They started on Monday morning and they were finished on Wednesday afternoon. I was so impressed with them that I took the crew that was here on Wednesday to lunch. Sam, their manager, came out several times to check up on the progress and they really worked so hard to get this project done. It is attractive and I noticed a runner on my street had stopped and looked at my driveway. I see a lot of people driving by noticing it too. I do get a lot of compliments.

They did a really good job of hiring a sub contractor that was capable of doing the job.

They were great craftsman. One of the owners came out to inspect the job and if something was not right he had it fixed right away. I am considering using them in the very near future.

The driveway looks great! The installation was extremely well handled by Wallace Roberto and his crew from Rivera Brothers - the focus on quality was very evident. System Pavers' Field Supervisor, Sean Fee, checked regularly to make sure things were progressing according to plan. It took longer than I expected at least partly due to several days below freezing (no rain or snow which was fortunate). The only collateral damage was a couple of sprinklers, but given the work involved and the location of the sprinklers, it would be hard to avoid this happening. Suggestions to new customer - Find out who will be the subcontractor doing the installation, how long System Pavers has been using them and have they had any problems with them. As we had our work done in January, we got a top crew. In summer, there will be more jobs going simultaneously. When the design consultant/salesman is scoping the job with you, walk through the scope as he understands it. If we had gone outside with him, we would have seen an oversight in the plans. System Pavers resolved it for us, but it took them an extra trip which is not in anyone's interest. I would recommend getting agreement to hold back a percentage of the payment until all the cleanup and punch list items have been completed. Contractors (almost all of them, good and bad) tend to put a low priority on these tail end items once they have all the money. Since I worked for thirty years for contractors and subcontractors, I've seen it again and again over the years. System Pavers did the tail end work and did it well, but it took a month after the main installation was done. Suggestion to System Pavers - Redo your standard contract clauses. They're too unbalanced in favor of the company. Some lawyers think that's the way to do things, but I almost didn't sign up because of them. Fortunately Josh Anderson, the sales representative, called and, when I stated the problem, said (after checking with the office) that they would waive the offending clauses. I suggest less optimism in saying how long the job will take. The time quoted might have been possible with a top crew working all daylight hours in summer, but not in an Oregon winter. These suggestions are meant to improve the experience for everyone, but they are not intended to indicate dissatisfaction with System Pavers. I would happily use them again.

They did a good job of installaltion and were prompt and professional. We had a few problems but got them corrected. They did leave us a problem on the street pavement where they tore up the street and repaired it with concrete and not asphalt. The patch does not look good but most of the driveway is fine. We would recommend them, but you have to watch over them as they complete the job.

Very poorly. They had to dig out the area bigger than what was originially there. They left the area with no sod or ground cover. They mixed their sand and concrete in a bucket in our yard. The cleaned out the bucket and killed the ground cover around the tree where they poured out the solution. There was no foreman. They were late by a day and no one called to inform me.

Gary was very nice and prompt. He measured my yard, which was much larger than I had originally estimated. He then showed me the product and the cost of installation. Due to the increased square footage, the project was too expensive for me to pursue. The quote, however, was helpful and explained clearly to me. The product is pricer than I had hoped, but I do think system pavers has a quality product and an organized installation system. I would recommend these guys if you have more disposable income and want a worry-free lawn.

They ended up doing an okay job. The actual driveway looks nice, but the edging does not. They did a little bit of damage that they did not repair. For what I paid for, I thought they would have done a better job. The original price was too expensive, but they kept coming down until I could pay for it. They did not seem like a very professional organization. I would not recommend them to others.

I would recommend them to anyone with a small job. They really didn't have the knowledge in installing drainage systems. They actually used duct tape to connect pipes. We discovered this and actually had to call them back out to fix the issue. They did and didn't charge us for the repairs.

I responded to a mailed brochure. I checked with Angie's List and learned that the overall rating of the company was so-so. I shared this concern with the company and they acknowledged that when they first started in this area, they had several start-up problems, including performance by early staff and subcontractors. I looked back at the List reports and noted a marked improvement in the more recent over the earlier reports. I checked the estimated price over the only competitor on the List who did the same work (others did concrete or asphalt paving) and was quoted a less expensive rate per square foot, but learned that the competitor was booked some 3-4 months into the future. I made clear that I wanted the work completed within one work week since I did not want to leave my car out of the garage over a weekend. I became concerned when I was informed that the work would start on a Wednesday rather than on a Monday, but I was promised completion by Friday. The crew started on Wednesday. I was present all the time and noted that they worked continuously, cooperatively, and effectively. As the paving stones were placed, I was impressed by the crew's craftsmanship and by the look of the installation. The work was finished by the end of work, Thursday! This included full installation and careful cleanup. I then learned that the company had placed a double crew on my job to insure that they would be able to keep their promise. IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE A RAVE REVIEW, THAT IS BECAUSE IT IS. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE CREW, THEIR WORK, AND THE INSTALLATION. The company got a B rather than an A on only one thing; that is because the price was a bit higher than what a competitor quoted, and I am a cheapskate.

It was a virtual toss-up between SP and a very reputable landscaper, but I decided to go with the latter. The reason is that I plan to do landscaping projects after the pavers, so might as well start a relationship with a company who performs a multitude of services.

You know, it went okay. We were pretty upset at the tik, but looking outside and enjoying our patio this summer eases the frustration of installation. There were quite a few missteps, but we are happy with the end product and i guess that's what counts. The crew laid the pavers from one side or the patio to the other instead of from the house outward so we had issues with grading and will be watching for any runoff problems. They have a 3 year warranty on the work so they said they will come back and replace the whole thing if necessary. I was happy they cemented in the border and created a very firm gravel substrate, one thing other companies we interviewed did not do. The SP franchise is just starting out here, so I think it is a little bit of a learning curve for them.

Overall it went very well from start to finish. We were concerned that it might take several weeks but it was finished in five days. The crew was very easy to deal with and professional throughout.

We were told that we had to watch a laptop video demo as part of the sales presentation. This was the usual self serving stuff. Part of the sales pitch was the representation that this firm did not use subs or anyone other than their own, proven, long term professional employees. This was stressed more than once and disparaging remarks were offered in the context of the competition that did use such day labor type of employees. The work started on Nov. 13 and we were told it would take about 5 days to complete. The work finished 29 days later, though some of that was due to weather issues. The first crew was fired by Systems Paving after one day on the job. We had pallets of bricks and piles of sand in front of our home for about a month, to the distress of our neighbors. The company was generally uninformative and it took calls from me to determine what was going on. Many delays and not much communication. Systems Paving appears to have some serious labor issues to address.

Too much money. Overall lack of knowledge. Thanks to an absolutely great sub.
