. I didn't see any negative reviews about their quality of work. So I decided to give them a shot. Jason was late and I had a hard time getting a hold of anyone that morning, but he eventually showed up. I was given an excuse from the woman on the phone that morning, but I can't even remember what this first of many excuses was. I think she said he woke up late. Jason was very nice and informative. He took the time to answer my questions. I didn't even realize the damper was stuck open. He fixed that. This is a chimney I had never used and wanted to get it cleaned before use. He advised I change a chimney cap from a temporary patch job I did to a permanent one. He suggested I cap off the side of the chimney that was no longer in use. I agreed and they came back to do this additional work. I had no issues with them and thought they were great to work with. So I hired them again on another house across town in April 2015. They came out to inspect and wrote up an estimate for chimney repairs. Jason again was very patient and informative, answering all of our questions. We said we'd think about it and give his office a call. We called to schedule the service. The woman on the phone said they would need a $1000 deposit. I never should have agreed to that, but I'd had no problems with them in the past. I gave them the deposit. They never showed up. We called and were told Jason's mother was sick and he would need to reschedule. We rescheduled and they cancelled again. We were told Jason had broken his hip. We asked for a refund of the deposit and after several discussions agreed to Jason's business partner, Jeff, doing the work without Jason. We rescheduled. They didn't show up. We were told his partner quit the day the before. We requested a refund of the $1000 deposit and Emily (I think) said they had already spent the money on materials and could not issue us a refund. What? That's terrible business. They are unable to reschedule the work and will not refund our money. DO NOT USE THEM! When we said we would have the credit card company reverse the charges, Jason called and pleaded with us not to do that. I called him again and left him a message that I'm having the charges reversed. I was hoping to talk to him about other options, but I haven't received a call back. I feel like we gave them every chance to do the right thing and they just didn't. I know bad things (like broken hips) happen, but they need to refund everyone's money or at least call them back to reschedule. They also need to actually show up for work or call people in advance to cancel. It's too bad this happened with a company that had been highly ranked on Angie's List.

These guys have flaked on me over and over. I purchased a deal through Angie's List, they have my money, and I've heard excuse after excuse for why they can't perform the work (fell and broke hip, people quitting the day the work was to be done). But, I read their reviews and I see they've been giving different excuses to others over the last month or so (car accident, truck problems, emergency with son). I've asked them to refund my money as a result and now they aren't even responding to emails. Beware--these guys are crooked.

It went really well and the folks were really nice. We were satisfied with the service.

I set up an appointment at nine am. At 11 I called and they told me they were having truck problems. So we agrees they would come on Monday. They did not SHOW UP and they did not call. I will never call them again.

The Chimney's were cleaned well and holes patch up. They provide a quote to compare back later to do additional repair for chimney on roof and to install endcaps.

Absolutely wonderful! The inspection and cleaning went great and we were able to ensure it was safe for us to build a fire. We found out there there use to be an insert in the fireplace which was ripped out and the damper was broken. We discussed a couple options and decided we would have a lock top installed. Since we had replaced the windows already my husband and I were provided some great advice on how to get proper airflow to the room to avoid smoke in the house. This was also due to the size and shape of our flue. It is so nice to see someone that not only does a great job but educates the homeowner as we let him know this was our first house. After everything was done and he answered our many questions he let us know if we run into any issues with starting a fire just give him a call and he could stop by and assist. Great experience and so nice to see a local business that truly cares. When he was up on the roof he noticed a recently installed vent pipe was not sealed properly and actually went right back up and sealed it for us. So appreciate the extra eyes up there to save us a headache down the road. Will definitely be working with them for the long term!!!

they were able to schedule quickly, and when they arrived I was surprised at how quickly they performed the work. They made sure no debris got on my furnishings. they offered suggestions for things I should check with the fireplace installers given the state of my chimney. There price was very competative

Working with this company has been a nightmare. In February I paid them $210.00 to install a cap on my chimney. It was ordered, and when it arrived I made an appointment to have it installed and was given the typical "time window" for when the workmen would arrive. The day of the appointment no one showed up and no one called. I called them to see what was up, and 2 days later received a call back stating that the workers had been in an auto accident in the company vehicle, and could I please re-schedule. Was also told that the person who does the schedule thought someone else had called me and vice versa. The next appointment I made they again did not show up and no one called. This time it was because of over scheduling and another "I thought he called you" excuse. I made another appointment and again waited for them to arrive. I was leaving for vacation that day. They finally showed up just as I was being forced to leave. Was told I did not need to be there for the work to be done, so I left for my flight. Returned from my vacation to find the work had not been done. When I finally got hold of them, I was told that "he couldn't come because there was an emergency with his son", even though he had actually been at my house. Made another appointment, which again was cancelled because the installer's mother was ill. Again there was a mix up and no one called me. Now I am trying to make another appointment or get my money refunded, but no one is returning my multiple emails and voice mails. I understand that things happen and I have been exceedingly patient. However, considering how long I have waited and that I have re-scheduled FOUR times, you would think this project would be given a high priority. Apparently customer satisfaction and their business reputation is not all that important to this company.

They cleaned the chimney and cleaned up. They were in and out quickly.

It was fine. They didn't go over the Big Deal price. Not much stood out. They came in and did the job. It didn't seem like it maybe needed as much as it needed to be. They weren't here very long. They did find some things wrong with my chimney and they called while I was on vacation. They had their message that said that they sent me an email but I did not receive an email.

The service went fine. The technician was professional and did a good job. He did a nice job cleaning up after himself and he was efficient. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

I talked to Jason and he called explaining he would be out by 1:00 in the afternoon. After he never arrived I called Jason back and he explained he had been tied up at another job and gave me the office telephone number to call and reschedule. Since then I have made 3 calls and sent 2 emails in the last week and have received no response. For this reason I have decided to look elsewhere for a more dependable company.
